correct me ok? to start a new edge you pull the edge into the stone grit,
to festoon or better sharpen the new edge, then you reverse direction and pull that edge away from the grit, same as when you polish. in this video he has both situtations in the same direction, into the grit
@beyondalohas After you pull the knife edge into the stone, you can polish and clean the shavings off the blade by reversing directions, but that's usually done on leather or some cloth, and not on stone. I would not recommend reversing direction on the stone, you need something softer or the striations will criss-cross and the knifes edge could be ruined, does that make sense? Best Regards, Caleb R.
yeah there is i mean you can rub a blade on any stone and sharpen it but if you want the most out of your blade follow this vid or learn from someone that has been sharpening knives for a long time
he does not know how to do this. dont screw up your blade
