  • now that is talent! how wonderful to have such creatures living right along beside us. He sounds totally pleased with himself,

  • Beautiful creatures

  • You know, it's proven that a humpback's song changes and is influanced by other whales songs. They did a study in Australia, a whale changed its tune on the western coast, and as they listened to whalesaround Australia, they found that the tune change slowly spread across the north end of Australia, ending up on the eastern side...different whale pods, but they found the sound pleasing so they must have used it. Like fashion. hehe

  • yeah i read a book , it says they're just like us having different accents :) how sweet

  • awesome awstevenson! :))

  • the short sounds sound like a velociraptor from jurassic park! haha

  • indeed

  • Great video. *****

  • he is not moving because the water in certain depths is really good in carrying the soundwaves. he just stays in that certain layer because he knows for sure that this is the one carrying his songs out even further than other layers would do.

it has sth to do with the salinity and the temperature of the waterlayer.

  • the whale isnt even moving are you sure he is singing his self?? sound like somebody is making funny noise in to a can

  • I would be so freaking scared if I was under water by myself and heard that thing

  • me too....

  • reminds us that the sea is their world and once we enter their world, we go by their rules. respect the sea!

    love this video

  • songs of Humpback whales are amazing phenomenon. Check out the studies by Katherine Payne for those who are interested. She, along with other scientists, found that the humpback whales structure their song very much very we do - with phrasing, sequence and theme and variation.

  • I love this...like someoen said already, this is one of those things that reminds us how small we are.

  • I Love This!!!

Thank You so much for uploading it.\

    Beaustiful

  • Lovely!

I hope we never find out really why they sing or what it means! I love the things that remain a mystery. It reminds us of how small we are and how nature is amazing, unfathomable and so worthy of our respect and awe instead of our limited explanations and unlimited exploitations!
