  • Ten years and this video is still the best thing anyone has ever said about 9/11. Thanks for posting this, it's great to see it's still here.

  • September 11, the day who cahnged America.

  • I blame airplane companies. From the start they should've put metal cabins in the plane. They should've known it was important to keep the captain's safe.

  • Thanks for posting. Love the song choice as well. Sadly I have never been to New York but would love to get there one day. Because of this video I was given a small glimpse of what it was like to go up into the towers. Hard to believe that it has been ten years. In some ways it feels like yesterday and in other ways a life time ago. God bless all that were lost that day as well as their family and friends. God bless and thank you to all the first responders and all who helped the victims that d

  • R.I.P. all those souls. Charming City and its people 4th time of visiting but still want to see NYC again and again. Love you, NYC. God Bless NYC and protect Its people from any harm of that devil destruction. No more this kind of destruction in all around the world. Only sadness and nothing better; the world still the same. Only love can give the world not hatred.

  • All the political talk on this thread has really detracted from the point of this video. Thank you for posting, this was a beautiful tribute that literally put tears in my eyes. God bless.

  • i dont understand why people think that george bush had something to do with this, i know he is a complete idiot, but he wouldn't be that stupid

  • wow feels like yesterday... so sad.

  • no matter how they all died, conspiracy or otherwise, not one of those people were deserved of what happened too them. 10 years done and the heartache goes on !

  • R.I.P every one that died :( osama bin lina is rotting in hell where he should be...

  • It's so eerie looking out those window knowing there were people who jumped out from there.

  • as we approach the 10th anniversary of that horrible day, when gutless cowards attacked us, i wish that i could be on the site, on the 10th anniversary

  • GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

    - ALL THOSE WHO DIED IN THE ACT OF TERRORISM ON 9-11 BY TERRORISTS including UNITED 93 AND ALL OTHER PEOPLE WHO WHERE KILLED AS A RESULT OF 9-11

  • so beautiful and so said

  • I miss the Twin Towers so much. I miss the outdoor observation deck on the South Tower and I miss the Windows On The World restaurant on the 106th and 107th floor of the North Tower. The new Freedom Tower will not include an outdoor observation deck or the famouse Windows On The World restaurant. Sadly these things will be missed by many New Yorkers.

  • what was opperation northwoods?

who was L.L. Lemnitzer and Robert NcNemera?

    where is our freedom now?

why am i scolded for asking questions?

when do i die and who decides?

what does this have to do with peace?

what doeas this have to do with the military-industrial complex?

constitution must remain true to what we have done to build this nation and this civilization.

  • A great song to hear at the bookend moment when Bin Laden dies. Way to go America. But we are just getting started.

  • @handino5000 Gloating over the death of a person , Yes, even one as fucked up as Bin Laden , is very unbecoming as a nation.

Remember, one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.

but that aside, be happy he died, but please dont gloat

  • juste fermer les yeux et écouter , après comment dire quon n'aime pas

  • people beleive everythin the meadia feeds them , its like a shark feeding frenzy , i hope and pray the blind folds are removed from u all . but you beleive everything ur telivisions tell you ,

  • @Dainelson1 I certainly believe we should all use spell checkers, grammar too...

  • Just I want to sey. I love it.

  • 3:03 - watching this part has made my fingers all sweaty and I can barely look. To think that these poor souls had to choose to leap from the building, knowing that they will never see their loved ones again is just too much. I hope there is a heaven and that these poor souls are safe there. May we never see such evil ever again. If Jesus is the messiah and he is to come again, I hope he comes soon so we will never have to see anything like this again. RIP all of you x

  • looking at the ground in the towers must have been so tramatizing that the ppl had to have gone into shock before jumping may god rest there souls

  • They were the symbol of New York City and it's just not the same now that they are no longer there.

  • that day the world stopted

  • Blijf kippevel krijgen van dit nummer.

  • Our freedom was not taken away, and we may not be the same, but we can be better. We can not allow those animals to take any more from us. We already lost almost 3000 souls because of them. It's our mission to save the rest.

  • Thanks for sharing, very touching.

Im from Northern Ireland and know only to well the result of terrorism. The IRA are no different from the deluded brainwashed thugs who attacked the twin towers. The way New Yorkers came togather after the attack showed that these lunatics will never win. No Surrender.

  • You know, it really is sad, because not only did the... creatures, that committed these horrific acts murder 2977 innocent people, they also robbed the world, of one of the greatest architectural achievements in history. The Twin Towers were breathtaking, and while I do like the new World Trade Center they're building, for me, there's absolutely no replacement for them, and it breaks my heart that the only remnants of them are memories and photos and videos like this. RIP to all 2977 victims!

