  • when i try to do that i hook it. anyone got any tips for me?

  • everyones body is different.

when you have shorter arms you need to find a power source, for some it might be hip rotation, for some it might be more of a lateral move of the hips and for others it may be an upper body rotation.

this dude clearly uses hip rotation and quite well but that doesnt mean its the only way.

people will have their own natural inclination to produce speed, i generate speed with my arms because they longer. and remember some just swing faster than others.

  • thats perfect movement... thats a power hip turn not too early... He is releasing all his power at impact and no power leaks thats a 300 yard drive on a fly min.

His back swing is perfectly on plane all the way thorough the swing notice how he doe snot over swing in the backswing - even if he came back about 6 inches in his swing he would not gain more distance but he would lose accuracy.

  • Too much rotation... less than 45 degrees open hips at impact is the average for PGA Tour drawers, and they accomplish the draw by sliding their hips instead of rotating

  • @TheGolfdu they accomplish a draw by a littl emore wrist rotation in the grip not hip turn.. thats how you pull the ball or hook it... hip turn stays the same but the wrist rotates a little more than normal for a draw... a cut you line up at the target then open your shoulders a little then swing at the target with same rotation as a slight draw

  • TON of POWER!! Great swing.

  • this is sick! how far did he hit this? 350?

  • would you clear your hips like this though for iron shots??? maybe not with so much speed per say.... but kind of the same movement.

  • @8fx4 yes even with your irons your hips rotate through... You want your weight to be forward and hips turned at impact... your swing ends at impact so to get the most power and accuracy your wight should be transferred through (NO SWEING) - the rest after impct is just natural but the swing is already over

  • @8fx4 Hi, I am a sheriff for the grammar and spelling police. The term you are trying to use here is "per se" not "per say." It is a latin term that means "of itself" so it is not applicable here.

The answer to your golf question is yes. The less speed you need the less forcefully you need to do it. Although you can notice McIlroy does it pretty close to this even on wedges.

  • absolutely perfect swing!!! this is the swing im looking for... ive been debating on whether or not my hips need to come around before my upper body does and in all my research and even with my own practicing ive noticed that i hit the ball straighter and longer when i swing with my hips through first. also i notice with this video he has great shoulder swing. not really to much arms. more of his shoulders bringing club back then forward!!! awesome this is what im striving for.

  • @8fx4 Also your body comes back with your swing and moves forward with your swing.. DONT move your hips, just shift your weight to start your down swing, this will auto move your hips... its all in the weight transfer. make sure you never straighten your back leg or its over and at impact your weight should already be transferred forward and your back foot should already be 1/2 the way up.

This is the issue I just went through... I just changed my entire swing... Work in progress lol

  • speed x mass=momentum so you have to connect your body mass to the clubhead at impact whilst generating speed and keeping the head square so thats four things you have to do in a hundredth of a second' that's where the talent is!

  • look at his left foot at impact.. thats not normal.

  • he needs to time it.

  • this guys not on the pga tour and rocco mediate is...golfs a weird sport

  • that went a long way

  • The editing fucking sucks can't see shit

  • he probably uses the same hip move to give it to his dog

  • Ole! Nice and powerful. Looks a little stuck. When the hips outrace the upper body that much, the right hand has to flash through to square it. Can't argue with impact though, so probably some things going on we can't see on video.

  • I am experienced player, teacher and extreme student of the game, and I love your swing. I would like to know more about how you score and if you have won any tournaments. Coiuld you answer this request on this page or email me. Thanks

  • that's an awesome very powerful swing, keeping your right heel on the ground just a squint longer will help you maximize that natural power by sequencing your lower and upper body halves. not to mention better accuracy.

  • @paulski6 hes not early at all bro, that was a perfect move, this swing is real fucking good, look how well he stays in that shot with all that hip movement, i seriously cant find anything wrong with this swing

  • @mattpennal Take it back shorter, turn your hips more. You don't need Bubba Watson pivot length to hit it good or far. A full hip turn, like Bubba, will help you do that though.

  • great looking swing. what do you play off??

  • That swing is perfect, looks very close to tiger woods swing.

  • shouldnt be a hard fix???!! this is a beautiful golf swing we will likely see this guy on the tour i wish it stated his name!!!

  • @holyrocnroll It's a good swing. I still contend something's off. I don't know if he tries to open his hips early, but it looks like it. Elbows maybe too close together in the bs. Spins his driver too much? (that is just a guess) Has very good bs pivot (better than some PGA Tour players, & near perfect), which is important. Fix the elbows (loosen), add tilt in ds & maybe bs, r foot down longer, "put on the brakes" later in the ds & he may have more forward lean, an upward hit, & will gain yards.

  • this is as good as it gets. perfect impact position.. should be on tour unless he can't chip and putt

  • Love the sound. Seems like hips are really spinning, but he seems to be able to keep the sequence somewhat in order. I don't think too many golfers could swing this way, let alone are physically capable to.

