Patti can do something a lot of singers cant do She can "add color" to a song. And you hear it best when she's singing duets like this. Adding color, entails adding little notes and inflections while her 'partner' is singing...its not easy to do AT ALL. You have to have a near perfect ear for when and when not to add to a note or word...and you have to be paying attention to what the hell you are doing. She does it in her sleep...like when she keeps saying, "the second, the second, the second!!"
