Maybe there's something a little too comforting about the phrase 'Save the planet'.
Everybody knows the planet is a big hunk of iron and rock utterly indifferent to whether we live or die. The planet will be fine. It's those little things on the -surface- of the planet that we're killing.
And we may be next on the list.
Human beings seem to be good at crippling panic and at paralyzing indifference. Somehow we have to find that Goldilocks middle ground in between where we do something.
Odd response, since "Save the Planet" is never said in this video. It was said in one of the late George Carlin's standup routines --- belittling human self-importance.... as does this video.
I always try to say something original and I just end up being incomprehensible.
What I'm saying is that we have to save the biosphere.
I think the reason it's so hard is that natural selection never built into our DNA the instinct/drive to 'prevent the biosphere from being destroyed'.
By instinct, we assume that if one location becomes depleted of resources, we can just move on.

I agreed.

Corporations are sort of like fire. And at the moment they're a wildfire sweeping around the earth.
Fire can be tamed, though, and put to good use, if strictly regulated.

That's the kind of music and message our children should be learning.
