  • They've immortalised all of my childhood, it's no longer just the bits I have photophraphic evidence and very sketchy memories of.

  • The best band ever

  • Why is Pete standing alone you may ask?

    Because Pete is a dick.

  • @DOGOFWAR777 ...thus adding further supporting evidence for the argument that "comments: enabled" debases everything on the Internet

  • BoC, that is all.. :D

  • what great vid this is. respect 2 whome ever did it.

is it the offical BoC vid?

  • @coldwaryouth

AFAIK - BoC does not have any official music videos. however the fan made ones are just as good ! :D

  • @azntranc3951 The video for Dayvan Cowboy is official, isn't it?

  • @shaftahoy

hmmm I don't know but I'll look into it. thanks :)

  • Gr8 clip Mate

  • dubstep is nothing but an annoying trend. i listen to some artists that are being considered dubstep when they actually arent. anyone feel free to bitch at me i dont fucking care! lol

  • I like to think that the cat bites her the second the video ends.

  • hahahahaha........ dubstep.is a fucking annoying term these days. i don't understand why Zomby is considered dubstep. it isnt! dubstep is a fucking annoying pop trend that tons of untalented dipshits are trying to mimic. it doesnt even fucking sound good at all

  • @420dopethrone don't fucking diss dubstep. dubstep is amazing, but so is BoC, live with it

  • @Cashewiscool12 dubstep is a joke! but yes i do accept that tons of people have lame taste in music. i can live with that.. i guess

  • @420dopethrone Oh look, another retard that doesn't understand what the word 'subjective' means.

  • @MeltedGecko haha fuck off.. sorry, but there actually is such thing as good and bad music. i really don't give a fuck who listens to what, but it's disgusting that so many young people are being hypnotized by a stupid term, and then when they hear quality electronic music they can't tell the difference. jeeze my bad i have respect for real artists.

  • @420dopethrone I do loathe dubstep as much as you when it comes to mere high schoolers just sitting down at a Mac and smashing some keys on Garageband; you have to hand it to people who actually put time and effort and skill into making it, and don't just press some keys and actually play instruments.

And who doesn't hate the retards who go on anything that sounds even remotely electronic and go "HURF DURF DOBSTERP"

All I'm saying is, don't label whole genres because of that.

  • @MeltedGecko do you hate it because so many hipsters like it?

    you hipster.

  • @conzor9898 I'm the one defending dubstep here, bro. I actually like it.

  • @MeltedGecko ahh, my apologies! yea some dubstep is really good

  • who in there right mind would think this is dubstep LMAO!

  • @8019THEDUDE no shit. fuck dubstep

  • best horor DubStep song!! :D

  • @mafiapau This isn't dubstep, it's ambient/downtempo. This isn't even CLOSE to dubstep whatsoever. :V

  • @mafiapau youre clearly a fucking tool, go listen to more dubstep

  • @mafiapau the fuck you talking about

  • my personal fave, but with BOC their all faves :D. New album soon please! :D x

  • is the voice saying "batteries" or "boundaries" or something along those lines?

  • wow i fucking love this. yes.

  • hey, lets put clips of random crap together and be complicated for the sake of being complicated...

  • @Sleepwalking05 let's not...

  • im a Troll live like human

  • I wish I could live inside the world of the boards of canada videos, just walk around watching trippy shit with their music playing the whole time, would be a good life

  • @Stormcharger i know right lol

  • just great

  • At 1:45, that sound...damn!!

  • @meesterbones yo man, that sound makes the song in my opinion...thats what i look forward to hearing everytime i throw on this song...such a nice sound...

  • @EternalIntelligence Yep. It's clever. The first time I heard it, it scared me, but it's jenious. Like it speaks.

  • damn. <3

  • Do you think BOC ever mess wround with I-dosing in their music? I think they do and that's why we like it so much.

  • @mrsaganscosmos

I feel you man i feel you.

  • @ShiviM5 i got high for the 1st time in vancouver and heard this band for the 1st time. i cant put my experience into any words other than wow

  • Björk's song Earth Intruders has a similar distorted voice that comes every few beats that I think might have been inspired by the one here.

  • i heard this when it first came out. i love it. i take a train trip by the sea past a power station every time i go fishing and this music is always on my mp3. the mix of natural beauty and heavy industry is perfect

  • Like this song; find the hyperbole a little extreme.

  • Boards of Canada make my Day !

  • boards of canada videos are the only ones you find on youtube where no troll ever finds something to eat :)

  • @atztex

Trolls are overwhelmed by BoC and return to their caves to spend the next eternity trying to put what they just heard in to context.

