Why is it that when some pit-bull's acting crazy there's almost always a kid or two laughing somewhere in the background? My grand kids love my pit bulls and they're very, very safe when those pits are watching them. They protect my grand kids like they're their own puppies and they'll play till the last kids drops...lol

Both contribute. Breeds that were bred for protection/aggression are more likely to display those behaviors than those that were not. That's science. Good socialization and training can certainly reduce the risk of unwanted aggression, and a bad owner can cause a dog to be more likely to be aggressive. I understand the sentiment when pitbull lovers say that the breed doesn't matter, but it is a little silly. Genetics matter.

If you teach your dog to be aggressive they will be no matter what breed they are. Rottis and pits are strong willed dogs, but if handled correctly make GREAT family pets.

My friend had a Rott, one of the cutest, nicest dogs I have ever known. He was tied onto the porch one day and his neighbors (Scum) kid walked over and some how the dog bit him. The parents complained and had him put down. The month after that the neighbors had them kicked out of there house. Those are some of the most shit people I know. Even the kid which was only 8 at the time was a fucking ass. He would chase us and try to hit us with wood that had rusty nails in it.

i hate people who say pitbulls are bad because they are not. they just want to keep you safe whats da problem. rottweilers are worse than pitts and they arnt banned in most countrys. i know lots of people with pitts here in the u.k and we have to hide them because of stupid people who want to take their anger out on nice loving FAMILY PETS and turn them into machines.. pits are the best ; )

I had a rottie who has passed away and he would lick your face up in down not a mean bone in his body I took him to the fair, schools and to the hospitals to support the people and everyone loved him, I also have three pits and a greman shepard and have found that raising any dog the right way will make them the sweetest they can be.

@kpwright01 It's NEVER the dog, it's ALWAYS the owner. I have never met a mean rottweiler or pitbull, but I have met several rather nasty lab and golden retrievers. If you teach your dog to be aggressive they will be no matter what breed they are. Rottis and pits are strong willed dogs, but if handled correctly make GREAT family pets.

@kpwright01 I agree, but Rotties aren't 'worse'. They're an animal, and their behaviour is the responsibility of the owner and many other factors. Not just their breed.

@middy444 Ive been a dog groomer for way to many years and have met , dealt with many breeds. I agree with the owner is the problem but honestly I dont trust Rotty's. Have only met one decent one in the entire time. Whether its the breed or just the reaction the breed has on owners. Making them dicks or dicks get attracted to them. I am also not fan of shepards, Collies, Cockers, Poodles etc etc. 4 most satanic dogs ive met have been, cocker, chihuahua, rotty, lab. individual animals.

@smihy1 I can understand what you mean about Rotty's, yes idiots are attracted to them. The thing with Rottys is that they are aloof with strangers. I certainly would not trust one that didnt know me haha But again its how they are raised, if raised with other animals and dogs they are fine. Pits are fantastic when raised correctly in the right hands and socialised with other animals,dogs and people from an early age and does not have any bad experiences etc.

@MrNativeDancer I agree with you. I do think these types of dogs attract idiots to them. The type person that finds it funny to let there dog attack someone elses on the street. Been a few of those in past. I remember young couple walking two staffy's off the lead. Both were giggling when the dogs jumped in my yard and went off at my huskyx . But turned foul when and not so funny for them lol when mine got the better and got theres down. Education, socialising is the best thing

My friend had a Rott, one of the cutest, nicest dogs I have ever known. He was tied onto the porch one day and his neighbors (Scum) kid walked over and some how the dog bit him. The parents complained and had him put down. The month after that the neighbors had them kicked out of there house. Those are some of the most shit people I know. Even the kid which was only 8 at the time was a fucking ass. He would chase us and try to hit us with wood that had rusty nails in it.

@tjd1985 Unfortunately, after a long enough line of the meanest dogs being bred with the meanest dogs, a nasty disposition will eventually run in the blood of particular dogs, but this goes for any animal, really. It's a shame, really.

@tjd1985 This is only half true. Stupid people breed aggressive dogs and aggression is genetic. So you can't predict any BYB bred dog. You are right that breed doesn't matter because it's with any breed that is popular and bred by people who just want money.
