I never thought to use the shield. Stupid me. He was real gracious with those energy balls. When I fight him, he just goes back and forth for like ten minutes and then releases a few energy balls. By then, I am usually so bored that I jump in the pit out of boredom. Either that, or he makes me mess up and I fall into the pit by mistake. Either way. Instant death.

the hard way, I still remember how my friends and I struggled it and I think I was the first of them to defeat Gate, XD we found it so difficult that many of us tried to damage the armor of Gate directly

It depends, if you do this with the shield (I was to young when I tried it so I never thought about the shield) then is easy, but if you do it without the shield is hell, X can attack from distance Zero without the shield requiers a super timing to avoid beign damaged by the ball nightmare attack, plus you have to get close and you are more likely to get affected by the nightmares Gate releases, I still remember none of my friends knew the shield was for that so we tried it

blue (a.k.a saber plus) slightly increases the z saber power and the purple (a.k.a shot eraser) destroys certain projectiles, you should use both of them

I made a video fighting Gate without using the shield, he's pretty easy but maybe not with the method I used. The first boss was harder than Max and Gate I agree.

Gate's fight is not easy, it's tedious because the first time I fought him he just stoped using his little balls for almost three minutes.

Gate was perhaps one of the easiest and dumbests bosses I've seen. All he does is the same thing over adn over and its really easy to dodge his attacks.
