  • blah blah blah, it has claws, blah blah blah that's really wierd:

Birds evolved from bipedal dinosaurs, so it's not that much of a weird feature.

blah blah blah, it eats leaves, blah blah blah, like some mammals, blah blah blah, how evolutionists explain this?:

    Convergent evolution.

Really, how do this idiots (i would have said creationist idiots but that's redundant) can even manage to breathe?

  • attempting to disprove one theory does not in anyway support a rival theory. Just b/c person A was found innocent of a crime, does not mean that person B is guilty. Furthermore, what was the name of said scientist, and where can I find the publicized journal in which he/she says the above quote?

  • There's a 40 second video on this bird that explains everything about it. How 44 idiots managed to turn on their computer, open a browser, and get to this video is the true mystery that needs looked into.

  • 1:26 Ah yes, since this scientist had no answer to a particular question at the time, the explanation automatically defaults to, "Hurr... God did it! Go team bible!" Impeccable reasoning skills there.

  • @codbug Creationists are very interested in real science, not science fiction.

All evolutionists have is hot air on the mostly anonymous Internet. We have the real science backed up by the $10,000 Life Science Prize. You can evolve from a chicken and win the prize or make cowardly remarks on websites until you ultimately die and become a creationists after it's too late. My last remark to you is something that everyone understands: CLUCK, CLUCK

  • @BereanBeacon1

...To win the prize a human has to "evolve" into a chicken? Explain to me how would that prove evolution? Evolutionary theory makes no such claims. Seems to me you don't have the first clue about what you're so dogmatically fighting against. Try actually reading a science book instead of kidding yourself about the state of reality. If all you do is view propaganda approved by a church, how can you ensure you're being exposed to all the evidence out there? I feel sorry for you...

  • @codbug Cluck

  • @BereanBeacon1

Because acting like a chicken is so much easier than attempting to actually address arguments... Sad. :/

  • @MultiFlaps You people won't come out and debate in a public forum using scientific guidelines because you will lose. I have all the lame excuses for not doing so and what is yours?

  • @codbug ". You can evolve from a chicken and...."

  • To me God is the invisible hand of evolution, I think they go hand in hand. Simple DNA concludes that claws and scales are reptilian traits and birds can also be born with teeth and tails, they just don't need them anymore, for the most part. Feathers are modified scales and its digestive system may be primitive and not needed to change, or got better for its preferred diet. Regardless, to me, a hoatzin is a unique bird that offers a glimpse of a window into the past.

  • @kieratyree And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. Mark 10:5,6. And he [Jesus] answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, Matthew 19:4. Was Jesus lying or just ignorant?

  • Please leave nature documentaries to people who are not trying to use it to shove some bullshit about gods an fairies down peoples throat.

There are so many plot-holes to the whole "God" thing its untrue so don't try and use one unusual creature to try and justify it.

God ain't real kids, just like the bogeyman or Michael Jackson.

Go watch Jack Horners talk on building Dinosaurs from chickens on TED, interesting stuff.

  • Axealot1 and TheSporth, why dont you actually tackle the argument rather than giving your opinion?

  • @Siteswap33 Thank you.

  • Typical creationist crap.

  • Im religious and I can tell you that evolution does not contradict creation, in the bible it says God created everything but it doesen't say how so nothing that scientists say can disprove my religion. Theres plenty of religious people that are scientists and/or believe in evolution.

  • These people do not understand evolutionary science at all. I wonder what this bird tastes lilke?

  • @Mebvis Here is some real science. Just search YT for the titles.

  • A Hoatzin is a truly mysterious bird. Thank god that scientist will go to the trouble of discovering how this bird evolved its unique adaptation rather than fall back on the the idea that they one day it appeared by magic. Don't insult your viewers by even trying to propose that this validates creation.

  • @b991228 Our side has God, your side has science fiction.