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe how can trolls aford computers or ipods, and if they did how do they get service? since they liv in caves and all.

  • @beezonaswarm420

Caves being a metaphor for their domestic hell.

  • @beezonaswarm420

It was a good question though :L

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe hahah i was just messin, the thing a bout the trolls is pretty funny tho. hah

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe thats why i liked your comment (8

  • I just found BoC and I'll never regret it.

  • 2:20

    THIS

    SPARTA

  • nuclear bomb explosions are pretty crazy to watch with the song

  • fucking amazing

  • this video/song makes me think of an lsd trip

  • @AcidBugler

all of BoC's songs make me think of an lsd trip.

  • the beat pattern just sounds right, and boc's slow and stable theme elaboration makes this track no. 1 for me.

  • love this shit

  • 2:57 nice brids ;D

  • this video and music was probably created by some kind of extraterrestrial artificial intelligence.

  • I just about went to everyone of there vids and Thumbed up them all

  • im too high for this song

  • Sink into Boards of Canada, and let your mind take over.

  • @hier0phant all religion and all nations are a lie... i am sorry.

  • 5:03 Killing black babies?

  • Perfect images. x

  • Boards of Canada is the Picasso of electronic music.

  • @QuantumStates naw... I'd say like autechre is the Picasso of electronic music. This is very much impressionism.

  • BoC is Cezanne to Autechre's Picasso

  • Thank you universe for letting me live in the 21st century.

  • you people are weird...these aren't videos by the band. there is only one official video and that's the one for dayvan cowboy

  • @pghmtnbiker Still, some of the fanmade videos for BoC are on par with Dayvan Cowboys' video.

  • Comment removed

  • boarders of canada! amazing ! everyone of their videos are awesome!

  • they have only one video

  • ahh being drunk and listening to this is great, love this song

  • i love listening to these songs right after blazing they juss help me relax and make my trip sooo much more better

  • is that pete standing alone at 2:50???

  • thsi video is crazy good!

  • This is by far the best psychedellic trip by BOC.

  • lol dead can dance. fuck outta here with that shit

  • BOC is like a dead can dance but electronic ;>

  • I think Boards of Canada, are music magicians. But in my opinion the reason they play older videos is that one their trippier and second they show that happiness and joy as well as creativity that people don't have anymore.

  • I agree with the "joy and creativity" part. I believe that '60 &'70, when these vids were most likely made, people were less inhibited as they are today. The world recovered enough after WW2 and started to experiment humanity as it should have been. After that the century of capitalism came over, the one we are still living today. Consumerism took over the joy of people for the bank loans.

  • @endeavourthelimits there is still room for growth, and unlike the past centuries, the growth that we are experiencing and will continue to experience is one of the mind; of the conciousness. This is why, (like the golden days of orchestra music), music without lyrics is the catalyst for the 'shift'. We don't need any words, paradoxically, abstract is becoming the new language. :-)

  • @ovonijemojeime ... in all hopefulness.

  • @endeavourthelimits

You of course realize capitalisms been alive and well for the past two-hundred some odd years (thereby encompassing the 60s and 70s), right?

  • @LubricatedSquirm yes i agree but the point that i was trying to make was that mass consumption made us slaves to them..

  • @endeavourthelimits As a society concept capitalism appeared in the late 70's..

  • @endeavourthelimits

    >implying capitalism didn't exist before the 60's

    >implying the 60's 70's were the peak of western civilization

    >implying consumerism and loans are the only causes of unhappiness

i'm genuinely astonished that so many people hit the thumbs up on your comment

  • @CorvidTabard >implying your a genius because you go on 4chan. no green text. sorry

  • @CorvidTabard >implying implications

  • @CorvidTabard LOL @ trying to greentext outside of the chans.

  • @CorvidTabard It doesn't imply that capitalism didn't exist before the 60's; it implies that capitalism was seen with unprecedented prevalence. Such is a common sentiment for the Cold War area and still today. He also doesn't even mention anything to do with the peak of society and he didn't say that consumerism is the only cause of unhappiness. It seems there's a whole lot more words in people's YouTube comments for you than I can see.

  • @CorvidTabard this is so obviously faked its unbilevable, why r peopl so gullible??

    Your turn.

  • @SirCockzerTicks it could be derived if you're a stickler about it. stupid sticklers

  • @CorvidTabard They are the victoms of nostalgia. The past is always better than it actually was. 'Back in my day....' :P

  • @CorvidTabard There is so much of culture that people miss out on when they spend their time idly socializing about what's 'buzzing'. What do you think created the buzz? As an example, TV has become a veritable deity instead of what could be accomplished.

