  • @detlev07 I'm afraid the video is a few years old and I no longer have the software. I believe there are versions downloadable online now though.

  • @cpltony whats the software named?

  • you forgot the beep when you arm it

  • Want to see a real fully automated sentry with artificial intelligence and personality? Check my video response. or my profile. Be prepared to see something incredible.

  • hey can i plz have a copy because im makeing an avp fan bassed flim and i NEED this

  • @mistysvenger007

I'm afraid the video shown here was on a limited time frame and its now expired. You'll need to search for it, try the forums linked at the USCM Charter

  • Nice. That sceene on the movie was great. Pity I didnt see it on the cinema.

  • Not bad, the sentry gun scene is still one of the most intense parts in Aliens, however this has got to be hitting red on the dork gauge.

  • can you please tell me how to get this...... i need this for a video game

  • this is fucking awesome

  • Very nice.

  • pardon me...how did you acquire this program>?

  • and how is it for the quality? the length of the video does nothing for video quality, the resolution you RENDER the video determines the quality. which is under 800X600 since it does not even qualify for the HQ button. i do alot of recreational and professional videos, so i know how they work and how they are rendered. length has nothing to do with it.

  • Video is half black because youtube took the video, made it twice as long when it shouldn't be.

Lawsuit is making its way through the courts as we speak!!!

  • My sincere apologies!! It won't happen again!

  • Damn thats pretty sweet, do you know what language/program it was made in? PM if you know, I am extremely interested.

  • It was done in Flash

  • That's pretty cool!

  • yea i agree the whole extra scene with the marines watching the screens with the sentry gun ammo going low and ending in like 1 bullet or so is just awesome

  • directors cut I think that is. theres other extra stuff like you see newts family get F-ed up and some colonists alive and well doing their shit in the control room on LV426

  • That is very cool !! How can I get a copy ? Cheers.

  • Sorry, I cannot distribute.

  • Why not? ¬¬

  • Plenty of other people have asked, check the answers I gave them!!!

  • ALIENS came out in 1986 i think. Since then rumos have circulated there was a director's cut. I didn't get to see it til the 90's and when i finally did,i saw the remote sentry gun footage and thought it was the coolest thing ever. It still makes me wonder til now how stupid the editors were to cut certain portions of the scene which were really good just because they were too long.

  • This was made by a friend and fellow USCM enthusiast. I use it on my old brick style laptop at conventions etc.

  • what are we looking at exactly?

  • ...see video title ;)

  • i did dude, lol! i still understand whats going on here!

  • Have you seen 'Aliens' the 'Directors Cut'??

It contains a new weapon called the 'Sentry Gun' which the marines set up to guard the perimeter of 'operations'. What this video shows is the setup screen for these weapons which is not in the regular 'theatrical' version.

  • oh right! i c i c! thats pretty sweet dude! thanks for taking your time to explain what that is mate!

    thats kool!

  • oh shit beat me to it :(, mine was a lot gayer than this, kudos M8

  • nice bit of work mate :)

  • Ha, thats class. Its identical to the movie

  • A minor point, but shouldn't the system automatically start with a temperature of zero, as it hasn't been fired yet?

  • I was messing around with it before I started filming. That could have been it.

  • It's not my software so I cannot offer it for download I'm afraid. Sorry.

  • can i download this somewhere?

  • I'm afraid not.

  • what a shame. Never or just not at the moment?

  • Amazing scene and so intense and love the Centurion sentry guns!

Yeah, this is only avaiable on the directors cut.

  • Is the clip from the movie on YouTube??

  • Search 'Aliens Deleted Scenes' and I'm sure you'll find it.

  • OK thanks

  • This looks like it got some Hollywood funding from Allien 2.

My sentrys look like 5 gallon cans that would half to shoot the shooter before some one use them as a practice target

  • Cool Gadget! :)

    *Thumbs up*

  • Hey any you guys know where I can find some sensors target recognition and target acquistion parts?

    Send me a PM

  • I have never heard the reason why the sentry gun scenes were cut out of the home video version. Does anyone know whether it's back in the DVD? It was my favourite part, watching those critters getting blowed away.

  • Directors cut has approx 17 minutes of footage back in, Sentries included.. They were cut due to time constraints as they weren't plot critical.

  • i dunno i think it was a good way of showing how many of the bastid things they were up against.

  • I got the Alien Quadrilogy box, and on the third disc you have both versions:

The special edition (with the sentry gun scene - I've just checked it) and the cinema version without it.

You've just to pick one of these two versions from the menu.

  • hey wat does the ninth disc do?

  • Spinal disc? CD Rom disc? Frisbee disc?

  • Oh and the select sound effect is also wrong.

  • I......I really have nothing to say to that.

    Uhh.....thanks?

  • Actually looking at this in detail there are a few things wrong. In the film there was never an 'overheat' warning, although I can see why you put it in - why have a temp gauge if it doesn't warn you of overheating. But I doubt it would be in the same place as the ammo critical warning, what happens if it's low on ammo and overheating?

Second, the critical warning flashing speed is much slower then in the film.

Apart from that, nice job though!

  • I started writing exactly that program way back in the Amiga days after seeing Aliens, never finished it though, wouldn't be hard to do, if I do I'll post it for all to download!

  • "a-firmative!" -MAVIII

  • So why won't you upload it for other people to use?

  • Because it is not mine to give away. A lot of work went into this by its creators and they do not desire it to be given out, sorry.

  • What's the sence of this programm if noone is allowed to use it???

Or if it is in use... for what?

Nice Programm anyway..... I would like to get it!

  • lol, nice, looks just like the movies' display.

  • It is a program I am running but it is not being given out or disbursed to anyone, sorry.

  • Is that a program you're running or what? Where can I find this?

  • look at those ammo counters go! :)