  • @Toydude1984, those same animals also destroyed centuries of architecture, such as Buddha carved into stone in Afghanistan, and wherever they conquer. Until the WTC was destroyed, I think they were under-appreciated. Now my heart swells and fills with sorrow when I see movies with the Trade Center in them.

  • R.i.p to all who died but fuck america, is a company not a country.

  • @carsonlad187 go say that on an american-hater youtube video not an american remembrance video. Common sense dude!!

  • i swear everytime i see the world trade center its such an eerie feeling. i remember i went to nyc on JULY 11, 2001. and i could see the WTC right out my hotel window. its been embedded in my mind ever since exactly 2 months from that day in July

  • peace.

  • I still don't understand why those damn terrorist attacked the trade center, i mean There where also Moslims working in that Building & How can U Kill so many Innocent people ? God Bless America !! - From Italy

  • @TheItaliano83 we americans thank you very much

  • This video should ansolutely be a part of the 9/11 memorial museum.

  • I'll never forget. I felt a brotherhood with my fellow Americans... with my fellow Christians... I felt deep compassion. I'm not a religious person; but I was raised Catholic and this music best captures how I felt. How anyone could rejoice at the deaths of thousands of innocents whose children were hours away from discovering that both of their parents were gone forever, I will never understand. Don't you dare ask me to have tolerance for those who blame this mass murder on my country.

  • Lady Liberty still stands, just as we do.

  • o word trade center pode ter saido do mapa mais naun do meu coração eu queria ter visto ela em pé pelo menos!!! ;......(

  • JBL and JB have made this song their own.

Heartfelt sorrow and good hopes to all who suffer as a result of 911. Particularly the poor devils who are yet to suffer, but are still the victims of this ceaseless atrocity with more and worse still to come.

  • very touching

  • This song is iconic but Jeff Buckley was iconic too it is a fitting tribute to all those who lost something whether it was someone or something, I send my love to all those who sufered from 9/11 no matter what xxxx

  • Listen to the lyrics at the start. "a minor fall, then a major lift". Those towers gave the minor fall, but we haven't thanked the firefighters who provided the major lift.

  • cant

  • great footage and song

  • maybe when we lose all... love will conquor all fear.

  • bonita canción y vídeo conmovedor. Mis respetos a la gente que se quedó para siempre en nuestra retina el fatidico 9-11

  • beautiful video, and a great song. Thank you for this.

  • I am very thankful for you posting this video. Despite I am not an american, I feel very bad and sorry for all the lost lives and souls on September the 11th, 2001. You could imagine what would it be if one was at the rooftop and suddenly sees the planes hitting the towers and then realize that death is close. May god bless all of them.

  • Just the most beautifully filmed family video ...seen it several times and moves me to my core .every time because so perfectly teamed with that music

  • God Bless

  • very touching video with the moving Hallelujah thanks for sharing this

  • Beautiful memorial. Thank you.

  • i'll never forget where i was on 9/11.. the day the world changed is something no one will forget.. thank you for this vid.. it was very moving

  • tonight is the first time I have seen this hauntingingly beautiful video - beautiful in rhe sense that it truly touches my heart, and a reminder to never forget that tragic day. I hope God can forgive them because I cannot.

  • Rebuild the Towers!

  • Um. Are there any videos of the inside of the WTC before it blew up?

  • The twin towers have to be rebuilt!! =/

  • As everyone else has said allready. Thank you. I was, like many others, on top of the world seeing a view I will now never see again.

  • Jeff Buckley & the World Trade Center~may they,Both,rest in piece :(

  • @skylershelby LOL not piece, peace!

  • God, this is poignant! Beautifully done! Brings up so many emotions...Jeff Buckley's version of "Hallelujah" is, of course, perfect. The video is nicely done, and very very much appreciated. RIP Jeff.

  • i stood atop the world trade center many years ago.... i saw the whole of new york city at nite, the statue of liberty was glowing... it is one of the most beautiful sites i have ever seen, i jst wish everyone could have the chance 2 c it.... R.I.P x

  • this for kind 10 and 11year olid

  • Great video to go with this most beautiful of songs. Written by Leonard Cohen, made famous by Jeff Buckley...and even more famous by John Bon jovi. I love the original Cohen version, but you'd have to go a long way to beat Bon Jovi on this song. He just has the voice for it.

  • Bon Jovi sang this better than Jeff Buckley?

    Wow!

You may be the only person alive who feels that way. To each his own I guess.

  • Yeah, Bon Jovi had the best arrangement IMO.

