I'm glad that Clerc married a Deaf woman, but he was willing to risk his life to be part of Dr. Itard's experiment back at his school in Paris. Many or all of students were parts of that. He killed a few and pained many. His experiment was to try many different things to their ears hoping they'll become hearing like pour acid into their ears, etc. Why did he risk his life?

Thomas Gallaudet, Edward's Dad, originally advised Clerc not to marry a Deaf woman but thankfully Clerc ignored him and married Elizabeth Boardman his Deaf pupil and Thomas went on to marry his Deaf pupil Sophia Fowler.

He conducted a comprehensive study of Deaf to Deaf marriages and Deaf to Hearing and Deaf offsprings, contentment etc - he support Deaf to Deaf marriages

note: NAD passed a resolution discouraging Deaf to Deaf marriages in the 1920s i believe due to fear of Deaf offsprings and not wanting them to experience discrimination / oppression

I am not sure if you knew that Clerc married to one of deaf pupil in ASD. I am not sure what his views are on those issues mentioned in this vlog.
