  • I have no doubt that Gene would have beaten Mr Lee in a real fight

  • Bruce learned from many different people. He didn't emerge from his mother's womb with martial arts knowledge. Your pro-Bruce Lee bias is a little childish. The only martial arts Bruce had formal instruction in was Wing Chun. So where did he learn kicking, grappling, submissions? He learned from many different masters, and then created his own style. I have no problem believing Gene was one person Bruce learned grappling from Gene. If Bruce wanted to learn grappling, he'd go to a Judo master.

  • @motmaitre

I also assume you wasn't blasted out from your mother's loosen vagina with all knowledges, so I believe Gene LeBell must be the turd ass who fucked your mum and taught you all the things you know about.

Your entire logic that because Bruce Lee learnt from many people so everyone is qualified to call oneself his teacher even without any proof is completely is totally absurd.

  • Bruce lee would have made light work of milo savage who Gene made hard work of.

Im sure Lebel showed Lee some of his moves, but then again, bruce lee showed Lebel someof his jkd.

Bruce lee probably knew lots of grappling already as he researched so much, with his 10000s of books. But Davis Miller spreading rumours of what Lebel supposedly said. Lebel would never do that when Lee was alive, stir gossip behind Lees back as Lee would call u up on it.

  • @iluvcliffrichard

Davis Miller is another guy, like Joe Rogan (a clown), hooking up with Gene LeBell.

Davis said he knows Joe Lewis very well and attributed lots of the bad mouthing things to have come from Joe Lewis, and pretending he has a good relationship with Joe. But Joe made it clear in a separate interview that he never said those things mentioned by him. I think Davis Miller learnt a lesson now after making a fool of himself.

  • Bruce lee was fearless, he was outspoken when alive and no one challenged him on that. He could put down styles, karate, tournaments and no one told bruce lee to be quiet cos they know what he could do and knew he knew what he was talking about.

Bruce said he could beat anyone in the world and i dont re call anyone calling him deluded.

  • @iluvcliffrichard

It's no doubt that Gene LeBell is taking advantage of Bruce Lee, you can obviously see when you read the fireman's carry story carefully, and which he also talked about in various events. These guys are the biggest Bruce haters out there.

Gene LeBell is also trying to steal the honour from Bruce Lee by calling himself the father of MMA.

  • @IpMan19

Its obvioius, Lebel would never mention that firemans lift story when Lee was alive. Its good Lee had a sense of humour as he would have destroyed Lebel for lifting him, when he didnt want to be lifted.

Lebel was subserviant to Bruce lee when he alive, all martial artists knew the pecking order and their place in it, there was no misunderstanding or trying to mislead people when Lee was alive.

Lee wouldnt allow that, and lebel knows that as did all of Bruce lees peers.

  • @iluvcliffrichard

    Yeah!! That's right.

Gene LeBell is old but a smart ass. By saying he trained with Bruce Lee privately, nobody could rebut that it's a false claim because 'privately' means nobody else was there.

  • Hahahahahaha Wow your a Gene Labell hater lol

why do you hate him so much? did he put you to sleep or something? I dare you to hate on him to his face! he will pulverize you even at his old age now lol

  • @ROBOSKOT to his face!??

    Listen idiot!!

We emailed Gene but he never dared to face us. What we received is a message saying he didn't got any proof to rebut the challenge of this video from his stupid web guy. LOL

  • @IpMan19 we??? who is we? lol your a fucking LOSER!!!!!! hahahahahahah

  • @ROBOSKOT

    ->who is we?

You are one of the mutant retards shit out on the street by a big pussy whore. lol

  • You're right man. And it isn't only Gene Lebell. When Bruce Lee was alive, Chuck Norris and Joe Lewis never said a bad thing about Bruce. But after he died, they started saying Bruce couldn't beat them or that he wasn't a fighter. Now that they're old, they use Bruce Lee's name again to generate income for themselves.

  • Ipman19. Are you a certified Jun Fan instructor? Under whose lineage? Those of us who are instructors are very clear about Gene LeBelle's influence on Bruce and his art. We consider him an "advisor". You don't think Ed Parker had an influence on SiGung as well? If Larry Hartsell (RIP) were alive I don't think he would agree nor be too happy with what you are spreading. Finally, uncle Gene is just straight up a badass! Why do you have such an issue giving Sensei LeBelle his due?

