  • Tinker, forgive me if you already mentioned this as i did not read all the posts, but have you gauged top speed with your setup in this plane yet?? Sooo Beautiful man nice flight and landing.

  • @arlo12345678910 Yes I have clocked her at 129 MPH.. I have the video look in my playlist under P-51 you can view it,, Have fun and enjoy..Tim

  • TinkerMan,

I finally got mine, but I used a dle 20, it was supposed to be less weight. I had my trainer fly her and he said, "Every time I try to do a loop, it snaps", he told me he has never flown a worse model. Tinker, does your snap when you try to loop? What total weight are you flying with?

    Thanks

    KS

  • @saldanaj Hi

John, It rolls great and loops great no bad flight characteristics. It weighs in at 12 ½ pounds.

  • @saldanajohn I'm guessing your running the CG per the manual,... Try checking the lateral ballance maybe you have a heavy wing. ~Pilot Bobby B.

  • @saldanajohn Hi KS

I hve not noticed any problems flying my P-51 Loops and rolls fantastic , not sure why yours would do that. Mine weights in at 12.6 pounds.. Good luck hope you get her dialed in. Tim ..AKA Tink.

  • hi is it true that you get 40 to 45 min. flying time out of the fg20 ? thanks

  • @ezalku Yes that is true with the 14 oz tank topped off.. Thanks for visiting and commenting..Tim

  • Nice flights!

  • @TobiRC Hi Thanks for the nice compliment.Tim

  • Thanks for the feedback Tim. So you followed the manual or did u deviate and break it in differently?

  • @Vectorp47 yes followed the manual did not deviate from it as far as steps go from what I can remember.. good luck and keep me posted on how it goes..Tim

  • It's making me postpone purchasing fg20. Any ideas? Thank you!

  • @Vectorp47 not really she is a great motor I really like them Good luck on your choices..Tim

  • Why r there so many neg comments on the fg 20 in forums?

  • I have this plane on order due any day. Agonising over the clean FG20 or the greasy FA100. I want the harley sound of the 4 stroke but i hate the cleaning up. Decisions decisions. The cheapy ASP sounds good but unsure of reliability, although i have an ASP 61 FS thats never deadsticked. Donno which to get. :-$

  • @maccanaut Great stuff Thanks for commenting and thats fantastic that you are getting the plane your going to Enjoy it...

  • @maccanaut Great Question

The FG 20 while you are correct does put a little oil on the fusalage it sure is worth it because of the sound, power, and yes the real mustangs got engine oil on them as well LOL check out my other FG video of her in the play list.. 129MPH great bird I would not change a thing..Good luck on your choices if it were me I know what I would do..Hope this helps..Tim

  • Quick question, i am considering getting this plane, but I want to use electric, would you go with the recommended 90 electric or would you use a 110?

Or should I just forget electric an go with the fs 20? Also, what size tank you have?

  • @saldanajohn All great questions

Both Electric Motors would be a great chice with great power, the FG 20 sounds fantastic. It up to you as to what you would like. I like the gas because its a warbird.. but in any case you could not go wrong with what ever you deside to do she is a great airplane good luck and keep me posted..Tim

  • @saldanajohnI'm just starting the build and using the 110, a 17x10 prop and 2 x 4 cell lipo's. I used the same set up my H9 spit and found it gave a pretty scale performance and very impressive loop heights.

  • @saldanajohn Try a 400kv motor, for example the Scorpion HK4035-400. You run it on a 6S lipo with a 15 or 16x10 prop, or go crazy on a 8S lipo(4S+4S in series) with a 14x10 prop.......I,m doing both :)

  • @marinjeam Thanks for Commenting..Tim

  • good landing man and nice airplane too

  • @sergiomarchena Hi Thanks for your comment Nice

  • Hey sounds great! What prop size and brand are you using??

  • @TemLaursen 15X8 Zoar thanks for commenting

  • @TinkerManRC 15x8 seems kind of small, I would have thought 16x10 or 17x8.

  • @mgrande11 Ye I would agree going by the manual.. But the good news is I changed the prop to a 16X8 Composite prop which I'm currently running...

