  • Dis lady voice is sweet remind meh back in de days man i miss that i luv dis SONG i wish she was still alive!!!!!! to tell her that her voice is amazing

  • Kanchan was one of the best chutney singer although she was originally from India. But then again so were all of the people from he West Indies. this song along with benji darling, leggo me na raja, o maninga, dis time na lang time and countless others, were all songs from local Guyanese singers..... unknown old ladies singing in their bottom houses etc. Kanchan took those songs and made them famous.

  • @Radhica all the songs u named were she resing it was originally from a Guyanese singer: Nisha Benjamin

  • she is the best singer ever...this is the 1st time i ever heard her.....now i kno where tek he gyal come fan

  • I love this lady she sang very well

  • What Im trying to say is that I grew up singing local songs sung by Guyanese, who are forgotten today, this song is one of them. listen to the words, some of which are creolese (broken english)spoken by Guyanese. Kanchan was well loved for her music in Guyana and sang this song when she toured the country - I was present there.

  • This is another original from Guyana's soil. Sung by the same person who sang Leggo me nah Raja. Please ask your old aunt and uncles if they know her name. She was from East Coast Demerara or Berbice. If its not her then its Nesha Benjamin who sang Benji Darling but I am not so sure. Definitely a Guyanese song sang by Kanchan when she toured Guyana in the 80's.

  • i'm not sure what your trying to say but this is a video of kanchan who was from india.

  • Kanchan was so amazing, her songs were a a must at Guyanese parties back in the day and still are...she also sang some really famous songs for Indian movies too...."Laila O Laila" from Qurbani, "Kya Khoob Lagti Ho" from Dharmatma, and songs from the film Rafoo Chakkar.

    She will be missed.

  • love this song omg

  • you dick heads figithing on youtube listen to the chune n stfu ! gt trini same fucking thing !

  • no way =/ i mean culturally yeh but there is an everlasting war between trinis n Guyanese as to who is better, and who had all the good music and food =/

fine blame it on ignorance then =/

  • i love dis performance

  • ..see info from From Wikipedia: Babla & Kanchan were an Indian husband-wife musical group best known for work in the chutney music and Desi music genres. They performed together for forty years until Kanchan died in 2004.Babla also happens to be kalayanji - anandji famous music director younger brother.Originating from Mumbai, India, their music is well known through the world, especially in countries like Canada, United States, Trinidad, Guyana, Holland, Suriname and England.

  • no fight are they guyanese or trini becuz my dad and kanchan were old friends

  • they were originally from india,

and then moved over to the westindies later on...

  • It doesn't really matter...They're INDIAN. Guyanese and Trinidadians are INDIAN too. What's the big deal? Either way...Indians have so much talents....undoubtedly adding the Caribbeans beauty, spice and flavour gave the music so much more!

  • KEWL

  • Oh gosh!!! I love this song!!! I love the sound of Kanchan's voice!!! R.I.P.!!

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • Not only she was talented ..shes beautiful also.. :) rip.

  • crazy dat dis woman came from india , made a livin off da west indies lol, R.I.P.

  • Maybe she was a rejected singer in India.. whatever it was she made good music in the West Indies

  • She wasn't rejected; she was actually very well known and was doing well. She and Babla preferred to be on stage, performing (in front of a crowd) that's why they were so popular in the Caribbean. They chose venues outside of India to perform; places where Indian culture was prevalent, places like Guyana and Trinidad.

  • She wasn't rejected..... She was a playback singer for movies but they both preferred to be on stage in front of an audience; that's why they moved around the world to places with prevalent Indian culture like Guyana and Trinidad. Another reason for their move was because their new genre of music was gaining more (faster) recognition outside of India. Nevertheless...in the last part of your comment there's no argument: they made excellent music!

  • big up bullet kanchan in the house
