Someone must have missed the story about the Titanic, when the captain said,"Not even God Himself can sink this ship". Well, when you use God's name in vain like it's no big deal, you're setting yourself up for failure...
Repent... respect God, or reap the consequences (Exodus20:7)...
Patti Smith did NOT write this song. Why would you call someone a 'fucking idiot' when you don't know yourself? It's from the movie "Privilege," which came out in 1967. Patti Smith was 21 at the time and didn't even release "Horses" until 8 years later. Look at the liner notes on the record, YOU fucking idiot.
too much is never enough steely... I post photos of my record collection mainly 45s on FB at RAY's Juke-box & look for the best video of each song represented (like this one) to post with it
Patti smith embodies all rock, true rock stands for, and even though a third of what is out nowadays is awful, as long as she rallies and belts out masterpieces such as this, I shall have everlasting hope.
no better song, none at all. I saw her in concert in the Village a few years back a few times in a row... I was soooo blessed! Not many people really know who she is. Which I think is because she doesn't care. She is the Queen of Punk, a gentle warrior of peace and F the crap of the world. She is an Artist who works her soul, without bowing to fear. That's the real deal, the real work! She's been the greatest inspiration to me, and to others lucky enough to know her music!
@steelyman08 well thanks for the connection to our king bowie.it was a rare unknown track from an oleskewl Ian Anderson vinal benefit.i am more nto 80's but some obscure oleskewl will sometime appeal to me.The track is called Nothing To Say.like bowie connection as well.thnks 4 noticing.R!
Just can't get more frank than Patti is in this song. Frankness, another quality, which is sorely lacking - if not, entirely absent - these days. Things might not always be "pretty" but, sometimes...all too often...that's just the way they are.
What a powerful song! Great job on the video. Never thought - or, even imagined - I'd find myself in such dire straits and desperate circumstances as those Patti is singing about; but, here I am. No "feel good" song's gonna help me now; just those born from the depths of despair. Still...it's reassuring to know others have been there...some have even survived to tell their tales.

The essence of Rock n Roll, the bridge between Bob Dylan and the punk generation. Understood now and by future generations as a work of art.

That's a bit harsh, no? I don't think the comment was worthy of such a merciless attack ~ just a mistake like we all make from time to time. Peace.

You're not wrong. The other poster is. Patti Smith did not write this song.