  • @kdonovan512

"Those of us who are instructors are very clear about Gene LeBelle's influence on Bruce and his art. "

You're only very clear about what Gene LeBell told you. Real or not it's unproven.

" Gene is just straight up a badass!"

No, Gene is an over praised timid.

Gene never dared say anything about Bruce when he was alive, everything he said about him (especially those boasting he was his teacher) is after decades of his death.

  • The loser that posted this video needs to go to Gene's school and talk this BS. Gene is a nice guy and a great coach with respect from everyone. This is why the internet is full of haters with no life, no history, that never met Lee.

  • @tonyvalente

Gene LeBell is a racist, watch his talk in inside MMA, this timid never dared to say a word about Bruce when he was alive, everything he said about him is long after Bruce's death and UNPROVEN.

It's no need for you to talk any bullshit here. If you think I'm wrong. Prove it!! Or you're just a real life loser and should find somewhere to dig a hole for yourself.

  • @IpMan19 your Wing Chun school must be a crack house. your mother does granny porn loser.

  • @tonyvalente

Wow..here comes an example of a typical anxious loser abusing people's families after he was proven wrong, stupid and lost in the argument.

I know that's what your mother and grand did in Gene LeBell's school. I feel sorry I have to point out that I don't go to his school and not everyone is like your family.

Like I said, find a hole somewhere and continue to live in your fantasy world. I don't have time to heel your pain. Sad for your family and your ancesters.

  • the one who uploaded this video just want to say that Ip Man was Bruce Lee's real teacher

  • @vincearizala Ip Man wasnt Bruce Lee's teacher. Bruce Lee was a young student that was taught by Ip Man's senior students William Cheung and Sihing Wong Shun Leung . Bruce was kicked out of the school because his mother was half German, the other senior students pressured Ip Man to kick him out. Bruce was only about 17 when he went to the US, he was never fully trained in wing chun.

  • @Yutubetopteensingers Oh, I taught Yip Man teached Bruce Lee Wing Chun after losing to some rival bullies.

  • @vincearizala

Are you dreaming something out of your ass?

When both Yip Man & Bruce were around you were only like a tadpole finding your way into your mother's cervical entrance, you stupid Asian slaves of Americans never qualified to give a shit!

  • about your PROOF, well its your right to believe and think as you wish. Bruce died the year I was born, I cannot give you a picture of them together none were taken as those were private gatherings. believe as you wish ok.

  • Umm pardon me, Intelligence had nothing to do with this I never claimed Gene was smart,

all I was saying was facts. I know he was smart he's a fkn Gorilla. But even a Gorilla can be kind to others.

  • Whoever you are just get your facts straight , my mistake was using the word "was" after stuntman cause thats what he STILL is doing at over 70 years old.

  • @ManicVille

Gene LeBell acts like shit, his stunts are like something can even be perfoemed by a kindergarden kid.

That's why Gene never got a big role to play in movies. Simply Gene has no talent at all.

  • who ever wrote this garbage about Gene dunnu SHIT about him HE was a stunt man for god sake he got paid to get abused and make OTHERS look like killers, well my friend try confronting someone like Bas rutten with this theory you have of no proof no pictures and he will show you some physical proof and theories. I have no Disrespect at all fot Bruce Lee,

as a Martial artist or an Actor or a wonderful person but your spreading lies and doubt over the real truth here.

  • @ManicVille

Gene LeBell has no proof for his stories about his relationship with Bruce, that's true.

My colleague already emailed Gene Lebell's ESTATE, and got it confirmed.

It's up to individual whether his stories are trust worthy or not. For me it's certainly NOT.

  • Bruce never acknowledged anybody but Yip Man as his teacher - but that was as much vanity as anything else. He certainly did not hesitate to call himself the teacher of the likes of Chuck Norris, Ed Parker, Joe Lewis, etc. They all thought they were exchanging ideas, and did not consider him their sifu as such. His "proper" students were Dan Inosanto et al.

Anyway what's your point? You think Bruce was born knowing grappling?

  • @profwaffel

"You think Bruce was born knowing grappling?"

