  • There are no words!

  • exquisite . . .

  • MARAVILLOSO!!!! MARAVILLOSO!!!

  • BRAVO !!! HERMOSO TIMBRE DE VOZ....ACARICIA MI OIDO....MARAVILLOSO !!!

  • Hello. I think that the original work was written for baryton. Anyway, this version is really amazing. Bach´s spirit remains always among us. Thank you, Bach, you´re the greatest and I always follow behind you.

  • This man's absolutely been blessed with a beautiful voice...no doubt!!

  • magnificent!

  • Such a beautiful emotional felt voice. My voice instructor Dr. Susan Roe is trying to get me to sing like this. So much beauty.

  • beautiful and full of expression

  • close your eyes and start dreaming ...

  • It is a given that Mr. Daniels is a great and gifted musical artist.

But, also one great looking guy to boot.

  • @mrmolinodelahoz I agree with you on all counts........

  • Delicious. Thank you.

  • Schlummert ein, ihr matten Augen,

    fallet sanft und selig zu!

Welt, ich bleibe nicht mehr hier,

hab ich doch kein Teil an dir,

    das der Seele könnte taugen.

Hier muss ich das Elend bauen,

aber dort, dort werd ich schauen

    süssen Friede, stille Ruh.

  • thomas quasthoff is also very good

  • Of cours Quasthoff is fantastic ! But what's the point in comparing them ???

  • @jbxd8 IT'S AS COMPARE THE WATER AND THE WINE!

  • Magical!

  • Good leading of voice based on good physical conditions, clever singing, emotional technology like in dramatic theater. May be "baroque specialists" don't like it? Do they really lived in baroque times?

  • Excellent expressions, warm voice....Can't ask for more

What is this aria a part of ?

  • forgot to say , perfect orchestra and conducting

  • can any body tell me this is from which cantata...?

  • Comment removed

  • second aria from cantata 82 ich habe gunge

  • Thanx

  • David Daniels is one good lookin¨hunk who also sings with an angel´s voice.

    What a dream???????????

  • many barock specialists and many "singers critisize him.. Fuck them all, i love this artist! Brilliant singing and music-making, thank you

  • Agreed! Mizz Daniels can sing her ass off; she's a fabulous coach as well!

  • What an amazing voice. Simply brilliant.

  • 3. Aria (Contralto)

  • I surely know what a counter tenor is ,my favorites

being Michael Chance & James Bowman.

I am sorry I did not know of his recital at the Met and

as usual in my own city.

The Met has used Microphones and reverb correction

    from the stage as well.

  • He is not using a digital mic. He is technically a counter-tenor.. otherwise called as a male soprano. It's quite a rare voice among guys.

  • прекрасно

  • david verzaubert mich stets aufs neue - bin ein großer fan von ihm.

  • Just my feeling this sound is doctored and yes

he is right in front of a digital mic.

However one must really hear a singer in person

to know what the voice is like.

  • I heard him sing this live at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London last October. I already had the CD so knew the piece and it was incredible he was even better live. I will be seeing him live again in September, can't wait ,he is sensational.

  • I heard him sing at the Metropolitan Opera here in NYC and yes his voice is like it is in this performance. No doctoring...he is a counter tenor...they have books that teach you how to sing in this manner, but a voice teacher is highly advisable ;)

  • ♪♪♪ ♫ ♫ Hermosoooooo, gracias M. por regarlame tan precioso video ♪♪♪ ♫ ♫

  • This man really moves me!!!!!

  • Bravo Daniels!

    Very beautiful voice... Congratulations!

    Best Hugs from Brazil

  • this man is struggling or either the recording is drifting, it has no spirit

  • Oh, wie fein und gefühlvoll!! - Wunderschön! -

Was Jaroussky für Frankreich ist, ist Daniels für Deutschland, insbesondere wegen der authentischen deutschen Aussprache! -

Weiter so! - Sie singen fantastisch, Herr Daniels! :-)

  • Very beautiful!

    chris

  • PERTECT!!

  • Profound and deep felt and not to fast. This is great singing I was moved from!

  • Sorry there is no 'digital mic' here, wich is nonsense; the guy just sings in tone..

  • beautiful, david. mahalo nui - (thank you so much)

  • Amazing.

Sometimes I can understand the reasons for the facination and hysteria caused by the castratos in the baroque aera.

  • David, tu voz e interpretación son fantásticas, así cantarán los ángeles...

  • Bravo!!David

  • Sehr gut! - David Daniels singt diese wunderbare Arie beeindruckend schön!

  • just too wonderful for words thank God the best yet....David.

  • BRAVO! I LOVE this!!! nothing else to say....

  • We all remain especting to listen to it and to die of beauty! And of love for this Divinity!

  • Although originally this cantata was scored for bass, it's very often interpreted by sopranos, mezzos or countertenors.

David Daniels is a great countertenor and he sings this beautifully.

  • Yes, the original cantata was for basso, but Bach himself arranged it also for soprano (so that his wife could sing it) in the Klavierbuchlein fur Anna Magdalena Bach. Personally, I think it is a bit slow and perhaps a soprano is better than a countertenor but it isn't bad.

  • As always, David´s performance is the best!!! I wish this Bach recording now!!!

  • IMPRESONANTE, David, you´re the best

  • Wow. Daniels' breath control and beauty of tone are astonishing. I can't wait to hear the rest of the new Bach disc.

  • Mein Gott im Himmel!
