@The2000m You need to subscribe to a data plan with your network provider first. Not sure if you can get it on Pay as you go. Some network providers give the service on Pay as you go and some dont, so check with your provider.

@hockeyNmusic16 nope! bbm is its own thing, like i have the social plan and 100mb of data. so i can use facebook, twitter, msn social messangers, and bbm all i want and the 100mb of data will not be effected in any way ... thats only for web browsing

@RDMlSHYl Yes u can. Go to Profiles, the icon that looks like the loudspeaker on the Home screen. Select it and then scroll to Advanced/Edit profile...then select Normal and in there u will see a host of options to set tones for including Messenger. Let me know how it goes. Thanks.

i just got the blackberry curve8520 and i dont have bbm on my home page or menu but i when i got into applications i get BlackBerry Pin and it takes me to BBM but when my friend tried to add me on bbm nothing came up?

@lolmegunn Connect your BB to desktop manager and update or you can download it from Appworld. Have you looked in the instant messenger icon on your phone. If all of that dont help then wipe handheld and if that fails you have faulty handset. All this with the assumption that you have a BB data plan on your package and have activated it by setting up an email on the phone.

@mrmodernkillz Thats okay for it to be called BB Pin. If you are facing the problem as above that means there is a issue somewhere on the BB infrastructure. You must try and add someone else and then try this person with whom the problem happens. Also be sure to have a BB data service on your BB and so should this other person as well.

i bought a pay as you go blackberry 8520 two days ago, and i have a couple of problems with it..

1. BBM is not working everytime i try adding somebody or somebody tries to add me seemingly nothing comes up or works. I have been told about registering my pin or something about a data plan?? Can somebody tell me how to activate or use these?

2. My facebook app isnt working when i try to log in it just says error, everytime? can somebody tell me a solution?

@j2k794 You need to have a data plan with your BB. You probably might have it already but it may not be activated. The first thing to do is setup an email address on your BB. Once you do that and if it is successful everything will fall into place automatically.

@j2k794 To set up your email go to an icon called SETUP on your phone and you will find email setup in there. Follow the instructions from then on and you should be fine. If you are not confident about it then you can call us on 08000488737. There will be a one of charge of £8.99/ and we will do it for you-the whole shabang! hope that helps.

@iPringLexD Yes I know about this. It can be an issue at times. Firstly your friends should have the bb data service package on their bb. If thats ok then try these options..Add someone else before you add the problem Pin, ask your friend to add you instead, or try to add by using email address. It may sort the prob

@turbinatorify You cannot. If you stop using the bb it deactivates automatically. If you are enquiring about the bb service account, then you need to call your service provider and ask them to delete the account. Its them who can do it. Remember once they do that your bb will lose all the bbm/email/internet services. It will be then ready to be set up again incase you wish to give it off to someone else.