You think Gene LeBell is the only source for learning grappling? Idiot!

  • @IpMan19

If you think you are serving Bruce's memory by calling other people idiots, you are way off. Anyway, who do you consider Bruce's grappling teachers then?

  • @profwaffel

So, you really think Gene LeBell is the only shit knows grappling in the world. Poor bastard!

  • @IpMan19 You failed to reply to my simple question: If Gene Lebell was not his grappling teacher, who was? Why are you on a quest against Gene anyway? Is this some kind of chinese vs caucasian thing? And please refer from calling other people idiots, it just reveals your insecurity about yourself. Seriously.

  • @profwaffel

I don't even think I should reply to that stupid question. You're simply mind stucked into that if Bruce knew grappling it must be attributed to Gene LeBell like he was the only judo guy on earth.

Bruce started fighting on the street even since as a child, I'm pretty sure he was aware of judo & what grappling is long before Gene LeBell met him.

  • @IpMan19

Dan Inosanto on Bruce Lee: "He personally researched grappling arts like Chinese chin-na, Wally Jay’s jujitsu and Japanese judo, and he trained with Gene LeBell. "

    (triple w dot)blackbeltmag(dot)com/daily/mixed-martial-arts-training/boxing/jeet-kune-do-grappling-dan-inosanto-talks-about-bruce-lees-ground-fighting/

Still not convinced? What do you need?

  • @profwaffel

I don't know how many times I should repeat this for the stubborn morons like you.

Yeah, Inosanto has mentioned Bruce trained with Gene, so have many others, but he didn't say he witnessed it. So, how did he know about it? Of course, it's pretty likely that this is what Gene LeBell told him while he had been training with Gene LeBell.

  • @IpMan19 LOL he was not told this by Gene, he spoke to Bruce who was his best friend at the time. You were probably born years later and have never met either Bruce, Gene or Dan. Apart from that, I end this enlightening conversation with one word: psychotherapy.

  • @profwaffel

So, now you changed your words and claim that Dan Inosanto said Bruce told him he trained with Gene LeBell. LOL

Where did you find that statement? Losers like you who can't substantiate themselves for their argument need psychotherapy.

And even if they really trained together, but means what?

Overall, you still can't rebut me that Bruce never referenced any of those you mentioned his teacher. Gene LeBell is the loser, shamelessly upgrading himselfBruce's teacher.

  • @IpMan19 Come on man, there was no tradition of judo training in HK at the time. Bruce only started cross-training after he arrived in the US. JKD is a perfect eastern-western development not occupied with nationalism. Walk on.

  • @profwaffel

Are you saying because Bruce started working on Judo since he arrived at the state, so Gene LeBell must be his instructor, as he was the only and most acclaimed legendary Judoka in your mind?

    What a poor ignorant guy..

  • @profwaffel

People tagged Joe Lewis Bruce's student because Joe Lewis refers himself a student of Bruce Lee. In the traditional Chinese martial arts, each student of a master has a formal certificate to clarify this relationship. Joe Lewis, as well as other Bruce's famous students, they all have one too.

Bruce Lee handled his CHAMPION students like a mother to her children, that was spoken publicly before Bruce died.

  • @IpMan19 Quote Joe Lewis: "Bruce Lee always called me "Joe," and I always called him, "Bruce." Bruce told me he was not a master but rather a student master. He called himself this because he felt he was always still learning. He joked about some who called him "sifu."

  • @profwaffel

That only reflects Bruce's kindness. Bruce could have called Joe Lewis student, just because he didn't like it that way doesn't mean he was not qualified to.

  • In the # 2 story Gene is referring to Ironside. "Another time I did a martial arts demonstration with Bruce. I was throwing a bunch of people all over the place then Bruce came out and threw me using a judo throw. I’ve even got a tape of that somewhere around the house." It was a scene of a martial arts demonstration, not a proper demonstration. You didn't get the context.

  • @profwaffel

In the # 2 story Gene is NOT referring to Ironside.

    In that Ironside episode:

He was NOT the demonstrator. Bruce was.

He did NOT throw a bunch of people all over the place. He was one of those got thrown.

He did NOT demonstrate with Bruce. He was a tool, a punch bag, used by Bruce.

    You didn't get the context.

