its still operating but just as an educational tool, "cafe" a place to discuss & talk, meet people that feel & know the laws are a crime ! no selling of weed though, just yummy food ,coffee & cakes.

Nimbin is an awesome little town, and the h.e.m.p. Bar is simply like a dream. Traveled in oz back in '00-'01, and spent a few days in Nimbin. A magical place that utterly shpongled me!! HIGHly re(efer)commended

i was in nimbin last weekend whilst in lismore for work, 25 mins up the road leads to one of the coolest places ive ever seen. with in minutes of getting out of the car we were getting offers.

Hemp bar, Embassy and museum raided by NSW Police on 1st april 08. All have been closed down to prevent future trade of illegal drugs. I doubt very much if any will be open by mardi Grass!! This is not an April Fools Joke. Roadblocks into and out of town were still being conducted today!! Mardi Grass is gonna be very dry this year despite recent bumper crops by local growers. Peace!!

nimbin is great...besides all the smackies and speed users its a riot. I went to the mardigras last year in april, i have never seen so many cops in one place. Nimbin is a place to get weed if u have no other avenues. highly recomend it to any tourist, but for us aussies, its better to grow ur own eh

The cops are fine. If you leave them alone, they will leave you alone. Just don't make pot deals in front of them or anything stupid like that. If you wanted to spend a week though, go to Amsterdam, there would be more to do.
