  • whay year? I have a 2007 with exhaust and cold air intake and I about to get a chip for it hoping to get some good times

  • hmmm its pretty sad that a honda could beat my 1991 mustang gt ill have to run it down the strip to see how wquick it really runs

  • Hey, what RPM did you launch at and did you feather the clutch? Also VSA on or 2nd gear launch? Mad wheel hop here, also bone stock.

  • auto or manual?

  • @fuzztubeyou v6 6speed manual.

  • hahahahahhahaha Race a stock accord on a Drag strip!????????????Cmon LOL!!!! Hahaaahahhaha

  • ya so.....its about the same time as a stock wrx, but you wouldnt laugh if it was a wrx video

  • hahaha. So there is a list of cars that you cant run on a track? Hahahaha. Moron

  • retard atleast do some modz before you run it on a track like an idiot! hahaa!!!noob!

  • @nil1230 What's so wrong about running a stock car on the track? So a stock Z06 can't run? A stock GT-R can't run? You sir, have won the award for biggest douchebag of the year.

  • accord vs what? a corolla?

  • i dont have video of it but i have the timeslips. they are posted on driveaccord if you will tell me how to post them here or how to post the url in this comment box i will. i tried to copy and paste the addy but it wouldnt let me...

  • YEP,,,ALLDAY

  • the 06 accord coupev6MT in the other video ran 14.0 sec with just an exhaust system, fucking fast. What a misunderstood car

  • thanks for posting the vid , i see a lot of "ricers" throwing out ridiculous 1/4mi #'s for these cars,

  • umm.. yea, the above post was not posted to this video- I used the back button on my browser and put it on the wrong video

    !! MY BAD!!

yes.. I can agree that there is a lot you can do with a Honda- and they last forever. I own a Honda, but have to say that my Mustang is way funner to drive and hgandles much better. may not be as safe.. :) but anyway..

  • Im really not against the whole import vs domestic. My other car is a GM and i can say i like both of them. I will say that hondas are alot more effiecient and can produce more power then a domestic could same size engine. Althought i really dont like ford period. If i do go domestic i would rather go GM all the way.

  • all this talk about mustangs lol i just got my license suspended for 6 months after racing a 5.0 mustang and pulling almost 2 cars on him, and its not the first "muscle car" i beat on my 07 v6

  • haha. same i got the same thing for racing a cobalt ss in my 04v6!

  • On the stock 6spd coupe I have, I ran a 14.4@96 stock, 14.2@98 cai, 13.9@101 cai/evo2/urpulley.

Same track no doubt, Orlando Spinworld.

  • "On the stock 6spd coupe I have, I ran a 14.4@96 stock, 14.2@98 cai, 13.9@101 cai/evo2/urpulley.

I believe it. and im a crappy driver and i did a 15.01 at 98.00 first time ever at the track with my 06 v6 6 speed sedan with 14,000 on the clock.

  • ya, stock i ran 15.01 @ 95.6... thats when I first got the car. I havent been back to moroso since. In a few days we're gonna see what she does with V2 Intake, J-pipes with no cats, and borla exhaust...

  • I love how people think they can actually run faster at the strip while just adding an exhaust and new cold air intake or air filter. Maybe with better shifting you can break into those nasty 14's. I hear that's a pretty big barrier for you import boy racers. Right out of the box, no mustang would run under a 13.5, except maybe the 1960's GT350 and 500 cars. So a car from the 1960's could spank your Daddy's brand new Honda. And that thing didn't even have some huge Hemi or anything in it.

  • I like how you're comparing a 428 cubic inch 400hp carbureted V8 to a 181 cubic inch 240hp fuel injected V6. COME ON. A 7.0L vs a 3.0L??? Grow up man. A supercharged accord V6 is running high 12's on 4psi and still gets better gas mileage than any mustang made to this date. Not to mention Chevy is lightyears ahead of Ford. In 1999, camaros had the option of a 330hp motor while mustangs finally came out in 2005 with 300hp. Do your research before commenting, you make yourself look like a dipshit!

