@cliffshanesbaby I know a girl i went to school with that did the same thing as you with her hair. It really sucks not being able to look anyone in the eyes not even my own family members, this one girl i was dateing would always look at it and jeez it was embaraseing, Its a let down to say the least, i don't know how my dad would take it but i am going to bring it up to him and see how things go. But other then that you are gorgeous of course.

Thank you so much for posting this!!! Only 20% of people have to take the surgery again, and unfortunately, I have to take it again. :/ I'm 17 years old and I had it done two years ago on June 5th. I'm so excited to take it again, even though I have to pay for it this time, which is going to kill me. But it's worth it! I was always picked on in school as a kid, and they would always call me names. It's still sad just thinking about it. I'm so happy I had it done. It changed my life, trememdously
@anberline94-- congrats!! and yes it is a big life changer im am soo glad i had it done!! i felt like i couldnt be happy with the lazy eye it was like it had complete control over me!! :) bt no im a million times happier! and good lck!! :)
I did the surgery this summer,it's a litle hard after it becouse first 2 days kinda hurts. But after all its ok still im not happy with the result becouse now my eye is directed toward the nose.
i am finally going to get this surgery i am soo happy and excited. My surgery is scheduled in a month so i want to know how bad the pain is after the surgery?
@hostelgway pain is not bad at all! i didnt even no i had it done!!ya have medicine in it when ya wake up! :) after ya get home...pain??nope! :)opening it doesnt hurt the only thing that hurt me was when i tried2move it 2the far left&right....&up and down!! but thats verry tolerable!!! you gett eye drops and cream for pain!! it want hurt near as bad as ya think it will!! its def worth it!! i would go through the whole surgery and everything over and over and over again if it ever went back!!
hey guys i changed my email on here if ya have any questions please email me at my new email! :) i will no longer be checking the other email address...my new email is cuddlebug_65@hotmail.com and if anyone knows how to change a username here on youtube please please please let me know!! :) thank ya guys!! :) and some comments on here may not have answers thats because i emailed them!! im still snswering every question emailed or commented on here!! :)
I am about to have this surgery. I am 26 and have a turned eye. I was wondering if they put you to sleep all the way or just where you wouldnt have any pain durring surgery and still sorta awake?
@MsKellyko I had it 3 weeks ago on monday. I had pain killers and was asleep for the whole first week afterwards. Pain killers have a strong affect on me. My eye is a little pink but its healing quickly. I do have some pain here and there but not much. Are you having to wear glasses too?
@pennylashay -dr. said if needed to wear them but if they bother me to take off the glasses. It happened after a car accident and my vision went from 20/60 to 20/40, and that was 2 days after the surgery. He said it looks good and will continue to get better. The white part of my eye is red but better and ilittle closed. :)
@MsKellyko - Same here. I had both of my eyes done on June 27th. No pain and no pain killers. I was really surprised, because my eyes are very sensitive.
If I have to have them tweaked at the end of six weeks, I'd RUN to the surgery center. And that's saying a lot, because I have a very low pain tolerance level.
@vShaede - i have a follow up the first week in Aug. , i think they are not straight but we'll see what the dr. says, I have no problem with doing it again, my vision is double but it was before too, it less anoying but i can deal with that to have straight eyes...:) my eye is slightly pink in the corner it looks less open than my other How is yours?
@MsKellyko - I still a couple red blotches and the stitches in my left eye (the left eye was a lot worse than my right. He had to do extensive work on it), but I'm doing fine. Went to my follow up appointment with my surgeon last week. He said my eyes are doing great, but it's too early to tell if I need any tweaking. The muscles have to heal first.
I had double vision for 5 - 7 days after my surgery. Wow, that was freaky. (lol) I'd never had D.V. before.... (Continue next msg)
I've seen a couple videos where people said they had some trouble opening the eye that was operated on. When I came out of the anesthesia, I didn't have any trouble opening my eyes or one eye seeming less open than the other.
I am so grateful to my surgeon, that I wish I could do something to show him my appreciation. I feel like he's given me a new life.
Maybe your eye looks less open because of slight swelling? How are you feeling otherwise?
