Exactly...thats what I did ;-) Even with the 22cm barrel you can shoot up to 3oo meters, if you have to go further, you need a SPR anyway. SIG 552 is my first choice for normal distances, although the hk416c would also be an excellent choice...
The 4,6mm round has no stopping power, your opponent will be able to fire back nevertheless. Thats why, special units are hesitating to buy the MP7... An assault rifle in .223 with a short barell is still the better choice...

I think the fragmenting .223 is very depending on the speed which it impacts to the target, and also depends on the degree of the impact. The Russian 5.45 has a deforming nose which causes yawing but this is also not a very reliable mechanism and also decreases penetration power. A "spoon tip" bullet can yaw extremely early after impact. Search it on Google after the 6.5 CBJ ST.

@HamzaReview, Navy SEALs rarely use the MP5 anymore, the M4A1 SOPMOD which is a more accurate, powerful, and almost weigh the same. There's 9mm bullets which can penetrate better then the 4.6x30mm, only thing really great about the 4.6x30mm is that it's more accurate.

It is a very nice weapon but i don't see this being adopted by professional counter terrorist units since that is cqb and they are trained to shoot for the head, in witch case mp5 is still king with the 9x19. If you use this for personal defense you're not only stupid you're also irresponsible since you want to shoot only the bad guy but not the pregnant woman 30 feet behind him. So it's marketed for fat people with fat wallets.

Marines don't get taught anything, they learn by practicing, so i don't know what you mean....
also both the MP5 and the MP7 are made by the same company, i think they know the capability of their guns more than any of us, if they say the MP7 is far superior to the MP5, i believe them.
@helix4811 Consider "teach" lack of a better term then...they do require guidance in training. I don't want to trash the weapon but in small arm the only significant difference was made with the wide spread use of modern optics. The design of the best are old ex: sig, ar, 1911 etc...and they can only improve. The problem is that manufacturers that aren't involved in "wars" need the cash and they only have the civilian markets and spec ops as target customers.
actually HK IS involved in war, most of the American M4's are colt-hk hybrids, they don't need alot of cash, and on top of that, they have recently started supplying the Americans with an LMG (its actually just an HK416 with a larger thicker barrel....)

The HK416 is an AR15 lower with the upper designed by HK and was meant to replace the M4 but never did in spite of it's superiority and fact that it was a gas piston system. So i guess the US army figured out that the differences are not that significant...optics are vital :)) i hate to be repetitious! All firearms are effective, as a reference watch Hickok45's channel.
HK M27 is the model, its actually just an HK-417 with a larger barrel, oh and the HK-416 has been proven superior, but the reason why the Army didn't buy it was because the USSOCOM budget was tight, so they couldn't afford it, same thing happened to the XM8 and the Scar-L......

I don't want to trash the weapon but in small arm the only significant difference was made with the wide spread use of modern optics. The design of the best are old ex: sig, ar, 1911 etc...and they can only improve. The problem is that manufacturers that aren't involved in "wars" need the cash and they only have the civilian markets and spec ops as target customers.

actually HK IS involved in war, most of the American M4's are colt-hk hybrids, they don't need alot of cash, and on top of that, they have recently started supplying the Americans with an LMG (its actually just an HK416 with a larger thicker barrel....)

The HK416 is an AR15 lower with the upper designed by HK and was meant to replace the M4 but never did in spite of it's superiority and fact that it was a gas piston system. So i guess the US army figured out that the differences are not that significant...optics are vital :)) i hate to be repetitious! All firearms are effective, as a reference watch Hickok45's channel.

HK M27 is the model, its actually just an HK-417 with a larger barrel, oh and the HK-416 has been proven superior, but the reason why the Army didn't buy it was because the USSOCOM budget was tight, so they couldn't afford it, same thing happened to the XM8 and the Scar-L......

Well a .22 LR is more than capable of penetrating the body unless it hits a bone...so if you use this to guard your house at night you are in serious trouble of shooting your wife too. They Invented JHP for a reason. In case of spec ops the problem is as with all new weapons the time and effort in training them with the new weapon. In this case the new is not that significantly better than the old. Beleve what you want mate! :)

@clevelandtyler2 You would need a class 3 dealers license and you could only buy the gun to show it to law enforcement / military personal. And the deadline to even get one for gun dealers was years ago. So its not possible to buy them anymore. And It was never possible for civilians to get one.

@clevelandtyler2 The "UMP .45" variant is a full automatic, double stack magazine version for military and law enforcement only and you need a FFL class 3 dealer license to own one. HOWEVER. There is a semi auto, single stack magazine carbine version called the USC .45 that you CAN own. Its costs about 3,440$. That's 3 thousand four hundred and forty dollars.

@clevelandtyler2 Yea same, as much as i love cool miltary guns i would not pay the insane amounts of money just for the semi auto civilian version when i could buy 1o guns for the price of 1. 11 more months till i turn 18 an can own long guns / shotguns. First gun im gana get is a runger 10/22, gun itself is only 200-300 dollars, ammo is CHEAP, you can mod it so much, and its a great gun to practice with being as ammo is so cheap and theres very little recoil.