  • That sounds great really nice plane looks good with the blue spinner in the air. Your take off was good too. Engines like these can give you a lot of side thrust if your not carefull with the throttle but you eased it on nice. well done hows the engine running now heard it stutter a little in the video or is it just rich like you said? How is the corsair coming on and what you going to use for power in it? I'm not an electric man all my electric plane are converted to nitro so hope you use nitro

  • @oakleymac1 Hi Oakleymac1

great questions so fare I have put 6 flights on her with out any problems with the motor so so for so good. thanks for the complements and support glad you liked it . The Corsair is on deck to be built next just finishing a piper PA-28. I'm planning on a 20-26 CC gas for the model. so will gwt her posted soon..Thanks Man

  • I just ordered up the equiv. walbro 456 in a Zama carb...30$ for 2-of them...

May try it on my OS 1.60 gemini twin 1st...

And then order up couple more carbs for the saito 1.25.

There is a gentleman that made a needle bearing setup for the saito 1.25 conrod may see if he can do the same for mine...

    cheers.

  • @kochj0713 Great info and thanks for sharing and commenting

  • @Iknowjackkennedy LOL LOL You are so Funny

  • Hey...

This looks like my TCRC flying site??

    How is the fg20 going?

Have a 1.25 and thinking about converting to gas, but Horrizon doesn't have any carbs for this one... Still back ordered..

    I am ordering a DLE20 today....

  • @kochj0713 LOL it is The Shes doing fine got about 5 flights on her just posting another vid today.. Awesome on your 1.25 Good luck with all those motors let me know how it goes..

  • beautiful plane

  • @amiraldz1970 Why thanks for the nice comment..Tim

  • Nice!

  • @Airplaneur Thanks very much.

  • Tinkerman - Did not have great flights with the RCGF 15. Just not enough power for the plane. Ended up dead-stick on approach and lost lift - flopped out of the sky. Wings are toast, engine compartment need some repair, but all other part OK. Sounds/looks like your FG-20 has much more thrust than the RCGF 15.

  • @johnnylynx01 Ahh man sorry to hear about your incident. of there is anything I can help with let me know. thanks for the kind words man..Tim

  • hey where did you finally wind up with your cg

  • @patrioticvet I split the numbers 117-127 about 122MM from Leading edge. with half tank fuel. Thanks for commenting.

  • thats awesome

  • @Jaryd107 Thanks for the kind words..

  • Two tumbs up man.. This is my october project but i will go for nitro four or two stroke not sure yet.. Love your videos man really

  • @ArcticRc Thanks for the cool comment and that sounds sweet good luck with your project.

  • @TinkerManRC I hope it turns out well. I allready have the P51 MK II pts from hangar 9 but bigger is better.. How is the retracts working? i heard they are one of the best on the marked

  • @ArcticRc As a matter of fact they work awesome man have not had any issues you going to really like them and the model..

  • @TinkerManRC That's great to hear man. Yeah i have a weak spot for Hangar 9 and the warbirds. But also the new BEAST that is an awsome airplane. But i guess the engine wil cost my shirt.. hehe

  • @ArcticRc Awesome have fun and thanks for sharing good luck with all your choices..

  • Looks great, sounds great and seems to fly great. Was it worth the wait? You don't have to answer that. I already know. Can't wait to see what she'll do. You have a real winner there!

  • welcome to the paying way too much for gas (nitro ) club LOL... nice plane... great flight

  • @hacker8675309

    Hi Brain

I know what you mean about nitro, it can cost a little LOL! But this bird is 100% Gasoline..Its a 4 Stroke gas engine like a car.. Thanks man for the cool comment and hope all is well.... TIm

  • @TinkerManRC awesome Gas is the way too go I have been looking at a few gas engines myself but they are kinda spendy.. my next full plane buy will be for a gas engine and a 3d plane to put it on or a warbird still have not made up my mind... I saw saitio and assumed nitro... LOL did you go to tri valley for there show on sep 11th I had to work so I missed it..???

  • @hacker8675309 Yes gas can be spendy. The Saito motors have two designations types FA and FG. If its FA its Glow if its FG its gas Just FYI Cool man good luck on your choices and thanks for commenting.. PS I did not as well make it to Tri-Vallys Fly in..

  • @TinkerManRC COOL I am still a novice in alot of ways I did not realize that they even made gas engines I will have to look into them... thanks alot have a good one

  • YES!!!!!!!!!!! Nice job Tim! Sounds Freakin Awesome! Your first Fuel Plane too! What a great choice! Do you like the way it flies better now versus when it was electric? Of Course you do! Congrats Man!

  • @RCRedBaron Hi Robert Yes I do like the way it flys 100 times better the the electric.. LOL ..LOL I do plane on lots more flights with her Thanks for the Sweeeeet comment.. Awesome Man