    Evolution:

I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. Isaiah 66:4

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 2Timothy 3:13

  • HAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!! GLORIFY GOD!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The best YouTube videos confirming the biblical creation you can find in my channel's playlist Creation vs Evolution. Click on "more info" to that playlist, and God bless you.

  • ITV: Butthurt evolutionists.

How about this, just because a lot of people say something doesn't make it true? How about all debate in real science is good debate? How about if this is REALLY about the science you analyze from all sides? Emotion is not science, I am reading lots of "!"s and caps'.

To me this is just a vegetarian Archaeopteryx, which I am not convinced is real due to the unlikely rock it was found in (and flat 3-Dimensional feathers?). Question everything, even the populous.

  • making aside the religious bullshit, this is in fact, a beautiful Dinosaur.

    I love it.

  • Flu = proof of evolution

  • Oh brother. Here's a thought: a God who creates the universe out of the big bang and shapes every creature according to a simple elegant law over millions of years might actually be worth worshiping. Maybe you creationists like to think God is like David Copperfield or casper the friendly ghost but people with enlightened souls know better!

  • are you kidding me? a bird with claws is clearly an evolutionary stage between dinosaurs and birds. This animal is far from an enigma in evolutionary terms-- it's the clearest evidence of any animal for evolution!

  • @throatgorge2 Your evidence is based on science fiction, and not real science.

  • rules of evolution? there is no rules to evolution

  • why do creationists make such bullshit videos. I mean COME ON!! I don't understand how people can lie to themselves

  • It actually doesn't digest leaves the same way as ruminants.,.you have that to thank for the bird's smell (thus why it gets called the stink bird). Actually some see this bird as further evidence OF evolution, so everyone will draw their own conclusions I guess.

  • @FranksVoice yeh, just like flesh eating virus, aint god great ;)

  • People ask about transitional animals, here is one example.

Ok so the scientist, who by the way remains anonymous, that has study the bird for years does not know the answer. There for creation? This is a primitive bird! It does prove another tiny link in evolution and we can continue praising God as we wish but lets not be blind.

  • Creationist bullshit propaganda. I was hoping to find a cool video of a strange and awesome bird and all I find here is the usual creationist nonsense. Hey! A scientist couldn't explain it, therefore, evolution is wrong and God exists! You creationist people really amaze me.

  • @TheSporth I'm wondering if you have an explanation for protein synthesis through spontaneous generation? Or do you just post insults and point to words you don't truly understand?

  • @TheSporth you are even more amazing

  • @TheSporth Yeah funny video, pretty birdie. Wish I had one in a giant aviary along with other living fossils.

  • It's a dinosaur! Kill it with fire!!!!

  • @axealot1 you is true. Nothin' but creationist propaganda here folks! LOL @ how the fail to mention that this is a super stinky bird that keeps other animals farrrrrr away!

  • As an evolutionanary zoologist the theory that the Hoatzin proves creation is utterly inconcievable, just because one scientist couldnt work out the evolution behind one birds digestive system does not proove that this bird hasnt evolved. Furthermore this is one animal out of millions of species, even if this bird hadnt evolved it would not disproove evolution as evolution has been scientifically and empirically prooved in thousands of species. Evolution happens, its fact.

  • @axealot1 Also, it's the only species to still have it's dinosaur-era hand claws.

  • @axealot1 do you mean by "couldn't work out the evolution" - that is to say create a seeming logical baseless story were by an advantage is created (sorry I just can't use the word evolved in that sentence). I just love being the first in my biology classes to come up with the explanations for these things. Goes to show using components of the theory supply simply speculation- sometimes mine. Evolution produces cancer, the creation produced extinctions.

  • @axealot1 "evolution has been scientifically and empirically proved in thousands of species. Evolution happens, its fact." What a laugh, if it wasn't so sad. You probably believe it. So what experiment has "empirically proved evolution"? Without side stepping the def. of evolution: all life having arising from some simpler primitive form. Not just eovlution means change.