  • prone to pushes. hip spinning, firing his right hip at the target instead of turning his left hip out and pulling with the left side. this actually saps power from your legs, as the thighs and glutes aren't engaged. easy to spot by his right foot pushing off the ground instead of being lifted by the weight on the left side through impact as it should be. it's a lot like tiger's old "ole!" swing.

  • @paulski5 are you stupid? mmore axis tilt when he moves to the right side like crazy? that calls for a push every single time, he moves to his ride side to much so hes not going to get a consistent slide back to the ball they way hes doing now, so his head can end up in different places at impact sometimes he can stay on the right side or sometimes hes going to slide to much to the left causing open club faces and closed ones other than that the hip turn is fa nominal very sergio garcia like

  • @helenathena He hardly moves to the r side at all compared to some. Don't call me crazy. You have no idea tho. What calls for a push every time is what slicers do in the bs- reverse pivot. You need to study more video of HOF TOUR PROS. He already probly hits down on his driver- & that's with throwing the clubhead past his hands a bunch at the bottom- & you want him on his left side MORE? You are puuuuuuure nutty. This guy has too much ability for such nonsense. The hips need delaying at LEAST.

  • it's alright seen better!

  • way to get your belt buckle to the target

  • does i good job of keeping his head behind the ball. i would know because my coach is always telling me to do it becase i dont ahhaah

  • Great and very powerful golf swing. Very dynamic

  • Nice swing, but a bit too fast with the hips - hands and arms a touch too far behind the lower body movement.

  • Fantastic hip turn! He crunches it.

  • dude wtf take it easy

  • pwned the ball with athority

  • what kind of driver is that? it sounds awesome

  • @millkdy because he turns his shoulders to quick over

  • awesome swing I replayed a few times ....what do you recommend I do to work on better sequencing.

  • @paulski5 theres no such thing as firing your hips to fast

  • @helenathena there actually is and that's the biggest problem Anthony Kim faces. If you have seen Anthony Kim's swing, you will realize he turns his hip to almost facing the target at the impact and when he turns too quick he hits a hook and as a result he misses the fairway.

  • @helenathena NOnononono. I did not say too fast. I said too early. Big difference. Big big big huge difference.

  • Good swing....I have the same hip turn and rarely hook the ball as long as I stay behind the ball at impact then release. Hit it staight 270-285. When I tried to restrict my hips.....230-240 at best. Nice VID.

  • I'm really surprised how many people don't talk about howmany problems THAT much lateral movement will cause. It probably is a very ineffecient and inconsistent swing. I'm thinking he push fades the ball a ton. Or snap hooks.

  • perfect

  • this the fucking true way to drive the golf ball, its all in the hips good job man, and no never tilt the spin it can cause a open club face

  • good vid great power move

  • what do you golf wanna-bees know about any dam swing LOL

  • Woah.

I don't play a lot of golf - but I love the game.

    And just, wow.

    That is brilliant.

Truly, the way you stay balanced and centered. The clubhead speed. The angle retention you produce is just ridiculous.

    Really, really good swing.

  • great looking swing; clearing the hips, staying balanced, you can learn alot from this swing.

  • wow way too much lateral movement.. how your hooks going champ.

  • @Denger22 , ive seen guys with more lateral movement and they hit it 320 straight , if you live @ the driving range it can be done

  • @Denger22 too much? no you keep your hips sliding forward all the way until impact.

  • gotta be on tour somewhere , 300+ carry

  • Really good swing. Great impact. Who is he?

  • rate my swing plz

  • I could watch that all day...

  • awesome you gotta clear the hips so you finish your swing , this guy is good

  • just stop... please

  • good shoulder turn , and start with hips and stay behind the ball.

  • Great swing. A lot like Hogan's action except the right foot stays back through impact while his slid towards the target slightly leading to a more upright finish. Good job. I bet that shot flew 310.

  • everyone who tries to tell him how to improve sould shut up, its a great swing and probably works well, simple as!

  • That's one of the best swings I had ever seen!

  • looks like hes sliding a bit with his hips, where he should be just having everything rotate around the axis. I could be wrong though.....I'm not quite as good as hank haney.

  • I think he fires his hips too early and maybe needs more axis tilt. Great backswing and no dount he can hit it but something doesn't look right there. Shouldn't be a hard fix.

  • @paulski5 i disagree if he were to get rid of that early hip move, he would probably lose like 30 yards. hes taking advantage of the x factor stretch.

  • @paulski5 Are you crazy? too early? No its perfect he fires his legs first then hip shoulders and finally his hands. I think you've been taking too many tips from tiger.

  • @atgunponi06 you are correct!

  • Nice swing...

  • thats nice but can u put?

  • ernie els like

  • Very nice

  • great swing nice extension and coil very smooth.

  • powerful move. does he hit it pretty low?
