Lord of the Rings is my favorite trilogy of all times. I hope that Peter Jackson will make the same excellent job with The Hobbit as well. I heard from friends that the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit books are even better then the movies but i haven't found time to read them.

Also, and I know (at least I think) Hobbits (as portratyed by Jackson's LOTR films) aren't homosexual, but there just seems to be a lot of "sexual tension" and akward moments between the Hobbits in LOTR, especially between Sam and Froto. It's odd and somewhat uncomfortable at times.

I am just not interested in a two-part Hobbit adaptation. The LotR trilogy was great but the Hobbit just does not excite me. It might be good and will definitely make a ton of money, so I won't make any judgements. It's way too soon for that. 3d?! Jesus, 3d is just another fad and it's already worn out it's welcome. #d is just a dumbass marketing ploy. 3d doesn't make films better in the slightest.

Normally, I would agree with you. But this is Peter Jackson we're talking about. By filming the LoTR trilogy with a state-of-the-art digital camera, he helped pushed studios into the direction they are in today. Now, with the Hobbit, he's using the best 3d camera available; it won't be cheesy, lame, or otherwise boring 3d. It will be good, trust me.

OMFG. This is exciting. Im excited. The music at 10:13 and the little dialogue of Bilbo just made me all nostalgic about the trilogy all over again. No doubt, Peter Jackson will not cease to amaze us once again.