  • @Howie47 Here's some examples that show evolution at work:

    E. coli acquired the ability to metabolise citrate after 31k generations (in effect making it a different species): Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (DOI: 10.1073/pnas.0803151105)

Some bacteria can now digest nylon (invented in 1937): Kinoshita, et. al., 1981. "Purification and Characterization of 6-Aminohexanoic-Acid-Oligomer Hydrolase of Flavobacterium sp. K172," Eur. J. Biochem. 116, 547-551 (1981), FEBS 1981

  • @foxhole8063 bacteria have a built in ability to adapt to different diets. Partially by swapping genes and trying different combinations. If we force a certain type of food on them they will follow a built in translation process. It has nothing to do with "random mutation's and survival of the fittest. Nylon is made of the same "amino acids" as the bio material of life that bacteria eat. So it isn't a miracle of evolution that bacteria also adapted to that diet.

    Thanks for reading!

  • @Howie47 I'm really sorry, but your assertion is confusing. It sounds like you're saying that the acquisition of this new ability was the result of genetic variation over generations. Which is true.

According to TalkOrigins (I can cite the actual sources if you like): "nylonases are exquisitely specific, act on no known amide bond other than the nylon beta amide bond, and have no relationship to any known protease. "

In other words, they couldn't have been there from the start.

  • @foxhole8063 Generations take place in bacteria in days! It has been scientifically demonstrated that these changes are done through "horizontal gene transfere". They search for an individual that has the ability to eat the new resource and then share his genetic make up. This isn't progressive evolution because bacteria go back to normal when removed from the new food source. T.O. just makes up disingenuous statements to confuse the facts. Life and Nylon are made of amino-acids.

  • @Howie47 HGT is an important element of genetic transfer - and evolutionary mechanism - among single celled organisms, since subsequent generations will have a new, different genome as a result. The fact that these later generations of Flavobacterium would otherwise go back to "normal" when removed from a nylon food source is a result of that gene no longer conferring any advantage to survivability; there's no selective pressure to retain it.

Besides, who said evolution was progressive?

  • @foxhole8063 "Besides, who said evolution was progressive?" If it ain't progress, it ain't evolving. Maybe you should watch the latest "Audi" add! It shows foot prints from tetrapod to man, then a fleet of Audis. With the words, "you can't stop progress". I guess the world didn't get the message that evolution doesn't mean progress. HGT shows Intelligent Design!

  • @Howie47 You just cited an Audi commercial? Seriously?

Biological evolution is defined as "the change over time in one or more inherited traits found in populations of organisms". (Futuyma, Douglas J. [2005]. Evolution. Sunderland, Massachusetts: Sinauer Associates, Inc. ISBN 0-87893-187-2.) ... or even just "descent with modification" (UC Berkeley).

ALL inherited change is evolution - from the growth of eyes to the loss of limbs.

So, HGT shows ID? Journal citation please?

  • @foxhole8063 That double talk is part of the deception and the delusion. It's like the American Indian learned about the government. "white man speak with a forked tongue"! Meaning they have double meanings. Meant to practice deception. They teach you it's just change with one hand, then when your not looking. They slip in Universal Common Descent and a single tree of life, with the other hand. And people like you can't even tell what's going on! Why? Why are you so gullible?

  • @Howie47 Right. So in other words, you don't know what evolution really is but you are certain it's a conspiracy, you can't back up your claim that HGT has anything to do with intelligent design, and the only authority you can cite on the whole thing is the advertising department of a car company.

    Thanks. This was depressing.

  • @foxhole8063 Are we loosing our composure then foxyhole? Your defense of evolution goes way beyond any love of good science. Because there is NO good science to back it up. That's why they have backed off of the progressive claim, sneaking out Darwin's back door into Mendel's house, and claiming, just change, any change, any damn change we can find; THATS EVOLUTION! Well changing a beer can into a stomped flat piece of aluminum hasn't evolved it, and dumbing your intellect down, isn't progress!