  • GET HIM.. HAHA. The Accord isn't a sports car either if u weren't sure of that. It is a daily driver and the V-6 is just there to give it a kick.

  • Well said, however - the reason Ford did not release a "high horsepower motor" at the time of the Camaro was that their focus is on fuel economy and affordability... They didn't have a need for a "high HP" car... And before you say that any company is lightyears ahead of Ford, just remember what all those production lines are designed after... The original Ford lines... :)

  • dont get me wrong shadow. A few "cheap" additions to the mustangs and they r great. They are relatively low compression stock and have good bottom ends. I'm just sayin from experience that the accord v6's (2003-2007) are the fastest to date. With intake, header, and exhaust you're in the 13's. Also I can only think of a few 3.0L 6 cylinders that make 240hp +... the BMW 330i for example. But that's not an economy car either. A good balance of economy + power output is what i look for in a car

  • Oh no, I hear you lol... My sixer with basic bolt-ons is only in mid to high 15's... Lots to go here, but with an investment of $6,000 I'll be in the low 13's, which is a big improvement, but at the same time... I could sell my stang ($7,000 let's say) and have $13,000 to buy an Acura for $2-3k and then spend about $10k and run ridiculous numbers... I just happen to love my Stang lol

  • lol @ shortaccords comment.

  • nice, im trying to keep mine stock but its hard not too

  • davesav6: i have a similiar mods on my ricer, but the POS autotragic :( , u must have a factory freak 6th gen? cya on v6p dot net lol... course im still banned there haha but im lurkin

  • What was the time? ANYBODY that takes a friggin' Accord Sedan to a dragstrip can come eat dinner at my place ANytime! Especially one that Yanks a Girly Corolla "TRD". What were they thinkin' in the Toyota boardroom w/ their Gay names?? The 'Matrix', The 'Corolla XRS' Please. "Good names Kizuko!! Super lucky best cool for American consumer!"

  • It ran a 14.7 at 96.

  • Ah-ha! Info I could've seen by hitting the "more" button. "I SEE!!" said the blind man. 96 mph in the 1/4 is nothin' to sneeze at especially for the package it's in! All these guys callin' cars slow that run in the 80's and 90's... I doubt any one of 'em would jump outta one going that fast.

  • I was just at Rockingham today. I have a 99 accord v6. Ram air, underdrive pullys. wheels+tires only 18 lbs reccaro style oem front seats. Underdrive pullys, spintech/borla exaust And ran 15.01 1/4, and 9.67 1/8. Reaction time of .13 Only thing is my tires are completly bald. But I don't see any bone stock accord running 1/4 in 14.7

I imagine that with new tires I will get low 14's. I spank stock accords all day long. Bald tires and all. Got a slip to post?

    Dave

  • Ok sry guys I just read 6 speed.

WOW NICE! I ran almost as good as the MT6. Mabe better with tires? This rocks because I have a MT6 sitting in my garage waiting to get indtalled. I will get this accord into the 13's with minor bolt ons, MT6 and apexi vafcII(in the mail as we speak)

  • I have CAi, synthetic oil with my 2007 accord v6. I run 14.35 Your not spankin shit. Even with new tires.

  • "I have CAi, synthetic oil with my 2007 accord v6. I run 14.35 Your not spankin shit. Even with new tires."

...your a lier and an idiot to put synthetic into your new car. there is a reason why honda recomends 5w20. and if your gonna tell me that you ran a mid 14's with an auto no less- your more full of crap...your just full of crap! hahaha

  • ..instead of flooring it in drive shift using d1-d2-d3-d4.. Its not hard Buddy.

These accords with the "Sport" shifting run 14.9 stock..

  • Except that does nothing. It makes the car hesitate to shift into the next gear. By just tromping on the gas, you're making the car do what it was designed to do. We have a 2007 Accord SE V6 in the garage and I drive it frequently.

  • No it doesnt make it hesitate, you can shift around 6800 or close rpm and it will land at its peak power of around 6500. You cant shift too early because yes there is some shift lag.

  • Except that it does hesitate. You flick it from 1 to 2 and it hesitates under acceleration.

