@bloodlett1 LOL! I'm getting some more comments like this lately. The focus is off, the camera moves too much. Seems the audience is getting rather picky of late. I'm just a simple guy with a forty-dollar camera. What you sees is what you gets.
@Gino8451 Thanks. I think I got that at Northern Tool and Equipment. I think they also might seel one at Tractor Supply. I think I paid about $65.00 for it. You might could go oline and get one even cheaper. Best of luck!
@Jaladorm2000 I can neither confirm nor deny this. I have no specific recollection of that at this time. YT and the license/copyright nazis are all upons.
Thanks for your post over at TotalDetailz a couple of hours ago I would have to say the same your bike looks the same "clean" thats a great thing. Hey who had a great bike there hope it can be fix after your accident and most of all that your going to be ok from it.
Wow... You would not believe how great it is to see your video on a cold wet November day here in UK, bike looks ace !
I agree on Chrome Cleaner, though crankcases etc on Brit Bikes I tend to use SolvolAutosol, though you have to be careful not to scratch surface's as you say.
It does help getting Blue out on exhausts, and getting depth back on aluminium.
@RC62 Thankin' ya! I'm feeling better and better every day! Yeah, sometimes I wish I had an old beater-bike I could ride on crappy days and not have to worry about cleaning.
beautiful. But, as a sport bike rider, wouldn't you rather have spent that beautiful fall day riding the bike instead of cleaning it inside your garage? I love the chrome look, but I know I'm both lazy, and more interested in riding than cleaning, so I go with a bike covered in lime green plastic fairing that hoses off in seconds instead. I admire your patience and attention to detail, but wouldn't you usually clean when raining outside and not on a day that nice?
@dadickin Ahhh, the magic of movie making!! The video, you might note, is edited, so it only SEEMS like I was cleaning the bike on a gorgeous day. Actually, I plan my cleanings for craptastic days, which the video was shot on. The gleaming walkaround was taken just prior to going out for a glorious ride! Thus, no riding time was wasted on cleaning! :-D
@cashstore1 It's a plastic gas tank, so the process is different from metal. I finished stripping the paint just now. I am having a process done to it, and I need to drop it off. I am going to do a video about. They probably will not have it ready before I go on Turkey day vacation. I will be out of town for a week this Monday.
So it will be an easy two weeks before I post things.
Your army of cleaning equipment rivals mine! But, of course, I need more stuff because I don't clean the Softail as often as I should. I usually require a good 4 hours to make mine look "showroom".
@L0udP1p35 Aw, shoot. I usually take a total of 6 hours, broken up over a couple of days. I get into every nook and cranny. But this only happens about twice a year. the rest of the time, I either just go around dirty or use the Ice stuff for quick cleanups.
See I'm parcially blind now and can't finish a post after viewing your polished chrome gleaming in the sun without the protection of sunglasses. I hope this iz tempor.....
Looks great, Mike! Like it's never been ridden. If I went to all that work, I'd probably never want to ride my bike again because I'm a lazy ass. But there is some bug and tar crap on the wheels that I need to address......
@maikeli7 With me, it's bugs. On my first ride last March, I saw a fly land on my bike during a stop. The other day, there was a box elder bug walking around inside my car.
@moose3971 I stay away from anything that could scratch anything. I use chamois or super-soft cloth to do everything. For the spokes, I use the chrome polish and rub it on with an old T-shirt. To take it off, I use one of those super soft cloths from H-D or auto-zone. To get into the nooks and crannies, I use a soft cloth wrapped around a narrow stick or coat-hanger.
She looks beautiful !!! Great tip about the front fork . I have the brushed metal and they're a bitch. Two tips for you. If you have abide shop by you , for the times you get boot melt try blu-job. It takes melt and bluing right off. And for your paint , pig snot. I used to use ice but it doesn't last. Pig snot is the best bike polish I've ever used and it will last. I even used it on my car ,still looks great. And no it's not a joke it really is called pig snot.
@bluegem6559 Yeah, I have it too. Hog snot or pig snot or something. I've never used it yet. Can't get past the name. Wimpy of me, huh? I will use it next time!
@Wilks89 Thanks, Wilks! How can I walk away from such a beautiful bike, such an incredible experience in riding, and such a wonderful camaraderie among my fellow motovloggers!!?
My Mother always told me to wear clean underwear in case I was in an accident...at least you know you had a beautifully clean bike for your accident....and hopefully clean underwear too ...lol.
@RedanWhiteRebel LOL! Reminds me of a Bill Cosby joke. After the accident, his mom asked the police: "But did he have on clean underwear? Police: "Yes, we found it in the glove compartment!"
sorry had to give a thumbs down the cam work was giving me a headache but what i did watch was very helpful try using a tri pod for your cam

Part of the fun of owning a bike is making it look nice. My Harley likes chrome too.
I use the same chrome cleaner, but will use other brands too.
