Well, if you read the Book of Mormon, the resurrected Savior says that He was to visit all the iles of the sea. Not only the Americas. Jude 1-4 was referring to Paul's time. The apostasy was occurring. So was Galatians. Gal. 1:11-12 clarifies that "another gospel" is one that teaches that revelation is not necessary. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not "another gospel". It is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

I am fully aware that Jesus is referred to as the "Rock". Captial R. However, you will know that Jesus also referred to Peter as a rock. Christ called him Cephas (John 1: 42, Luke 6:14), which in the Hebrew means rock or stone, and in the Greek the meaning of stone or rock is Petras, or Peter. Nevertheless, in this context, Christ is referring to revelation being the rock of the Church. Communication between God and His servants is vital for His Church to stand.
If you want to say the rock here is referring to Jesus that is fine. I agree. The gates of Hell will not prevail against Christ. The gates of Hell will not prevail against His Church either. That is referring to an eternal perspective. It was, however, taken from the earth for a period of time. Otherwise, you may believe that The Roman Catholic Church is the church that Christ organized through His apostles. I do not. Paul knew his time was coming and prophesied the apostasy Acts 20:29-31.
The Bible also tells us that before Christ returns, that there would be a restitution Acts 3:21. That happened through Joseph Smith. Anyhow, we could go back and forth all day. The bottom line is that none of this is something you will find out for certain just by reading alone. You cannot even know the Bible is true for certain just because it exists. The truthfulness of God's word is only revealed through the Holy Ghost. Read the Book of Mormon, then earnestly ask God if it is true.
Jesus told Peter in Matt 16:17 that He knew that He was the Son of God not because of man but because God had revealed it to him. It is upon that rock that Christ built His Church. It is upon that rock today that His Church goes forward. That is how people are converted. By God revealing to them that Jesus is Christ and that this is His gospel.

You have neglected the witness of Oliver Cowdery, David Whitmer, and Martin Harris who witnessed the plates presented by an angel of the Lord and Christian Whitmer, Jacob Whitmer, Peter Whitmer, Jun, John Whitmer, Hiram Page, Joseph Smith, Sen., Hyrum Smith, and Samuel H. Smith. All of whom saw and hefted the plates, and witnessed the engravings.

Actually it's not mayan either, it's babylonian. The tower of babel.."let us make a tower (pyramid type) lest we be scattered abroad the whole earth". So when they were scattered, they built pyramid type structures. There have been 169 different pyramids found in 68 different countries. They all descend from the tower of babel. that's why you hear scientists say they must descend from the same origin because they have similarities, like sun worship and ancient gods, human sacrifices...etc.

If Christ doesn't change how he has men do the work of sharing the gospel, i.e. prophets, apostles, missionaries etc., then where are the Christian prophets and apostles today? If there is no need for them, why?
Also, are you aware that Joseph Smith along with three other witnesses saw the plates and the angel Moroni. There were also an additional eight witnesses who saw the plates alone before they "disappeared"?

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches the same Gospel that Paul taught to the Galatians. The Church teaches: faith in Christ, repentance, baptism by immersion, the gift of the Holy Ghost by the latying on of hands. In addition, the Church teaches the purpose of life (where we came from, where we are going, and why we are here).

If the Book of Mormon is the word of God then Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God. If Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, then the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's true Church and its teaching and doctrines are true.
I have read the Book of Mormon and I know that it is the Word of God b/c it teaches all men to come unto Christ and do good.

Have you noticed that most of the Book of Mormon is an acoount of what isn't recorded in the Bible? Have you read the BOM, without being prejugdice? Do you know that God has a plan for all at a a certain time. God may have only wanted the Americas to have the Gospel then. Just as God instructed Paul to go to Rome at a designated time. I'm not a member, but the Prophet- seeker, teacher, and relayer of the gosel from God. We are all witnesses of God. Not just the Prophet, Bishop.

Well, if you read the Book of Mormon, the resurrected Savior says that He was to visit all the iles of the sea. Not only the Americas. Jude 1-4 was referring to Paul's time. The apostasy was occurring. So was Galatians. Gal. 1:11-12 clarifies that "another gospel" is one that teaches that revelation is not necessary. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is not "another gospel". It is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

Nevertheless, no error on my part. The Bible is not the complete word of God. History has proven that. In the restoration, there were more witnesses than Joseph Smith. Oliver Cowdery, Martin Harris, and David Whitmer are also witnesses. There are eight other witnesses as well who saw the gold plates. Their testimonies are included at the beginning of the Book of Mormon. It is the Word of God. I also pick up the Bible on a regular basis and believe in it as well. No life long LDS "training" I have been Christian all my life and am an LDS convert. This because of another witness (the Holy Ghost).

The apostles that were called by Christ, whether during his mortality or immortality, (you forgot Matthias) actually were all martyred by those opposing the gospel. So was anyone else who preached such as Stephen, Luke, Mark, John the Baptist, etc... The original Church of Jesus Christ no longer existed. The Romans and Jews wanted to obliterate the Church and they did so by attacking its foundation. Joseph Smith restored that Church by direction from God. Apostles are once again on the earth.

I am fully aware that Jesus is referred to as the "Rock". Captial R. However, you will know that Jesus also referred to Peter as a rock. Christ called him Cephas (John 1: 42, Luke 6:14), which in the Hebrew means rock or stone, and in the Greek the meaning of stone or rock is Petras, or Peter. Nevertheless, in this context, Christ is referring to revelation being the rock of the Church. Communication between God and His servants is vital for His Church to stand.

If you want to say the rock here is referring to Jesus that is fine. I agree. The gates of Hell will not prevail against Christ. The gates of Hell will not prevail against His Church either. That is referring to an eternal perspective. It was, however, taken from the earth for a period of time. Otherwise, you may believe that The Roman Catholic Church is the church that Christ organized through His apostles. I do not. Paul knew his time was coming and prophesied the apostasy Acts 20:29-31.

The Bible also tells us that before Christ returns, that there would be a restitution Acts 3:21. That happened through Joseph Smith. Anyhow, we could go back and forth all day. The bottom line is that none of this is something you will find out for certain just by reading alone. You cannot even know the Bible is true for certain just because it exists. The truthfulness of God's word is only revealed through the Holy Ghost. Read the Book of Mormon, then earnestly ask God if it is true.

He was an angel (created being) spoken forth as were the other angels
He was in charge of worship and desired to ascend above God to collect worship for himself

I guess if you believe in that 3 in 1 thing, I can see your point. But common sense and logic says that when a Father is talking about his Son he isn't talking about himself.
And when his Son says I go unto my father, he isn't talking about himself.
So God the Father, created all things as we know it. And by our choices, we become who we become. Christ by obedience became Christ and Lucifer by disobedience in the worst way become the Devil.

If you listen to the holy ghost, you'll know that God expects work. Paul is emphasizing grace and saying to be humble about works. As an analogy, I give credit to the wonder of an automobile for bringing me places despite that my pushing the pedal and turning the wheel is necessary.
