  • where is this place?!?

  • yourr point men suck

  • You're uniforms look to much like actual officer's uniforms !

  • so like is this like a boot camp or do you show up everyday or what because this looks like something i would like to do

plz get back at me when you have a chance :)

  • @Xxxfindingemo123xxX Different programs have different setups but for the most part post meet once a week or every other week for 2-4hrs plus additional events such as helping at parades or doing fundraising. There are some exploring academies and competitions that can last a week or two depending on area. If you are interested contact your local area police/sheriff department and inquire about explorers or cadet programs.

  • I was the president of our first local one thing that we did not inncorporate in our training that was truly missed buy all of us as we entered our LE carriers was our constituional training as well as local municipal ordinance. When I look back at our training video we all look like robots with no emotion we should have been reminded of our role. Now when I look at what we trained and the attitude of the officer that we produced our advisers now wish they had instilled that.

  • Do you have to pay for your own equipment?

  • @AlbinoGorrilaz No for the most part, at our post, equipment is provided to you while you are in the program. Some explorers do supplement the issued gear with their own, which is fine but does require advsor approval.

  • u guys are allowed to carry pepper spray...lucky we dont

  • @budda734 No Explorer is allowed to carry Pepper Spray/ Chemical Irritant or for that matter any weapons at our post. As part of our curriculum/training we teach use of force and application/use of common LE tools such as Chemical Irritant; A inert training spray is used for this part of the training.

  • Where is post 343 located?

  • @Gavintheoptisailor

    Adrian MI

We cover all of Lenawee County however

  • @ForPolice You are correct in that LFL can not force you to follow their rules however if you operate outside of their rules/guidelines you can be removed from LFL and additionally you are not covered by their liability insurance when operating outside of their rules/guidelines.

  • You guys better hope Learning for life doesn't see that video! The pepper spray is a big no no!

  • @bobthebuilder19831 The pepper spray is an inert training device, basically water with a minor scent agent added into it. All of our training is conducted within the scope of LFL. I appreciate your concern but rest assurred our post operates within all guidelines established by LFL.

  • Good Job

    REP: Post 29

  • I'm trying to join the post in ada county, ID. They're taking new recruits in June...I wonder if I'm going to be the only girl there? Are there any other girls on here or in your guys' groups? =)

  • @horseracer12

In our post there are currently 2 female explorers. The amount of females in a post varies but don't let anybody try to tell you its a guys club or that you can not do it. The Explorer program is all about equality and fairness. Best of luck.

  • @horseracer12 im from police explorer post 521 and we have a lot of females. currently, our highest ranks (captain and lieutenants) are all female. we have 2 female sergeants and quite a few female explorers!

  • @hyperstrype5 Oh good! That makes me feel so much better! Not that boys are bad haha I was just a little worried that the explorers were more of a boy than girl thing! =)

  • i am a reqruit for explorers in Iliinois. Is it only the older kids who are acctualy at the public events? or can the 14 year olds do that to? -thanks,

    naperville police explorer officer

  • @espnpacker96 All of our explorers can partcipate in events with a few restrictions (only 18+ allowed to do anything after midnight). The reason you see only "older" exporers in the video is that our post is mainly 16+ members. Who can do what events varies greatly post to post, check with your local police explorer post for info.

  • im still waiting to be old enough to do police explorers

im in ann arbor, MI so any advice or anything?

  • well what are they requirements for your post? at my post in Southaven, MS we have to be of age and good standing in the school and community. we also have a boot camp and competition we go to, so it helps to be in shape. idk but if your interested in the Explorers congrats, cause it's a great program and i'd recommend it any day so i'm glad your taking an interest

  • Do good in school, stay out of trouble, keep good company, and get or stay in shape.

  • @rainpaw4 this fall I doing mine in Madison heights glad to see somebody from Michigan doin it lol

  • it is a good video i am an explorer too, post 1906 i am the Lt over there not 2 say that you guys are bad but at 0:34 when doing a wall search pull him back with his hand still on the wall so he is off balance b/c if you don't he can push back and he can knock you over and have the advantage over you but if you guys do it different thats fine just thought i would through that out

  • Please keep in mind this is just a promotional video, not an actual training video. We appreciate your input though. Thank you for viewing our video.

  • very cool video im in expolorers currently your lucky you get uniforms that look like police, ours are to military looking

  • lol ours look like mall cops or rent-a-cops... lol

  • I used to be a police explorer it was fun the Dui Check points riding with a cop building searches and ect. I was the Captain of my explorers i had to move so i had to give it all up now im 21 and the real stuff is going to be going on soon

  • nice video keep up the good work. Is that old ambulence your own explorer vdeo or is that shared threw the police department.