  • @endeavourthelimits lol how did that get any thumbs

  • @EnsoChinn Dude, I have no clue. I just wrote what it passed through my mind. But I must admit I still stay beside what I wrote then.

  • Watching the city of London wake at around 5am in the summertime with this music playing in the background...

  • ...nothing left to say, except: 5 stars from me!

  • freagin acid clip

  • if you like boc go to the twoism forums!

  • Waco Massacre

    people will not forget

  • love the beard @ 2:25

  • what are BoC trying to tell me? hmmm

  • Why people think that I'm crazy when I say that BOC can control our minds with their music?

  • Because they don't realize that BoC has been able to hack the syntax of musical grammar and also, that they put hidden messages in their tracks?

  • BoC claim to be able to control people with their music ... although perhaps glibly. Their "hidden messages", however, are nothing but audible speech played backwards. That's hardly sophisticated.

All music controls people to an extent, which is to say that all music has some kind of an emotional or intellectual impact.

I happen to like what BoC does for me most of the time ...

  • i fell that the only 2 albums that have a positive effect on me are campfire and twoism, music and geo depress me as fuck

  • Geo's a pretty dark album by design (except for Music is math ...) I don't find any of BoC depressing, but some of it is dark, sure.

  • love people talking about BoC!!

    Geo its claustrophobic

  • if you like boc go to the twoism forums!

  • Best song? Yeah.

  • Its a nice collection of footage, but why does BoC = Old 50's-70's stock footage.

I know it works well because lots of boards music provokes childhood memories.. dark and nostalgic.

Something new for a change would be nice.

  • i think it fits well...its stuff from a time we didnt live in and its just cool to look at plus the music is tight as fuck

  • I agree... the feeling is great. but we always feel that kind of "nostalgy" after we lived past times.. d y understand? And its a great expression of it? even if i was not born too!

  • this video should be broadcast in space in case intelligent life finds it. it's like a sum of a person's experience on earth

  • @killtheidealist IDK, if we did that, aliens would think only white people lived on Earth and they might be needing Mexican food or something and end up going elsewhere.

  • @killtheidealist yes, a person on drugs

  • @killtheidealist I imagine this being sent into space and heard by aliens long after we have become extinct and they instantly understand us and cry.

  • @levidapyro aliens arent pussies

  • @DharokDude no doubt. they prob be hood niggas

  • @killtheidealist you should write more on youtube links of Boards of Canada songs

  • @killtheidealist holy shit dude im totally sober right now but i dont think ive ever heard more true words ever. really blows my mind

  • who is making their clips does anybody know?they are all awesome very strange i love them...

  • They're from the Prelinger Archive. It is an ephemeral film archive.

  • Awsome

  • yeah... neat video!

  • Stellar track, killer video.

  • awesome

  • Simply love this track <3 <3 <3....best one beside "Telephasic Workshop" and "Kaini Industries" - check it out.

  • I expect clips from old films are more accessible. I think some of the newer clips are purposely washed out and pixelated. If I had to make an interpretation of the aesthetics of this method, I would suggest it is a rejection of timelessness of material, juxtaposed with a presentation of what is common and enduring, giving us a sense of the passage of time and historical development while humanity comes up again with the same passion.

  • o ok. still as wally animations said they are getting kind of worn out

coll..but at the same time yea

  • I agree, the music is a bit better (often darker) than the nerdy, unimagimnative treatment is gets. I do like the one with that road saftey ad with the kids with monkey masks though on YT.

  • its cool but its used on an assload of videos, still boards of canada fits into it better than all the others,

  • "everything you do is a balloon" =]

  • im pretty sure that these are fan made films man

    most of these are,

  • what's this thing of Board of Canada and retro commercials and movies and stuff..?

i found it fun at the beginning, original

but now they all look and feel alike, after seeing so many

but why this constant link between the two?

  • Been a BOC fan for some time now (since 2001) but I decided give their entire discography a shot this past week, been listening to BOC non-stop and something really strange is happening. I rarely dream, like never, and for 3 days straight I've been dreaming about my family, my mom, my bros, eating cereal, watching tv, a forest near my house haha! I even woke up at night and started crying = intense! Looks like the BOC subliminal messages are working! I ♥ YOU BOC!! Wish I was a kid again :(

  • Is this an official video or no? Either way, it's really good. 5 stars if I could rate it, ha.
