  • The piano shines in this song. It's simply beautiful.

  • Haunting

  • Great post

  • Everything Seger does is brilliant. This song is very hard to listen to. Too beautiful-too true.

  • I was in the Army - 80's and 90's - in alot of bad places, and finally 'came home'. But you know..... i never really did. Only in this song. He got it so right! And now?...... well, i still dream of 'home' and someday "coming home"... Thanks Bob

  • @scamp08gator Your comment is so touching.........Bob is the one musician who knows how to reach out and touch us in such a beautiful way!

  • Comment with respect to a top comment from Powermaddd one year ago . . . Bob Seger is great, Bruce Springsteen is great . . . our blessings for having both to listen to and enjoy. Surely you never heard County Fair by Bruce. I treasure those specifics in a song to hear, as I (and most) have lived them. No burden, ever. Thanks Bob and Bruce . . . and ROCK ON!

  • cosi celeste, she's my babe.... zucchero stolen this song!

  • This is such a great song. It should been a BILLboard HIT in 1970!!!! Before the Boss made a hit song!

  • They don't come much better than Bob, another beautifull song that touches the soul....

  • you can always go back to where you were born and raised but if there isnt anything there left to remind you of home it isnt home anymore i go there just to visit my dads baurial place

    love ya Dad

  • This song makes me cry, so beautiful......

  • "There aren't any open doors when one tries to come home"...Miss you all..Take Care..

  • As I listen to this song, I sob like a little child. I think of my parents. I lost my mom 12 years ago and dad just passed in Jan 2011. I flew "home" and spent 5 weeks with him, and then 1 month later, I was at his funeral. It was at that point I realized that this place was no longer "Home" because it wasn't the "Place" that made it home. It was those 2 very special people that made it "Home". They made it the soft place I could land, if I ever fell down.

  • This song has a special meaning for the Norwegian soldiers serving in Lebanon during the civil war and the Israeli invation back in the beginning of the 80's!

  • Oh, and "Shame On the Moon," too.

  • Just amazing.So underrated.

  • i learned that I couldn't go home until I left...

  • This was the last collaboration with Barry Beckett-piano, Pete Carr - guitar, Roger Hawkins - drums, David Hood - bass, Randy McCormick - keyboards better known as the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section. He did work with Beckett again in Nashville. Maybe I'm biased because Muscle Shoals is my home but to me he was at his best during those years.

  • 4:00 ---- a wailing saxophone is the absolute hallmark of a memorable, beautiful song... So good!

  • I ve been away from home for over 20 yrs . My dad passed away 11 yrs ago .

I finally made it back to visit his grave . This song was on the radio when I pulled

in the grave yard . I cried my heart out because I wasnt there when he passed .

I finally made it home . I miss my dad .

  • @daniel777891 Your comment touched me~I hope you have found peace! Maybe your dad had something to do with the timing of that song. take care......Debbie

  • @daniel777891 we will miss our dads til we pass, mine has been gone 23 yrs think of him everyday, i have a bunch of pics of him for my screen saver and it seems like 8 out of 10 times when i go in computer room his pic comes on screen with his police uniform on like he is saying hi son im watching you lol. I smile everytime i see him. Love you Dad.

  • @chance501 Same thing here folks about the screen saver. Boath mom and dad went within seven months of each other. Just in the past year at that. Not a day goes by I don't think of them both but to be able to look over at the monitor that was sitting idle and have both their faces pop up smiling....well lets just say it helps to get me through my day sometimes.

  • @ObaryMskyJ100 Sorry about your loss, thats a rough one, the same year, God Bless. All i can say is stay strong, and you will get throught it. I wish you nothing but the best.

  • @daniel777891 I'm glad you made it Daniel..... You pops is smiling now... Thanks for sharing.

  • What is the picture at 1:25? where is it from?

  • @87KillerJoe its the album cover from his Mongrel album - released in 1970.

  • @stlblair Thank you very much. This song is wonderful. The piano reminds me an italian song "Così celeste" by Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari. Do you know?

  • @87KillerJoe non è che "ricorda", sono le stesse esatte note... XD

  • This got to be my favorite video of Bob Seger's. Still cant believe its been 35 years since i seen him in Seattle

  • This is my all time favorite song by Bob Seger. Fits me to a tee.

  • Once again I am in tears in the middle of the library.

  • @TGREY60219215 not gonna cry, not gonna cry...

  • @AdamsApple1963

Bet you did cry. I know I did!

  • @booknplays It's the most beautiful song Bob has ever done..."Beautiful Loser" is a very close second.

  • Beautiful Blair! Your choices of songs it excellent. The best rock entertainer ever!

  • Tears? yep

  • Bob Seger has a story in every song. This and "I Wonder" are two of my favourites. His new album is great.

  • this makes me think of my dad

  • Fuckin' aye, man.

  • if you have it somewhere tonight id love to see :-)

  • A hauntingly beautiful song. Seger can really present the core of small town, blue collar life without burdening you down with specifics like Springsteen tended to do. I like Bruce, but Seger's got more easy-going and richer appeal to me.

  • Zucchero secondo me ha preso spunto e poi l'ha cambiata in meglio rendendola UNICA.... Questa è troppo ripetiviva e direi anche pallosa.. NULLA a che vedere con la bellissima Così Celeste..

  • So lovely, Blair...very special!!

  • I agree...and thank you. Oh, you mean the song!?! Ya, that too! ;-)

  • lol.....oh yes umm the song, yeah that too!!

    haha ;)

  • wow talk about selfcentered i <3 this song

  • e vabbè... lui copia tutto e riesce benissimo!!! la sua versione è più bella!!!

  • zucchero l'ha copiataaaaaaaa

  • Super !!! Bester Song aller Zeiten !!! Endlich auf youtube !!! Danke sagt 63mala !!!

  • Ich bin damit einverstanden! Einer meiner Favoriten, wie gut!
