it isn't a win7 serial, it's only a product ID meaning, exclusively for technical purposes..

In the english Rtm the icons are like in your version but in the german version the icons are so far apart... I just wonder about

u can use and 128 MB RAM but it will be too slow and isnt for daily use

256 MB is the minimum

and more RAM will be useful

if u have 32 bit OS 4 GB its the limit

but if u have 64 bit OS u can put even 12 or 16 GB RAM coz 64 bit OS suports even 16 TB RAM

I upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate RTM and I am happy. Crysis seems to be a bit faster and GTA4 loads up much, much faster than it did on Vista.

I feel stupid, I can't see the tags to organize my pictures, movies and music by things like size, dimensions, date modified, etc.

If you upgrade (were you keep all your programs, music exc) then it usually turns out being very slow...Or it did for me when I upgraded from XP home to vista basic =P

But my XP home was slow enough.

I did a direct upgrade and I have no performance issues so far because I wanted to keep all my files, it would be a huge pain to move everything back and reinstall all my programs.

But maybe I will do a clean install with 64-bit Windows 7 as I have never tried 64 bit.

If you can run 64-bit, then 64-bit is WAY better than 32-bit. Faster, more stable exc.

Vista sucks. Thats why my old laptop was so slow. And that I dident know about Malwarebytes anti-malware, LOL.

Actually you have no clue what you are talking about. Sure, 64-bit is faster than 32-bit... in theory that is, but the reality is that most software will be running in 32-bit on Vista 64 and that does affect performance, not by much, but it certainly doesn't make software faster as you so foolishly claim...sigh

I upgraded straight from Vista Ultimate 32 bit to Windows 7 Ultimate RTM 32 bit with no performance loss, its actually a bit better in Crysis and GTA4.

I do miss some features though like Windows Movie Maker 6.0 which you can't get separate.

Upgrade doesn't make the computer slower. If your computer ran XP slowly, there's no doubt that Vista will make it slower (due to the requirements change). Because he's updating from Vista to 7, there shouldn't be any negative performance change.

i first upgraded from vista home premium to the Windows 7 RC. no performance loss. then i upgraded from the RC to the RTM. STILL no performance loss. =)

Yea, next time do a clean install. RTM is WAY faster. Your missing out if you still on RC. I think you got a FAKE version of RTM filled with trojans.

Dude, some RTM's were touched. They added trojans to:

1. steal your credit card, social security number, usernames+password exc.

2. Slow down your PC.

Where did you get your RTM at? The RTM is definitely faster than RC. Period.

I downloaded it from bittorrent.Only to test it because i want to buy windows 7 and i wanted to know how the rtm is.but the rtm was very slow so i installed the rc again.on bittorrent they said this version would be virus free O.o
