Reagan also turned 700 billion in debt into 3 trillion with his tax cuts for the top and cold-war spending. Almost all our debt came from Republicans.

And there's one thing you have to remember about the debt Obama creates, he's down around 600 billion in tax revenue from this recession. He has to pay the country's bills on a lot less. And I'll defend the stimulus, because without it we would've been finished. The stability of this country means more that adding a little more debt. If our economy kept tanking we could've wound up like Greece. No economy, can't bay the bills. But there's a limit to stimulus. These trade laws need to be fixed. But the won't.

@DORSEY12100 If the markets see we're in trouble, they'll hit us just like Greece. Interest rates to refi our debt will go up and we'll never get out. Once the pain starts it's all down-hill from there. And I don't think there'll be anybody around to bail us out, like the EU. We're talking about the dollar as the worlds reserve currency being on the line. And there are a lot of countries that want to see it go. Because our strength will go with it. I'd say that stimulus was more than necessary.

He didn't think the downturn was going to be as bad as it turned out, so the unemployment rate was higher making it that much harder for the stimulus to produce the desired results. But he was just following his team of economists. Just like the Republicans would've done. It's not an exact science, they're estimates. I have no idea how you think the stimulus hurt the economy. Our economy outweighs the debt.