  • @Howie47 No, the "progressive" claim was thrown out during the beginning of last century because it didn't match the evidence from the fossil record or genetics. That's how science works: it makes new observations that either support or refute existing theories and hypotheses.

If you didn't lack even a rudimentary understanding of science, to say nothing of evolutionary theory, you'd have known that already.

  • @foxhole8063 You can watch a recent debate between scientist arguing this very point here.

thesciencenetwork dot organization/programs/the-great-debate-what-is-life/what-is-life-panel Dawkins & a couple others know that and end to the "progressive evolution" or TOL, of life from a common ancestor is the end of evolution. So they defend the idea. One scientist says their is no TOL but a bush. With many trunks. Dawkin's hates that idea. But that is what non-progressive evo means.

  • @Howie47 Again: "progressive evolution", or orthogenesis, was discarded early last century because it couldn't explain the physical evidence. It is NOT part of the theory of evolution.

And I'm afraid the TOL still only has one trunk:

Theobald, Douglas L. (13 May 2010). "A formal test of the theory of universal common ancestry.". Nature 465 (7295): 219–222.

Steel, Mike; Penny, David (2010). "Origins of life: Common ancestry put to the test". Nature 465 (7295): 168–9.

  • @foxhole8063 So how did the first form of life at the base of the trunk. Become the higher forms we now have, without any "progression"? Are you saying that fitness also has nothing to do with modern evolution theory? Don't higher forms evolve because of more "fitness". So finding an anti-biotic gene, more fitness, isn't "progress"? Evo's and Atheist just play word games to avoid the truth. Explain yourself.

  • @Howie47 "Evo's and Atheist just play word games to avoid the truth. Explain yourself."

No, how about you educate yourself. You're desperately crafting an argument that attaches some sort of non-existent long-term "goal" or perpetual "forward" motion to evolution so you can knock down a strawman of your own creation. Just because you don't understand evolution doesn't mean the scientific community is playing word games.

Oh, and I'm still waiting to know how HGT proves intelligent design ...

  • @foxhole8063 Hmm! So, I just don't understand it, need to get an education and you can't explain it. Sounds like you're the one lacking! So to the list "progress, fitness, complexity, specific information, evolution of life, etc." of what you don't believe about this theory, that you say you understand. I can add. You don't believe in a "nested hierarchy". Because evolution never produced any such thing. or- progessed from some simple condition of replicating chem. to a N. hierarchy!

  • @Howie47 I *did* explain it: the concept of progressive evolution was discarded LAST CENTURY in direct response to physical evidence from genetics and the fossil record. I also gave you sources that show genetic evidence of a common ancestor (backed up by fossils, morphology, etc.)

The rest of your comment just looks like one more strawman since I never said anything about complexity, fitness, or a nested hierarchy.

You're using your own definition of evolution to "prove" it doesn't happen.

  • @foxhole8063 If playing the idiot, by ignoring my questions makes you feel secure. Then have at it. But no you didn't explain how a single spot of replicating chemistry evolved into a nested hierarchy without making any biological progress. Or how a genome of O code didn't progress into a library that explains & directs an individuals development from a single cell! Which also is a progression of steps!

  • @Howie47 While on the topic of ignoring questions, please demonstrate how HGT shows intelligent design.

You're confusing incidents of increasing biological complexity with your own end-goal interpretation of "progress", which is - yet again - inconsistent with the consensus of the scientific community and the theory of modern evolutionary synthesis.

The gain or loss of limbs, organs, biological processes, abilities (to digest nylonase for example), is ALL EVOLUTION. It's all inherited change.

  • @foxhole8063 When and where did I define progress as having a "end goal". Now your just making "stuff" up. "increasing biological complexity" is considered "progress" in 99% of the world's minds! HGT is ID because there is no reproductive reason to swap genetic material in single celled life.. A totally secondary way of sharing genetic material to produce variations of offspring, smacks of ID. It also tells us that (random mutations and natural selection) is inadequate!