It's hard to beat Leonard Cohen also. He wrote the song and has the deep voice to go with it. Buckley's voice is too high...although he plays the guitar beautifully. Go listen to Cohen sing "Suzanne". They're all good... but I simply like Bon Jovi's musical arrangement with the violin, etc. All in the ear of the beholder.

  • In 1989 I was in New York. In the morning I met a friend who showed me the building where he worked. We rode the elevator up to the look out platform on the top of this building. The rain the night before had washed the sky clear and we looked down on Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty welcoming the world to the shores of freedom, and even saw blimps blimps below floating around the building. It was a beautiful sight which I will never see again - because that building and its twin is gone.

  • @williamleegoff

    sad, a great view,

    too bad their gone.

  • In the end, no matter how painful it may be, love will conquor all fear.

  • @verbaud im sorry, fear is stronger than love. no mater how much you love someone when it comes to being feared, there is no greater power. and as history shows us, its worked so far.

  • beautiful!! awesome!! beautiful vid

  • a wonderful tribute. thank you for bringing back some happy memories of the towers and what they meant to people.

  • really makes u think wonderfull tribute to al those people and their familes

  • Beautiful

  • Thank you - This is beautiful !

  • so well done - thank you for this video and song

  • Thank you for posting this. I have a friend who is ill now from the Tragedy. He was a first responder. G-d Bless all of our Heroes who have passed on and all of the Innocents who perished on that day. G-d Bless all the Innocents all over the world who have died in needless acts of terror.

  • I wish i had seen those beautiful twin towers :( I wish that even one of them would still stand there. RIP all the 9/11 victims, and off course RIP Jeff Buckley

  • I grew up in brooklyn and was even filmed for a bike commercial as a kid out front of WTC. Im a big Buckley fan & rarely cry but i couldnt hold my emotions on this vid. Wow man

  • simply gorgeous

  • Simply beautiful!

  • what's the song of the minute 5:05?

    please

my english is bad but im spanish sorry xD

  • Aclárate, catalino perroflauta de pacotilla.

  • It's called Hallelujah, this version is performed by Jeff Buckley. Originally written by a fantastic songwriter named Leonard Cohen. Either way, this is the most emotionally charged and beautiful version of the song. But I'm a sucker for Jeff Buckley.

  • @catalansniper i think it is hallelujah by jeff buckley

  • poor Americans

    sad tragedy Moors bastards

    saludos de barcelona

  • R.I.P. Jeff Buckley ;(

  • You are right. I was working that day and we all huddled into a small office to watch on a tv there.

There was a lot of pressure because of changing computer systems and a lot of anger but at that hour, we all just wanted to stay together and forget the small stuff. So surreal.

  • was there in 1993 loved the place before new york the tallest buildings i had seen was windser house in belfast and divis tower but also loved sams point and the ice caves in catskill also west point where my aunt uncle and cousins lived was class

  • thankyou

  • Вас любит ваша страна как и нас, но до такой степени, мне жаль тех кто умер напрасно.

  • This was special. Thanks for uploading!!!I feel a real connection who lost loved ones in this disaster.

  • He sings this so well..as does Rufus Wainwright...

    and of course, Leonard

  • thank you

  • Incredible song and poignant video - R.I.P. all those who lost their lives as a result of the attacks of 9/11, and love and best wishes to those they left behind. None of you are forgotten in our thoughts and prayers.

  • R.I.P To all the people that died 9/11. I cry with your familys.

  • 9/11 never forgat :'-(

  • I only wish I saw the World Trade Center before it was attacked...

    R. I. P. to all those who died that day.

P.S.- To all who think 9/11 was an inside job, just leave America and go live with osama, since you hate the government so much.

  • That's the wonder of a free country, Eddie and Vicky, you can say what you want without the risk of a beheading. Of course if you don't like this country, you can always leave.

  • Poignant,extremely moving.Thank you X

  • i had no idea that antenna was so tall

  • P.S. GREAT job, Although 9-11 was such a horrible event, it was the only time in my history where everyone in the country was united, white, black, catholic, jew.

  • Great, great video. Amazing footage, sweet editing, set to a brilliant song. I think Jeff would have really liked it :)

  • The original isn't always the best, you know? I think this cover is better than Cohen's old croaky voice, wih all due respect to the writer!

  • best versions are the best ones just remember this version is possble because of Cohen and the song really is not about a traditional religion

  • God bless the world, God bless all the other people that have to die for the american way of life....

  • and its the so called American way of life thats destroying the world...

  • Great video, great song. Thanks for the video!

I had the opportunity to spend some days there in 1994.