    Post 300 Fox Lake IL

  • That vehicle (TC1) is shared between the explorers and the public safety training program the post is attached to.

  • Good job on the video. Looks like you have an ok team. Keep up the good work.

  • Are you allowed to be in two posts in your area?

  • do anybody here know anything about the police explorers post 142 from gardena, california i wanna join them in the summer but cant find any info(i.e. recruiting videos) about them

  • im going to be in post 951 starting this summer, do u no if all post give the opportunity to earn commendation bars?

  • Learning for Life, the national organization, has a commendation bar program but each post decides on their own how to handle those types of issues.

  • do u by any chance no if post 951 gives them out

  • Do you guys have vehicles dedicated to your explorer post? Man I hope Pinealls County does this, I'm planning to join them soon.

  • Yes, we are attached to a training division, so we have two vehicles for the program. Most post just use dept. vehicles as needed. Good luck with Pinealls County, make sure you pay attention, you might just learn something worth while.

  • Pinellas, FL?

I believe they do, they took a couple to state competition (I'm from Lee)

  • Does the Salt Lake area have a police explorer post?

  • PM Sent

  • Is there one in Ann Arbor, MI???????

i still have to wait 2 years

  • Last I knew Ann Arbor PD and the ATF still has an explorer post. If not Saline PD has one and is not too far away from AA.

  • Great job guys!!! We do things like this in Fox Lake, Illinos with their post. We also do tactical with the S.W.A.T. Team but it's all confidential so I can't tell you where that is.

  • It depends post to post. I will send you a link for the Fontana PD Explorer Program.

  • fire fighting baby =]

  • at 1:18 he was leaning against the car . bad example

  • We are aware that the stance of the explorer in the traffic stop scene does create an officer safety issue but please bare in mind that this is a video and some things had to be done for the benefit of filming. Such as leaning in quite a bit to be in the picture. Thank you for your comments and stay safe.

  • damm i wish we had that in my town

  • Cool, u guys actually get realistic guns. Im with post 627 (see video) and hen we do tactical stuff like that we either pretend to hold a weapon, or use sticks. Very nice.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm a member os the Sagianw Township police explorers post 2376. It's more laid back, but I wish we did that type of hands on training. That's pretty hardcore.

  • nice vid, im in Park Ridge Police Explorers Post 911. now we gotta be doin some of that stuff.

  • Just FYI, the music for this video had to be changed due to a "copyright infringement" on the previous version.

  • I'm in the Seattle Police Explorers. It's really awesome.

  • what city are you guys in?

  • Adrian MI

  • Awesome Video.. I was a police explorer, Post 120 Danvers MA. It lead me to become a cop, US Air Force, for 8 years. I seperated last yr as a SSgt. I atribute my work ethic and leadship skills to the police explorers. It helped me get where I am today. If anyone gives you a hard time about the program, igonre them. You are far better off then they will ever be.

  • ha cool, great mix of the explorers with linkin park which is one of my favorite bands. we just started our explorer program a couple months ago and now it's starting to take off, this is some good practices to do.

  • ver ycool vid. im with the st.louis county police explorers

  • very cool i am too, what precenct? i think stlcpd explorers needs to do a video.

  • that explorer had his face in that cars window? They must have known that guy...lol

  • We are aware that the stnace of the explorer in the traffic stop scene does create an officer safety issue but please bare in mind that this is a video and some things had to be done for the benifit of filming. Such as leaning in quite a bit to be in the picture. Thank you for your comments and stay safe.

  • That's Understandable.

  • I'm a police explorer too, I've always wanted to be a police officer, I'm hoping a motorcycle officer but I'll have to wait out 3 years on the force before I can do that.

  • its all about firefighting exploring yeahhhhhhhhhhh...does your advisor know you made this video....

  • Yes, of coarse or advisors knows we made this video and fully supports it and our efforts to promote our program.

  • just asking cuz down at the firestation some explorer made a video just like this about firefighters explorers and they almost got kicked out of the program

  • *shoves boot up ass then cuffs and drags away :D

  • Man police explorers is awesome. I hope the one in Maine will be similar. Ill be 17 years old next summer and this will help me a lot! Great video.

  • god you guys get to do better stuff then us, and you get better uniforms. nice video though, the tac op part gave me an idea for my post. anyone going to nationals this year?

    exp. lt. day

  • nice video.

    Explore Hajroja

    Florida

  • im not flaming but when you guys do traffic stops you lean way to far into the suspects window. they could easily attack you. and you walk in the sight of his side mirrors. just a little heads up, you guys would get marked down in conferences for officer safety.

