Yes, I am going and attempting to make a music video of Rookies with the soundtrack as "Clones" by Ash. This song is played during the credits of Star Wars Republic Commando the game.
Also, for your music suggestion, stick with Immediate or venture for X-Ray Dog. These are both awesome new age orchestral groups with plenty of epicness to work with. All Hell Breaks Loose by Immediate would be a great choice for the either of the remaining two Ryloth vids.
Now on to the critique. Overall, the scenes that you used were pretty good. They covered the major plot points of the episode. The only thing is that for a song that is so intense, you let the scenes drag on a bit long. I know that these videos can be quite hard to make, and I'm a victim of dragging scenes as well. I'm making a Xiaolin Showdown video with the song "All Hell Breaks Loose".
It's surprising, but I'm struggling to find the right scenes for each part. The song is only about 1:07 long, but it's still a struggle. The point that I'm trying to make is to try and break the action in closer sync with the beat of the song, if-and-whenever possible.
Yea, I think your comment is totally valid & totally agree. I was like to myself, "should I post this up?" then I said I might as well because my fans needs something else xD haha.
I can understand that. I hadn't posted anything in the ways of an AMV in over a year, and the only thing making it to my channel during '08 were political videos (first year in politics. LOL)
I figured I'd freshen up and throw something together for my...fans(?), just to show I wasn't in AMV hibernation or something. It's good to whip something together as a base, but always dedicate time [when possible] to your vid to make sure it looks real good.
Something I try to do now is render a certain length of my video from time-to-time so I can look at it better (it always looks choppy in the midst of production).
During this, I ask myself: would I want to look at this right now as a regular youtuber? How can I improve this vid? What is missing, how am I doing with the beat, are my effects adequate*, etc...
*for the record, the effects bit only applies when I actually make usage of video effects, which is somewhat rare for me.
what is this song called?
