@MidnightsSmile LOL I know right! I summarized the movie for a friend of mine once and with every sentence I got more and more disturbed, because I never actually saw past the songs as a little kid and thought about what was actually going on XD
@CrispyCC heh, thanks. I didn't mean to come off as a hater, I mean, the film is cute and all...but it's a show about a teenager targeted at like five-year-olds, which is a little warped given the content.
@scubascissors Of course, I mean I love Disney movies as much as the next person, but they often give children the kinds of messages you don't want to press on them at that age (e.g. change to be what others want you to be, etc.) Good description, it's definitely warped
You don't like the DISNEY version. In The Hans Christian Anderson version they don't get married. She dies. Kills herself so he can live. And he marries, not the sea witch, but a princess from another kingdom.
@thewestwriter yeah, this is very true. I mean, I like my Disney, but I vastly prefer the brothers Grimm fairy tales, even if they're kindof twisted sometimes. At least they're not heavily marketed towards small children, which I think is my primary concern with the Disney films.
@scubascissors agree with you all the way on The Little Mirmaid!

Hehe I love your rants. Good points, Disney propagates a lot of terrible morals and stereotypes