  • this song gies me the best o times but this video just made them that little bit worse :(

its such a shame, all those lies lost for nothing but greed power and oil.

  • You have to hand it to the 19 lunatics who carried out the 9/11 attacks. They caused the worst peacetime loss of life our nation has ever seen. In the name of religion, they justified killing thousands of innocent people from every demographic of life. Women, children, the elderly, civilian, and military. They managed to kill every religion: Buddhist, Christian, Hindu Jewish, Muslim. Not just Americans, 80 other nations lost lives. They hurt the entire world. 19 Front row seats in Hell.

  • Thank you! I loved WTC towers so much and I miss them even I`ve never got the chance to visit them! Miss WTC forever. They were a beautiful symbol for America.

R I P to the wonderful people who lost their lives there!

  • they were a symbol of babylon. much respect to those who passed.

  • This video gives everyone a chance to see the WTC from the prospective of innocence. A nice family on vacation doing those touristy things. God bless them for shooting this footage and even more so for sharing it with the a fantastically appropriately song. I grew up in NJ and never went to the observation deck. Never take things for granted. One thing that should have been learned from 9/11/01 is that nothing lasts forever and life can end in an instant. Thank you!

  • @SIGNAL10132 I agree. Im from Jersey as well & my father has worked in Manhatten my entire life. Ive been to NYC hundreds of times yet the one place i never went to was the observation deck of the towers & I now regret it soo much. But at least we were able to see those beautiful towers, some ppl never got the chance2 do that. I still remember coming up the jersey turnpike & seein the towers in the distance. I still look for them when i go to NYC, its always a reminder of what i took for granted

  • Sweet video! Can't help but get a little pissed off though that the towers haven't been rebuilt after eight years. If it had been my decision, they would have been finished by the first anniversary and been 50 feet taller than the originals, just to shove it in the face of bin Laden.

  • I hope in the future we (our children) never have to face the fears we did that day. I do hope in the future no one forgets those who lost their lives that day, so many more have died since fighting for our freedom. I dont want to debate presidents just honor those we lost in 9/11 and the war to follow!!

  • THANK YOU for posting this video!!

FINALLY i can imagine how BIG they where....

    I could never really imagine.

  • m I wonder what it would of been like if I had the choice of burnign to death or jumping. I could not begin to imagien the fear of realizing that leaping to my death would have to be the way. Remember what it was liek to stare down at the ground?

  • R.I.P From Texas

  • I'm curious to the future, What will the world say in 3000? Jeez, the americans had a bad start in the last millenium. looking at the first 9 years: Bush, WTC, Iraq, Afghistan, Economical Cricis.

A little salvation for your wounds: Obama :)

    From the Netherlands:

A peacefull millenium may it be, a new shining bright skyline in 2014 i wish to see. Show there is a wealthy and healthy city, and to terrorist no rest of pitty.

America must be as strong as the 1990's again.

  • the 90's is what led to 9/11. america is,was, and always will be by far the most corrupt country, not that its a bad place, america is a beautiful country but government is a jolk.drug war has been around alot longer then the start of the 2nd millenium! obama mite not start anymore problems but i dont think he realy is gona change alot of the problems of the bush years

  • I disagree.. Have you ever done ANY research at all on any other country? No one will take you serious until you start spelling correctly.

  • yea my fair share of research,i didnt say bush made the economic problem did I? I was reffering to the extremely costly tax payer wars...... im not gona waiste my time getting youtubers to beleive what i say based on my grammer lol i know its bad. you havent seen THE LAST WHITE HOPE??based on america. maybe before you waiste your time talking to me you should watch it. calling out my spelling doesnt change the corrupt america banks, admit afghanistan is for heroin, and get on with it...

  • Can't really blame Bush for the Economical Crisis. And honestly Obama isn't really doing much at all except causing drama... I don't mean any offense but you aren't from USA so you wouldn't know.

  • Yes fetterman, maybe your right :). The only world I really know, is my own. In my village, with my friends, with my family, thousands of miles from you and the rest of the USA, or China.

  • r.i.p to all who have lost a friend relitive ect in the twin towers them basterds will never be brought to justice

    ireland

  • For me this particular video is a celebration of the beauty of ordinary humans pulling together in the aftermath of this disaster ...the broken Hallelujah seeking an ever-elusive peace & goodwill toward all mankind . I never tire of this film of a family vacation whenever I view it ....just simply produced by AN adept family photographer .I am glad I found it it here at .and will always regret not visiting WTC when in NYC in 1979 . I missed seeing an awesome American phenomenon

  • This is the number one video tribute at Youtube to the beauty of the WTC and NYC ...and to all those who lost their lives ...and those who loved them then and forever after ..