  • @Howie47 ""increasing biological complexity" is considered "progress" in 99% of the world's minds!"

    Except in the scientific community.

And your inability to see a reproductive purpose behind HGT means that intelligent design must be responsible? That's your proof?

Go back to quoting Audi commercials and making up your own definitions of whatever you like. I've had enough of your willful ignorance and selective skepticism.

  • @Howie47 is the childish younger less intelligent debater that has weak quotes, weak replies, using very strong words like "obviously (a product of ID)" with no 'very strong evidences'. It is funny to read your comments and I thank @foxhole8063 for having the patience with a naive youtube user like urself because it's amusing to read your replies. Also it's sad to know that alot of christians like yourself are very inadequate in handling a good argument, and usually end up embarrassing urselves

  • first of all...why do they not actually name the "evolutionary scientist" and cite specifically where it is that he/she said that. this is a simple appeal to authority argument. Second, i do not feel that they stressed enough its relation with Archeopteryx in that the bird's young STILL HAVE CLAWS ON THIER WINGS. thirdly, why is it so hard to think that a bird species would be able to acquire bacteria that would allow it to survive in such an environment compared to other birds of the area

  • wow omg are you serious.... i was actually interested in the vid until they started talking about that bullshit. its pathetic how these people are actually trying to convince others about a "creator" by using an animal.

  • Oh boy!! And that dumb JohnFaa thought hoatzin are too specialized to survive to the future! LOL! If he could only see this. Well, the first part of it.

  • Always trying to compete with evolution, but not even in the race! LOL!

Just go your own way creationists, and quit trying to bother the rest of the world. We won't come looking for ya.

  • Then why did YOU come over here to bother us, then?

  • high five!

  • The bird in the video is awesome... Just not the ideals being spouted in the video. I think that kids should have the right to learn about Darwin's Theory of Evolution.

  • haha. science aint really my thing, but all along I was thinking, damn all those theories about the evolution of dinosaurs and birds, this is perfect proof! turns out, nope. OBVIOUSLY and invisible whiteman in the sky made it. duh.

  • I LOLed hard about the one evolutionary scientists who shall remain nameless :-) Talk about intelectual honesty.

They certainly fear that if named the scientist in question will call them on their BS.

A bird with clawed fingers is any evolutionists *dream* come true. Such bird is *expected* to be problematic to classify, because it would be expected to have split from the others very early. That is compatible with both the primitive feature (clawed wings) and the unique, advanced digestion.

  • god made this flying gem

  • @Adeebster it's more like a flying stink bomb :-) it has claws like a crocodile, digests like a cow and stinks like a skunk.

  • Your biology is stuck in sixth grade, and your deductive reasoning is stuck in kindergarten.

    Jerk.

  • Actually this bird is a good link from a climper to a glider and to a bird. So you see evolution there. This bird is unique because it eats leaves but that is nothing unexplainable with that it just simply devoleped these characterictics. Probably in the begining it ate only alittle of the leaves and later it ate more and more. So it was a gradual process...

    I may be wrong...

  • Creationists never cease to amaze me with their willfully ignorant idiocy!

  • lol @ god

  • to dis prove the bible just read up to kane and able so adam + eve were created then they had two BOYS kane kills able and is banished and some how he ends up with childrean when the onley female human on the planet is his mother eve who most likely died

  • 'there is no evolutionary explanation, so this leaves us with god'

This is the typicall lazy and stupid thing most religious people do with things humans can't explain yet, just filling up the gaps with a God. That is why the average believer will allways be less inteligent than the nonbeliever... they point everything to a nonexisting God, rather than think for theselves!