  • Thanks for the comment. As to the officer safety issue, we had to do somethings for the benifit of filming, had he not leaned in we wouldn't have been able to get the entire scene in frame. I assure you that when truly practicing traffic stops our explorers never lean in that far and officer safety is one of the most stressed topics during any of our training functions.

  • Did your post got to Chandler this year??

  • No, we are so far away that it would cost too much for us to go... we would like to though.

  • deng yeah its pretty fun

  • like i said before awesome video!! but these days teens are doing a bunch of stuff, (drugs) and its very pressuring, they make you feel like you have to do them and get arrested and stuff like that to be "cool" but not me!!P.s i go next thursay... i got the days mixed up THANKS!!!!

  • Excellent Video. Yall, Look like a great post. We are currently working on a recruiting video too. Check us out and tell us what you think.

  • this video is awesome, i go in 3 days (thursday) for testing, so this helps alot, i cannot wait....keep em' comming..

  • Whats with all the door kicking in. Not needed.. Color guard looks good though. But video is better than most ive seen.

    Associate Advisor,Davis

    explorer post #66

  • Thanks, and trust me the door kicking is just for the video, recruiting purposes. The tactical training (Door Kicking "stuff") is a very small protion of what we do.

  • i have a question about the belt....when u pull something out of it wouldnt the belt be dragged up with it? or do u tighten it alot around ur waist?

  • No, you use belt keepers, they are basically little loops that go around your duty belt and your inner belt and lock it all together. Also for the most case the cases on the belt aren't that tight so the stuff comes out pretty easily.

  • Vary Nice guys keep up the good work

    captain, post 2111

    New York City Police Department

    111Pct

  • Good video, we do the same things except we don't have a swat team at our station and we don't have a color i want us to get one though.

    cadet, post 2222

  • Looks like we will have to make another video, showing proper tactical entries and such.....

  • cool video at 0:06 thats cool.

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!!!!!!!! I just joined Explorer Post 11 in Charleston, SC. The police explorers ROCK!!!!!

  • Nice video BUT I would have to say that the entry to the room in the intro was bad.Nobody checked the left side.2 went straight and 3rd one at the camera. Whos to say that no one is standing there waiting to fire at you all.And another thing was the tactical opt.Although you got one guy, the rest of your team is suppose to clear the room out. Instead I saw the rest of the guys standing in the door way which is not safe nor good because they get in the way in case team 2 needs to rush in.GJ btw

  • I understand your points but as you said it is just a video, we purposely did some things for the benefit of filming.

    Thanks for you input.

  • Badass. I love the music, it really adds to it.

  • You guys got yourselves a nice post. Great video

Im a sheriff Explorer in Florida.

  • which part of florida im a police explorer in key west

  • the hats are weird we have better ones

  • They aren't too bad, I would of prefered if we had gotten the thin brimmed ones instead of the thick brims, but one of our advisors ordered them over the summer without our knowledge or our input.

What style caps do you have?

  • Are the hats (:38) part of your regular uniform or were they only used for the video?

And I laughed at the "Moron Lane". Haha, its funny because its so true.

  • Yes the hats a regular part of the uniform, we do wear them for all public functions but not for all training functions.

Glad you like the Moron Lane thing, its the little things in life you got to sit back and enjoy. Ha Ha

  • yeh we dont have brimmed hats we have like basball caps ones for our post 516

  • The video is great, but during the ERT segment, the guy who enters the room incorrectly is a dork.

    Joking, "post color, post"

  • What do you guys get to carry when you guys go on ride alongs? We went throug a 3 month acc. but we havent been trained in hand cuffing or anything yet. all we can carry is our flashlights.

  • We allow a cuff case, some explorers who have been certified carry cuffs, we also allow gloves and a flashlight.

  • hey man, this is cool. i didnt know there was police explorers. i'm a fire explorer in Tn. i'll have to check tomorrow if we do police explorers. awesome video man. good music choice

  • Thanks, police explorers is run by the BSA Learning for Life also so they should be able to tell you all the posts in your area.

  • ok, thanks

  • what state is ur post fr?

  • Michigan, Lenawee County more precise.

  • U guys got a sweet video. I'm an explorer with Post 86 in Venice, Florida.

  • Thanks

  • I would love to join, but I had never heard of explores until last year and now I'm too old to join

  • well the u can join from 12-21

  • dude, u guys have some nice uniforms!

  • Thanks.

  • What do you get for equipment?

  • what's on your duty belt?