  • @IpMan19

No, first Bruce demonstrates with Gene, then Gene demonstrates with a woman, throwing her and getting her into an arm lock. Then Bruce comes out and throws him using a judo throw. He was talking about scenes he did with Bruce.

  • @profwaffel

In story #2, Gene never mentioned it was a movie or TV scene. Find the article you idiot!

  • what is the problem he said he taught Bruce lee for one year judo, he cannot taught him judo privately ?

Sorry your video don´t make sense

  • @sexoja23

    Your comment doesn't make sense!

Of course Gene can say whatever he wants when he knows now it's long after Bruce's death. But there's simply no proof that Gene trained with Bruce privately for over a year and there's no evidence support his other stories spoken about Bruce either.

So, whatever Gene LeBell said can't be taken as facts. That's the point being brought across. You stupid cunt face retard.

  • Comment removed

  • @IpMan19 are you mad? did he choked you? lol

  • @sexoja23

No! Should that old turd dare to get close all I'd need is a straight middle that will send this old shit light years away before he's even able to touch me.

  • bruce exchange knowledge w/top fighters even train w/them & learned from different styles amazingly.but doesnt mean they were His teacher.

  • @SimplyMJfan

Absolutely agree! Let alone the fact Gene can not show any proof that he really taught Bruce, Gene's lovers like to call Gene Bruce's teacher on a sole purpose to promote their idol.

  • Well I don't think Gene is really a bad dude. I think Bruce & him were good acquaintances. Gene said in an interview that he never beat Bruce Lee in any fight, that many people like to lie about saying that he choked out Bruce. He said that incident was that they were playing on set, and he picked up Bruce, Bruce was laughing & telling Gene to put him down or he will kill him. There was never a fight. Bruce liked to learn from MANY masters & books, so I do believe Gene & Bruce traded knowledge.

  • @wonphi

The point is even the fireman carry story described by Gene LeBell can't be proved as there is no 3rd witness statement to support this story. Lots of people talk about that but none of them is known to be a witness. If it's true why Gene LeBell had to tell this story so late after all people he named were died.

Simply exchange some knowledge with one another does not lead to a teacher-student relationship.

  • I guess it doesn't matter that Dan Inosanto, Jerry Poteet, Taky Kimura, Richard Bustillo, Larry Hartsell, Linda Lee, John Little, Tom Bleecker, Diana Lee Inosanto, Shannon Lee, Robert Lee, and others know Gene personally, call him "Uncle Gene" and they all know and agree that Gene was Bruce's grappling instructor.

  • @RKosche1

Source me where did any of them you mentioned above have said Gene was Bruce's teacher.

More importantly, how they know? Don't tell me just because they heard Gene LeBell said so.

I sent this video to Gene LeBell and he so far did not give a reply to me.

  • @IpMan19 I have not read it, I have heard it in person from these people. Do you even know who they are? Either students of Bruce or Gene, or both. Diana Lee Inosanto is Dan's daughter and you can email her for confirmation yourself. Robert Lee is Bruce Lee's brother and he admires Gene and remembers his brother talking about Gene. Shannon Lee is Bruce Lee's daughter and she has hosted Gene LeBell as a speaker at numerous events to share his experiences with her father.

  • @RKosche1

You don't need to refer me to others' statements which have already been talked about over & over again. Most people who say Gene taught Bruce Lee are actually not witnesses but more like just rephrasing what Gene LeBell told them when they were trained by Gene LeBell.

Furthermore & like again, if Gene really had such a good relationship with Bruce & both trained each other for over a whole damn year. Why there's not even a picture taken of them outside the movie or TV scenes??

  • @RKosche1

You have heard it in person from these people. Wow..., what a solid evidence?

  • @IpMan19 Here, try going to this link. I am not sure if it will work out of here. However, Gene has been a guest, numerous times at Bruce Lee conventions and asked to speak about one of his most famous students (you guessed it, Bruce). Bruce Lee's family is at these events and they appreciate Gene sharing his memories. You have to ask yourself why they don't have a problem with Gene if it was not true?

  • @RKosche1

"You have to ask yourself why they don't have a problem with Gene if it was not true?"

Well, you got to face the fact that no Lee's estate member is more clear about what Bruce was doing than Bruce himself.

