Why are you using composite video cables with your HDTV? With that connection you are only getting 480i resolution. Connect an HDMI cable and then most of the shows will be in 720p high definition. If your set is a monitor without an HDMI you can get a DVI/HDMI adapter and then connect the audio separately.
What about local chan.? I'm new to this and wanted to replace my dish i've streamed the movies through my xbox but, this is way better for other tvs? Also anyone had multiple rooms with these does it make it slower?
@connect18101 Roku has SOME local channels for some areas, like Vegas. (There's another similar type box called Boxee that might have more what you're looking for as far as local channels, but I'm not 100% sure on that.) As for speed, we often have two computers and two Rokus working at once and I don't notice a thing. In fact, the only thing that affects speed is uploading youtube videos. LOL
@LKathyRunkle Yeah I'm a single mom and I pay like $60./PLUS for dish that 1.) I don't hardly ever get to enjoy because my 6yr. old LOVES cartoon network and usually where ever I am she is but, since it is just my child and I there would only be two tvs. on tops ever.
@LKathyRunkle I figured I would buy one and surprise her and get one for her room. She is a pro. with netflixs lol and loves music and so it just looks like a great buy and not to mention the extra money.. so basically have to buy and let it pay for it's self after THANKS!
@connect18101 My kids have no problem navigating those easy buttons on the remote. Even my 6-year-old can do it. It's a good gift for a kid... and money saving. :o)
you dont know how helpful this was i suggest you get an amazon affiliate account and get commission off of a few product links im on my way to the store to get one now
that is awesome. I'm getting it now. I'm almost a week in on my first roku and so far i'm loving it. (and the 90% severed cable cord. I still have locals.
@mrsethprice Yeah. I just found that out last night. However, after spending several HOURS of searching, I did find a way around this, though. Subscribe to the RateRix channel and you'll STILL be able to access youtube. Isn't that awesome? I was all kinds of excited to tell my friend (who just bought a Roku) that. :oD
THANK YOU! I've been wanting more info before I bought it. This was perfect. Larry and I sat and watched the whole thing. Loved it! Thanks. Oh, thanks for the FTFC promo over the Shaytards, lol. Love them too!
You avoid R movies?? The best movies are rated R. You must be religious. What a shame since you have such a hot sounding voice!

youtube no longer works unless you had it prior to this summer. Might wanna say that in a disclaimer or something.
