(RQ) PLATINUM BLONDE HAIR: How I get my hair Platinum Blonde!!

Hi Cupcake.

If I follow your process to touch up my roots first, hoping that my hair too will become platinum, when do I put the mixture on the rest of my hair that is an yellow blonde from previous attempts with 30 vol peroxide, and how long do I leave it on for.

Help pls. I have to get my roots done this week & I'm going to Sally's to buy the products that you use.

@OMGaNEWBIE In this video my Mom was just touching up my roots. I've had this color for years so I only touch up my roots. To achieve this level of platinum we went through a process of bringing it up this light. I started with highlights slowly adding more and more and then we just kept getting it lighter and lighter and then began using a color to lighten it again to another level, then the bleach so it was a LONG process to bring it this light. It definitely wasn't in a one night. You have to

@OMGaNEWBIE Part 2: be careful with the process that's why I say to consult a professional or ask your local Sallys sales person to help you because they will see the condition your hair is in and the level you have now as well as your undertone and they should be able to advice you as to what way to go with your hair!! @minny830 You're so lucky you can use 20. I use to use 30 will Wella Wellite, but since they discontinued that I've had to use 40 w/ the ion I tried 30 with it and it didn't pull it up. My hair has done really well with it actually it's in great shape finally : )

you know, i think that i might start using a 40 developer on my roots as well. everytime i do them with 30, i leave it on for the maximum amount of time, & i am still left with orangey tones, it does not want to lift past that stage. i think i need 40 for 4 levels of lift, everyone says its "so bad " for your hair but if you use it properly you should be fine right?? you haven't noticed any breakage at the top of your head from using it , have you?? just wondering so i could go try it out :)

@ninaxoxo93 I haven't noticed any no thank goodness I had had some breakage from experimenting with different products, but since using ION its been fine. Plus, I don't use any flat irons on my hair or much heat at all. And I condition it reallllly well!! xoox

omg girl be careful! you dont want to get bleach / lightner on hair that has already been bleached or you are going to get serious breakage! i used to do it myself and because i couldnt see well to do my own hair i overlapped like is being done in this video and it destroyed my hair. best bet is get it done by a professional or by a school. a professional shouldnt overlap!

omg i love your hair i ve been platinum for years and i wanna grow my hair but i allways have split ends my hair dresser tried this product blondme very good product not too much hair damage but my head s skin is killing me almost melted :S like a joke :DD it still hurts been a week !!!! any special treatment u can suggest for split ends i tried almost everything :((

I don't think hair color makes you sexy, I think that all comes from the inside out. If someone isn't happy or confident no matter what hair color they have they still won't feel good about themselves : ) Believe me, I won't have this color forever it's wayyy too hard to keep up..hehe!!

I love your hair! it is gorgeous! Mine is also platinum :) I would recommend for users to use a 30vol for 20-30mins and use the igora iceflower or goldwell 10P toner. It goes like a platinum pearl colour.

Also recommend using protein & moisture products like redken extreme.

I'm also a natural strawberry blonde but as I've gotten older it's more just a blah reddish so I highlite with the platinum and it looks nice with the chunks of platinum. I'd like to try going platinum but am so afraid of damage as my hair is a little wavy and even after lowing straight I need to use a flat iron for that sleek look. I use Morrocan Oil faithfully and that helps. Something to think about, your hair is beautiful :)

It's kinda like once you go this light you can't switch back unless you plan on staying back because of the damage your hair can suffer. I have about the same natural hair color as you, and I go to a salon to get it platinum blonde, I really wanna start doing it at home so I dont have to spend so much, should I use a 40 volume too? I would definitely talk to a professional about it and tell them what you want and what look you would like to achieve also share your fears with them about. it..don't ever be afraid to ask questions!! If you're paying for their services you always want to make sure you're getting what you're paying for!! xo

Hi! I'm a platinum blonde and my mom does my hair too. I don't know if u wanna change your bleach and stuff but I use blue bleach. Blue bleach cancels out any yellow tones and brassyness. You also don't have to use a high percentage of the developer ( I use a 30% developer and I'm a dark blond/ light blown) when using blue bleach. Just wanted to let u know that :) xoxo

I've thought about getting them, but I've heard from so many friends that have platinum hair that it's ruined it, so I'm kinda scared : / I've never used a flat iron either. I steer clear of those.
