The girl who fights with Fantine sounds like she has a cold. How awful would it be to be a part of this show and have a horrible cold. Or she just has a weird voice =)
It's ironic how in this Fantine's hair is brown and Cosette's is blonde, but in the 10th Anniversary Fantine's hair is blonde and Cosette's is brown...
but, other than the fact its very... morbid, the musicality is phenomenal. i disagree: this version is much better than the 10th. the whole show is better than the 10th
I don't think that the music from the 25thanniversary is as powerful as the 10th anniversary but I do like how they act things out more because its weird when he says to break up the fight at the 10th anniversary and they're not moving...
I don't like the woman who sings at 2:38. Her voice bugs me, as though its too forced and yet still weak. I LOVE Lea Salonga, though. She's been a favorite of mine since I was a kid.I'm so glad to see her here.
'with a husband at home and the bit on the side' hum, judging by the ohter woman's look after Fantine said that, it was NOT the thing to say. Very, very bad idea...
both Lea and Ruthie do an amazing job with Fantine. Lea's Fantine defends herself to the foreman with panic in her voice, while the tone of Ruthie's Fantine in this piece is one of defiance. i love them both!
Wow...Lea Salonga is simply the best...her magnificent voice is still powerful, her acting, her emotions...they all deliver within the standards of Tony and Olivier Awards.
I'm glad to see her here in the 25th anniversary as Fantine since she was the Eponine at the 10th Anniversary.
All of this is rather disappointing compared the 10th. The Workers are all weak in voice. The Foreman is rather monotonic-he's basically talking. Valjean has almost no emotion- fake tone
@RusDion Couldn't agree more. I think they annunciated to much. It doesn't really flow like the 10th anniversary. With no comparison though, it's very good!
I'm glad he says "sitting flat on your bum." In most versions they say "sitting flat on your butt" which I always found distracting. Feels too much like modern slang.

When I saw this with my mother she and I compared Lea Salonga's height to the foreman's. I said, "Is he really tall or is she really short?"
She just replied, "Yes."

Does that mean he got a boner? Cause if so, I'll die happy.
