According to sources this was illegal and he get a record fine. A news link led me to this clip. The news story smells pr trick to me. I fail to see how he can break a speed limit on a road that has been designated for him and him alone. IF he was instructed to stay under then he should be banned from driving forever as speed kills and everyone should stay under the speed limit at all times. (but my guess is that he was allowed to break it legally under these safe regulated conditions.)

the only "illegal" part was that he had a speed limit over the brigde in 65mph (100km/h).... but he drove in 155 MPH... (250km/h)