  • "there is a reason why honda recomends 5w20."

Yeah, to raise their CAFE numbers. Engine is really made for 5w-30 as the 2002 engine was. But as a rule of thumb you can go up or down in weight by 10 without issues. So 5w-40 or 5w-20 would both be fine.

  • if u live in florida, a place that is pretty much hot year round, u can use pretty much any 5w-xx. i do however warn u to avoid single viscocity oil.

  • all that to run a 15? and your fightin for pink slips to be posted? lol. good luck with that.

  • ya i know i also have 04 i4 accord 5speed and its a big differnce comparing to auto

  • oh i c, cause i just bought 07 v6 AT and wonderin how will it do 1/4 mile

  • eh. v6 autos are nice, youll consistantly get 14.9 (obviously, cause you just gotta learn how to hit the gas). but there is a BIG difference when talking about v6 6 speed- and v6 5 speed auto. its all in the gearing my friend.

  • No, with the "sport shift" You actually get better times, the 7th gen Vtec engines produce most of their power at around 6500 rpm. All you dumbasses who redline it and then shift are losing power. So if your not a really good driver, Auto in this case would win.

With d1-d2-d3-d shifting, CAi, synthetic oil. And tromping the gas after 2000 rpm. I ran 14.35

  • "With d1-d2-d3-d shifting,CAi, synthetic oil. And tromping the gas after 2000 rpm. I ran 14.35 ..."

kids. dont try this at home. swifting between d1,d2, etc. is extremely bad for your auto tranny- especially hard exceleration. and synthetic oil under agressive driving breaks down extremely fast. a quick car, but not the smartest.

  • DUDE!There is nothing wrong with manualy shifting on an AT. I run full synthetic 0-40. I have for the last 75k mi. I drive like a maniac and get rpms into 6k+ very often. I am running on original tranny, and 5-7k between oil changes. Currently 175k on odometer. And car is pristine. Almost no valve noise at idle either.I am one of only a hand full with that kind of miles on original tranny.I also have the drag slip with my times. Your full of it thinking synthetic is bad.

  • Thank you.

  • It's obvious from your answer that you don't know much about how engines work. The 7th gen accord gets max power at 6250 and redlines at 6750. The reason any good driver revs to redline is because you want the revs to fall to as close to max power as possible after the shift. If you shift "at" max power than your revs will fall lower than they would have if you shifted at redline and it will take longer to get back to max power.

  • ..Ok.

  • As a clarification it's not always best to rev to redline. It really depends on the ratio of the gear you're currently in, the ratio of the next gear coming up, and the motor's powerband/profile (power available before and after the peak). In most cars you want to run up to or very near redline in 1st gear but in 2nd or at most by 3rd you start shifting further back from redline and closer to the point of peak power. There are calculators out there that will figure this stuff out for racers.

  • ...first, its not a motor (its not driven by electricity, is it?). Second, gear ratios are important to a point, if you have a turbo car (Aka neon turbo ...err, srt) they loose EVRYTHING up top becasue the turbo isnt big enough to help high rpms- so short shifting works. but with vtec, vvti, mvec, etc., those automobiles will work more efficiantly up top.

  • Look up "motor" in the dictionary. It's a completely acceptable reference to an internal combustion engine. While saying "engine" would be more specific, it's not required to be correct or understood in this context.

Also, it's not really so simple as to segregate shift points based on a car being turbocharged or using a variation of multiple cam profiles. Like I said, it's a calculation based on the current and next gear ratio and powerband profile. That's exactly what it boils down to.

  • lol yea its a 6 speed, and i was running against a corrola TRD

  • im assuming the corrolla was a xrs, mabye?

  • what car did you run against?

  • is this a 6 speed?

  • yesirr Orlando Speed world, yea i really want to get atleast a 2.25> in the 60' on street tires, but it takes practice.

  • i have a n 06 6 speed v6 sedan, black, im always watchin at the fense wtih my baby behind me and my friends. maybe we could run together;)

  • this was shot in bithlow, wasnt it?

  • work on that 60- and youll probably hit 14.5 :)
