I saw this when I was about 7 years old and I have never been able to get this out of my head!!! I didn't know what show it was, I knew it was either Rescue 911, 20/20, or something to that extent...wow, it's just how I remembered it, down to the kid having a blue shirt....I remember my dad called me into the room to watch, probably wanted me to learn from it

The mom runs down there and says "what happened?" If I had glanced over the side of that balcony and seen MY baby laying on the ground below. You would not be able to get me to stop screaming, nor would I be able to run down the stairs, because my knees would have buckled shortly after screaming....

Noone is to blame - this was just a freak accident. However, never assume a child is being watched and if u have small kids under the age of 5 - either keep them in ur room or a baby monitor - that way when they are awake u wake up. kids are quiet and sneaky.

I really can't say that the mom is neglectful because she told the kids that they would go to the beach later, but the older boy took it upon himself to go out without supervision. Not only did the mom have to worry about the baby, she also had to worry about where the other boy and his friend were. Talk about having a bad day. I am glad the baby and the family are okay.
