  • Who the fuck was that singing neil diamond Jr.

  • @oldsmobiletw my mom had a 1986 cutlass cruiser loved it

i didnt like the basic gauge cluster

(needed temperature gauge, voltage, oil pressure, tach would be nice too)

    but loved every thing else!

  • OMG...what a POS

  • Bring Back Oldsmobile! (and also, bring back Plymouth, Austin, Morris and Riley, and get rid of Subaru, Hyundai and Smart!)

  • @MattTheSaiyan why subaru and hyundai?

  • @rickouel i have a diesel 83 ciera witch is my first car

  • I have one just like the one in the commercial only gray. Only 54,000 miles on it. Been in the garage forever. Wish i could get rid of it, so if anybody wants it for more than $5,000 please buy it.

  • @hemroidalrampage i had one and sold it for 500 bucks...your over priced buddy

  • @tednguyen You could part it out for more than $500. My highest offer was $2400, i guess it depends where your at.

  • @hemroidalrampage damn it...i screwed up...mine didnt run anymore..dead....

  • My parents bought a 1984 Cutlass Ciera when I was 10. It was a top-of-the-line model, I thought it was the coolest thing around! Had the opera lights on the side, digital instrument panel, auto/ trip calculator, velor seats and power everything. After they bought it, we went on a cross-country trip in it. WHAT MEMORIES! "There is a special feel in an Oldsmobile!... More than a luxury ride, it's a feeling of pride that you feel inside!!"

  • crack up every time I see this, it reminds me of trey parker singing team america. lol

  • They sold a ton of these cars.

  • I was about 8 yrs old when my parents bought our '85 Cutlass Ciera Brougham and I remember this commercial being on all over TV at the time. Our Ciera was white with a blue leather top and interior, alloy wheels and fully loaded which was cool. They traded it in with around 91K miles in 1990 not because anything was wrong but for something roomier because us kids were getting bigger, but my Mom still counts that Ciera up there as one of the favorite cars she's ever owned.

  • this body platform is still popular here in detroit....the celebrity and 6000 and rare tho compared to the cutlass an d century...most of them here are well over 200,xxx or are garge kept....

  • diesel? never heard of it in a Ciera, once '94 hit they had the 3.1 lire V6 and they were no good either

  • They were good cars back in the day except for the diesel and 2.5l four.

  • This commercial embodied what Olds was for most of its history; solidly Middle America. Sadly, the demise of Olds seems to also parallel the decline of those middle American values.

  • omg all of a sudden, these and its Buick century counterparts have shown up everywhere

  • Im still driving one with 210,000 miles and still running strong

  • are you gonna put a new engine in it

  • i Dont UnderStand The Reason people Are Dissing The Ciera...But The Ciera/6000ste/Century/Celebrity EuroSport/ Basically Paved The Way for The V6' General motor Cars...GM Makes Great Cars..I dont see how the ciera disrespected the fans...when it was one of the best damn cars gm made...espicially the international Trimline

  • @3800Z

yeah they were great cars better than the crap they make today !

grandpa had the celeberty sold it @ 213,000 MI

mi olds ciera bit it at 198,000 water pump went out on the 4 banger blew it up.

    good cheap cars

  • A special feel in an oldsmobile---hmmm sounds rather pervy. Who brought the lube? And steam hasn't been on the railways since the 1940's, yet in 1985 they have steam power next to the car--that's just weird.

  • sounds just like a south park commercial

  • Wow... I remember this commercial back in the 80s. I didn't remember the video, but I remembered that cheesy song.

My grandmother actually had a 1985 dark gray Cutlass Ciera Brougham that she bought new that year. It was a very nice car with a plush velour interior, was very comfortable and drove great.

The only thing that went bad was the O2 sensor and the paint on the roof. She sold it to a cousin in 1995. They're still driving it as of 2009 as a beater. Pretty dependable car.

  • Well, while I don't agree with the last part of your statement, the first two parts were pretty fucking hilarious, LMAO!

  • I'm an American and I want us to have a viable auto industry, but this type of shit makes me sick. I remember my mother's friend had a bronze 1986 Cutlass Ciera that at the time seemed pretty nice, but was in reality was indemic of GM's disrepespect for it's customers. My stepfather worked at the Tarrytown and the Buffalo plant and even he says the commercials represent a lack of respect for the customer. Wave the flag all you want, but this ain't my idea of the stars and stripes at all....

  • I'm an American too, and while I agree that this commercial is fucking horrible, it's not stupid stuff like this that failed these companies, it's the ineptitude of the retarded CEO's that did it.

  • I am with you on that one.... But I think they'll make it through this crisis....

  • what a cheezy song

  • They drive great and ride like dream boats ( my friend has one)but damn they ugly.

  • stupid car

  • I guess the big three had to rely on Amerigasm even back then to sell cars.

  • where did olds get the idea to take one name, cutlass, and make three different cars with it. calais, which was an old cadillac name, ciera (deliberate misspelling of sierra?), and supreme which sounds like a taco.

i do miss olds, they had some great stuff. and the age when cars were actually interesting.

  • hilarious.... hahaha... poor old car

  • *chuckle* Back in teh day. hahaha!!

  • Excellente video and song !! I'm french and I have a 90' Olds Cutlass Ciera SL Coupe 2DR !!!

  • cheesiest commercial ever...

  • haha my dad got me this car for xmas .)

    and...its a piece of shit

    it doesnt start anymore .(

but when it did it drove preety good .)

  • most of them are good cars, not hot rods, but good cars

  • There really is a special feel in an Oldsmobile!

  • yeah the feel of the slimy mold and mildew on the seats