Because Gene said he trained with Bruce PRIVATELY. So, who the fuck could tell whether Gene is talking the truth since no 3rd person was present.

  • @IpMan19 Didn't work. Try going to rhythmarts dot om slash BruceLee slash bleephoto dot htm

  • @IpMan19 Oh, I was going to stop, but I just remembered another one. Mike Vendrell - you can find him online and ask him yourself. Mike Vendrell was Bruce's friend and Brandon Lee's martial arts instructor. Mike took Brandon to train with Gene LeBell because Brandon wanted to train with some of the same instructors his father trained with.

  • @RKosche1

"Mike took Brandon to train with Gene LeBell because Brandon wanted to train with some of the same instructors his father trained with."

This is another contradiction to Gene's own statement. If you go to his website, you see he said: "The Vendrell Vice") introduced us and asked me to work out with Brandon. Brandon said, "You really want me to work with this old man?"

And then Gene LeBell got mad..

So, whatever you hear from others out there is not necessarily true.

  • @RKosche1

It's your problem if you can't tell the difference between a training partner and a teacher.

Gene LeBell was utmost one of the training partners of Bruce Lee for sometime, certainly not his teacher.

I've an early 80s documentary about Bruce Lee. Gene LeBell voluteered to give a talk there. But people only referred Gene LeBell a STUNTMAN who ever WORKED with Bruce Lee. Nobody tagged him Bruce Lee's teacher.

  • @RKosche1

", and others know Gene personally, call him "Uncle Gene"

No matter what these people call him, it has nothing to do in proving his relationship with Bruce.

  • Most people don't want to look at the facts, & thats what it comes down to is what the facts are. Guys like Joe Rogan talk out of their ass. As do most people. BL learned Wing Chun From Ip Man everyone knows that. theirs proof of it In photos of him & Ip Man. Lebell said in an interview BL beat me up 47 times B4 i knew who he was ,He was talking about film work of course not real fighting, But still. Show me the proof america. For the most part BL was self taught people deal with it.

  • @gungfu76 The question is why do you want him do have been self taught from books? You seriously think you can learn as well from a book as from a seasoned martial artist? Bruce learned jujitsu from Wally Jay, Judo from Gene Lebell, TKD kicks from Jhoon Rhee, fencing from his brother, and studied Choi Li Fut kung fu under another teacher, to name some. BTW his primary wing chun instructors were Wong Shun Leung and William Cheung, given his part german heritage.

  • @profwaffel

"Bruce learned jujitsu from Wally Jay, Judo from Gene Lebell, TKD kicks from Jhoon Rhee"

The point is: Did Bruce Lee ever reference any of these people his teacher?

You don't seem to know the difference between a training partner & a teacher.

Gene LeBell is no way Bruce's teacher, he bitch acted to claim he was Bruce's teacher long after Bruce passed away, which is a bit of an insult to Bruce and his reputation is over inflated by stupid caucasian fanboys like you.

  • @IpMan19 "stupid caucasian fanboys like you" - that's what I thought, this is a racist thing. I am out of here, regretting I wasted my time. Bruce Lee turns in his grave, this does nothing to honor his legacy and cultural openness.

  • No one has ever really said that Lebell was BL teacher . But just cause someone shows you a few moves dose not mean they are your teacher & It dose not mean that your their student. Freinds can compare notes or techniques but in no way dose that imply a teacher student relationship.

  • @gungfu76

"But just cause someone shows you a few moves dose not mean they are your teacher & It dose not mean that your their student."

That's right! And it's the point I'm trying to bring across.

But the fact is many American idiots treat this Gene LeBell as Bruce Lee's teacher just because Gene LeBell said so publicly many times.

  • Not sure what to think Of Lebell i know he knew BL & did work with him on the green hornet . BL trained with alot of people in his time but theirs not real prove that Lebell was his teacher . He may have showed him some grappling but Its a fact the BL always read lots of book on all types of martial arts so im sure he had books on grappling. I respect Lebell for his work in fims & grappling. but if he did teach BL grappling why is their no footage of it?

  • @gungfu76

"but if he did teach BL grappling why is their no footage of it? "

Yep, that's something I already pointed out and mentioned in this video.