  • I'm just getting sick of films on 9/11 there a disgrace to the people who lose their lives on that day & people who lost love ones

I wish Hollywood would learn to respect the people who have died in WW1 & 2 and the WTC

    R.I.P.

to the people who lost their lives on that awful day 9/11/01

    from Scotland

  • and i do hope someday when hollywoood gets bored of feeding its big fat mouth with the fat from its ass theyll take adverts off videos like these. If people want to mourn or remember they dont need flashing adverts in the corner for what your latest afterbirth of a director has thought of making. shame.

  • awesome video and i can tell you now the spam adverts by ADVENTURELAND IN CINEMAS SEPT 11TH are unwelcom on this, seriously, hollywoood makes me sick. beautifull sombre poignant video and maybe the fatcats could take one important day off spamming you vid with their adverts, shame on them

  • wow 8 years, it doesnt feel that long, i remeber watching it n being in school and every1 being dismissed in groups, my teachers father was on 1 of the planes that hit the towers may he rest in peace and all the others that lost there lives that day.

  • shoulder to shoulder we stand

R I P TO ALL WHO LOST THERE LIFE 9/11/01

  • Today .. we remember all people, who died 8 years ago ....

    R.I.P. from Germany

  • Thank you for this artwork admits chaos these days. It's therapeutic to relive this pain in such a delicate way.

  • The views from the tower top are quite gut wrenching. It's so difficult to watch with dry eyes. I appreciate you keeping this lovely vid on YouTube for us to share and watch. It's an experience we will never forget and some of us still experience today as though it just happened yesterday. Sigh...

  • I came again to say thank you. I come every year to see what you so gracefully put together. It's still a beautiful vid and this rendition of hallelujia couldn't be more fitting. I will be posting it on my channel as I do every year. I hope you don't mind.

May those who lost their lives rest eternally in peace and may those of us who still suffer find comfort and hope.

    Bless!

  • god bless ,thinking of u all on this upseting horrible day xxx RIP

  • Comment removed

  • God Bless those who were killed that awful day. After 8 years we can´t forget you. Thank you ajtcoinc.

  • I too cannot believe this didn't happen just yesterday, for it feels like it did. What bothers me the most, however, is that, I just got back to the East Coast after living in CA for a while, and their memories of this event were superficial, as if it happened on another planet. I, however, can only remember trying to find out if loved ones made it out.

Anyone who has looked at the bejeweled skyline of NYC at night from the WTC towers, understands the tragic beauty of that place.

  • 8 years ago.........damn almost and I can't believe I am saying this now. But a decade. Still lives with me everyday like it was yesterday

  • great video and great song-rip j.buckley and all who died on 9/11

  • I saw the programme on channel 4 about people who had recorded the whole event.

It was unwatchable seeing all those people jump out of the windows of the WTC. But what really grasped me was the moment those towers collapsed. All those people. Killed by those evil terrorists. Even if the mastermind was found, it still feels as though Justice was not done. Nothing can justify this terrible event.

  • God bless those Firefighters, Police officers Ambulance workers and everyone else who help saved people....because without them, many more people would have lost their lives on that sad day.

  • god bless america

  • Guess not on that day he was on vacation an the evil red tail devil was there in newest of york an the crapagon, good song though.....

  • As someone who worked with colleagues at the World Trade Center daily, and visited them at least twice a month, I find this incredibly moving. It brought back memories of the stark, white lobby, the many elevators you had to take to get to various floors and the top, and the tremendous views that made me feel as though I were in heaven, and could see something like the view God had looking down on the world. They are powerful memories. God Bless America and the 9/11 victims.

  • What an amazing home video and so beautifully captured. How lucky you are to have seen the WTC from inside, and after watching that, its the first time i have ever seen from the other side also. As much as I loved watching this video, it also mad me sad, remembering all those who lost their lives that day. May they rest in peace...

  • it's 9-1-09 I've never seen footage from inside. It kind of makes me sad and think.. how many souls looked out those windows as it collapsed. And think about that day, how I woke up to the clock radio talking something about the Pentagon being hit. We will never forget.

  • :( god bless the people who died here and there families 911 makes me see we have to bless god for life truley god bless AMERICA

  • Just a beautifully filmed home video with this music. Have watched it several times over months .Just immensely moving every time with this particular song . I am a Canadian who was glued to my TV that fateful day . Glad you were able to make this as a tribute to those beautiful buildings ...your photography panning upwards on the external linear elements is really wonderful

  • Música linda, parabéns ao cantoe compositor!!!!! Bela homenagem!!!!!

  • very poignant. well made