  • @nymusnymus85 While Christians are floating around on their clouds, drinking heavens wine, playing heavens music and making love to the beautiful angels. Those hard working God haters, will be working their butts off to get to a little higher level of hell, to get away from the heat. enjoy. P.S. This bird looks exactly like the Archaeopteryx! Damn, those Darwinist sure like hiding things!

  • @Howie47 I think your floating in the clouds alright.

  • take it to creationist to take amazing things and make them boring can you fuckers just die out already we don't need you in the light, you worked fin in the dark ages please stop misleading the human race , i don't see bible studies solving evolutionary genetic disease

  • r u ppl sure that its not 1 of those dino birds.................man it even has claws i m ornithophobic

  • This bird has his own family! Therefor God made everything!

    LOGIC FAIL.

  • yep

  • 100 percent. You preach the truth.

Part of the reason why this bird is so cool is because of the fact that it is the 'dinosaur' bird; it is very similar to the archaeopteryx and represents a link to bird's strange, evolutionary past.

  • Actually every animal`s way of living and the function of every living cell confirms the truth of Genesis and tells us that God continuously rules the nature. However, to me it is most likely that naturalism is maintained by such a great number of secret antichrists that nothing will ever take away the dominance of naturalism in science until the Day of Judgement.

  • i was actually taking you semi seriously until i read that you believe there are a great number of secret antichrists... not only do you not believe in evolution but you don't follow your own scripture

  • To BallisticGinger:

2Thes.2:3 says: "...that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first..."

In my writing on the left side of my channel, I explain why I believe that the Judgement Day is now at hand, and if it is at hand, then it is likely (notice that I did use the word "likely" also in my previous comment) that the worldwide process of people falling away is almost completed, that is to say - the majority of the world´s people are now likely to be secret antichrists.

  • /facepalm...

    god-of-the-gaps much?

look at this lovely Ebola Virus that god designed specifically to.. wipe out human life if it spreads into a travelling part of the global population, yayyy glory to the creator.. uhh wait..

  • Its man made just like all bad things!

  • wanna buy a tinfoil hat to go with those crazy conspiracy theories?? ^^

  • Take the log out of your own eye & stop living in the material world! Arrivals P1

  • As opposed to living in your fantasy world?

    or what, the matrix?

I doubt you'll ever acheive much of anything with your life if you dont regard the world we live in to be paramount to our existence and continued prosperity, and as such the most important topic to research and understand, improve, control, and coorporate with... Guess what perspective will grant you the greatest life; fantasy-world guesswork, or real-world hard work ;)?

  • Why don't YOU "stop living in the material world!"

It would be doing the rest of us that live in the material world a favour, and I'm sure you'd be a lot happier in your immaterial world.

    Win / win I'd say.

  • you and family would too!

  • Nah, I'll stick with the material world for now, but you go on ahead. Don't wait on my account.

  • I wont!

  • So long then. Bon voyage!

  • I do find these comments amusing and it is a great demonstration of why religion and science should not mix.

As is clearly demonstrated, anyone who corrects the mistakes in the video gets voted down.

Anyone who uses the name of another deity, also gets voted down.

More than likely this comment will also get voted down because it doesn't worship JC with every syllable.

  • All praise is due to Jesus Christ, not Allah, as the Bible states "ALL THINGS are created BY HIM and THROUGH HIM"

  • Wow. Berean Beacon has been an inspiration to me for years. Thank you guys, you've helped me in my christian walk for a long time. God bless you all.

  • I really like Creation Moments. It plays a lot on my local christian radio station.

  • Funny thing about the Hoatzin's digestive system is that in 2008, it was discovered exactly how such systems could evolve in only a few generations thanks to Podarcis Sicula, a species that until a few decades ago only ate insects.

  • I simply don't understand how people automatically chalk explanations up to a god simply because science cannot explain conclusively on one subject at the present moment. But still, it's a remarkable bird specimen.

  • Hard to kick against thorns isn't it...LOL

    G-d bless

  • Beautiful bird.

  • Lovely!