@vShaede -- lol i hope thats it, as far as thhe swelling goes. My eyemjust dripped alittle blood th first 6hrs after. It hasn't bothered me in any way. I don't want to sound crazy but as long as it looks normal i can deal with the double vision. :) My Dr. had a plastic surgeon there just in case he needed him to pull upy lower eyelid but he didn't need him.
I'm very happy for you, people with squint are so fucking unattractive! Now you look a billion times better!
I think about doing the same surgery, I don't have squint usually, only for few moments when I'm tired, but the imbalance in my eye muscles that make me squint once in a while also make me have a massive headache almost everyday.
So what do you think? Do you know what's the percentage of the failing surgeries?
LOL I wish I was a girl with a long hair to hide my eye after the surgery :D
@brazilianbarbie26 ---> it took about 1month for all of mIne to go away! :) but if you wear makeup it will get red a lil not much though just until you take it off :)
@vinu100able I was told two months. I had the surgery three weeks ago and my eye is almost healed already. It will be healed all the way in like two more weeks.
i cried a little becuase i was so happy for you, so the redness cleared down and u was all better after a few months owh im so happpy for you, i have it in both eyes like but only one and a time like it can switch but did it hurt or anything, i have been waiting 7 years to try again, i was a little girl when i first went for it and ran away.
hey you guys i havent had any comments on my video and i thought you guys might think this is a video were you ask questions and they never get answered! well its not im still here for you guys!! and just wanted to let ya know! so if ya have any questions at all please feel free to ask!! :) bye!! :)
Thank you for creating this video! My 2 year old is having surgery on both eyes next week and I am so worried. This is comforting to see your success!
hi, i had my strabismus surgery when i was 14 but my eye is not perfectly straight.... when i was 23 i had my 2nd surgery right now it's perfectly cure.... my opthalmologist say's to me that it might be back to strabismus again after 10 years im 26 right now.... my question is do you have any exercise for the eye to prevent the strabismus coming back... btw nice result....
Great result, had mine done last year..eye drops hurt like hell for the first 3 days then it was easy after that.. all pain gone after a week but I don't want have to get it done again lol
A couple of days ago I had my strabismus surgery done a third time. First time I was 2, second time 15 and now I'm 23. It has been "overcorrected", which wasn't the case the first two times, so now it looks like I'm cross-eyed, whereas before, I had the exotropia kind. This should correct itself in about three months time and I was told it could only look better than before. Just hope it lasts now. :) Double vision should go away eventually and you don't always need to wear glasses (I don't).
I have had surgery twice and still have strabismus....once at age 5 (both eyes) and once at age 17. Sadly, over the years, the eyes have resorted to their old wild ways.
I'd do it again, but now have no insurance, and the anesthetic made me hugely sick!(Try vomiting after eye surgery...NOT fun.) Your results look fabulous, but just be aware that as years go by(I am 59) things may need 'tweaking'. All my best to you!
I know the feeling of confidence that comes almost immediately after this surgery. I had mine on December 16th. Just past 30 days, I often find myself looking in the mirror frequently to see if it is wandering again. Urghhhh. In any event, I am wondering if all of the redness goes away? I still have redness and a very small amount of swelling almost 30 days post op. What was your experience?
@Erick39Mia when i had mine back in December, my eyes were swollen for about a month. i just put a lot of ice on it. it numbed out the pain and reduced swelling. however, my eyes weren't swollen a month post-op. however, it maybe normal.... you should talk to your eye doctor about it. (:
@hostelgway hey no I didnt wear glasses mom couldn't keep them on me lol but the doc did say if I would have wore them it would have fixed my lazy eye :( lol
im so happy for you, i can just imagine how you must feel having corrected the problem. I have ben wanting to get this surgery since i was like 14, i am 20 yrs old right now and have been talking to different eye doctors for years but they all say the exact same thing, they don't recommend surgery for me because when i wear glasses the lazy eye isnt noticeable enough for surgery. did you wear glasses before surgery? and if so did they help correct the lazy eye? THANKS FOR ANY INFO I APPRECIATE
@hostelgway hey, i have this problem with my eye too and was just wondering cause i will refuse to wear glasses 24/7 if i have to, but if you still wanted to, could you pay for the surgery to be done or did the doctors say absolutely not no matter what? or did they just reccomend, that you wear glasses??
Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm gonna be responding to questions on here my comment page..sooo if ya don't care for me answering your question on my comment and video page then ask away:) but if you would like me to email you by your email address or a private message on here then please let me know that way it will make it a little easier on me cause i have alot of peple asking me stuff everyday and i just dont know where to respond to them at :) so just let me know please :)
@cliffshanesbaby Saw your video after I had my strabismus operation. Thank you so much for sharing. I apologize if you answered this question already but can you tell me how long you had the double vision for? I always had a lazy eye in the outside corner of my eye. I am legally blind in that eye but wanted to have the surgery for cosmetic reasons. I am at day 23 after surgery and eye is still somewhat red and crossing on me with some double vision. Let me know if you have time. Thanks so much!
@DanielJamesLewis hey tips umm....do not touch the eye(s)..do not tan, wear makeup, until docs says it's ok to...don't strain the eye(s)get plenty of rest so eyes can heal..use medicine as directed...do mot wear contacts until docs says it's ok and umm that's bout all I can think of that I done or had to do :)bit I'm sure your roc roll tell you more facts about it if ya ask him..if not then ask me cause I could forget something :)
@tyrasibion hey no I still have my double vision and it's been 10months dice the surgery but it don't even bother me at all!! :) I only notice it when I think of it so I don't know if that's the problem or not :) but doc says it very rare to get double vision and keep it:) but I would much rather see double only when I think about it than to have a lazy eye :) cause you gave no clue he much happier I am!!
had my surgery done today!! Whoo!! And I'm completely happy with the way it turned out. BUT I was wondering, how long does the red and poofiness last? i meant to ask my doctor after the surgery, but i was still a little gone from the pain meds they had given me. lol
@airsovereigns23 well i had mine done on the 22nd of December and my swelling is pretty much gone now. I used a cold rag for the first few days, however after that you have to let you eye adjust to it's new alignment. So it should go down within the first three or four days.
hey........I'm from indonesia and I also got an "lazy eye".it happen's to me since I'm about 5 till 7 years old.I was wondering,Does it hurt? What did they do to the eye?maybe you could help me reconsider getting a surery
I'm having surgery in January. My strabismus is not thqat noticeable, but it does get more noticeable if I'm tired and some friends have admitted they notice it when looking me straight on. I'm definitely going ahead with the surgery, but I'm interested to hear from anyone who has had it, how happy were you with the results and what was the recovery period? PM me please!
Good for you. You are lucky to get it fixed and results are amazing! I had similar problem along with ptosis (?). Doc messed up and cut my lid and now I have dry eye every morning I get up. Both of my eyes still can't see straight......life really sucks as child and teenager but now I dont give shit about what people say, but this thing has given my lots of problems and complex thoughout my life. I have no complaints (especially with GOD) but people could have left me on my own. Love!
i had my eyes surgery last week friday. my redness is still there and swollen. my question is that how long will the swollen goes down. i was giving Tobradex. Please advise
@yem8000 hey!congrats on the surgery!are ya happy?well should i say you will be much happier after the swelling goes down! :) my eye stayed swelled for about 4or5 days give it a week or so&if the swelling dont go down have another check up with your doc you could have an allergic reaction to the meds you are using! but i was put on tobradex eye drops and cream stuff you have to squirt like sav in your eye!! but then one kind they put me on kept my eye red and they had to switch it. :)
@jonathanrodriguez60 You can be any age....I have see 80 year people get this done. I just had it done and I am 39. Still in recovery with the red eyes and all. Yuck...but praying it will be straight once all is recovered.
@cliffshanesbaby ...hmm..seems to me that you;re really happy with your new eye huh ? (who wouldn't be, I mean isn't the eye the most important sence organ in our body?)hahaha thanks anyway
Hello, thanks for the video. I have a question for you. Do you have binocular vision now? Do you use both eyes when you look at stuff? I had 2 surgeries, one at 7 and one at 24 and though my eyes looked better after both surgeries I was never able to get binocular vision and eventually every time my eye started squinting again. It took 8-10 yrs for the eye to start moving back. I wish I could fix my binocular vision because it's the only way to keep the eyes straight forever after the surgery.
@ahunt1976 hey im not sure if i have binocular vision cause when i close one eye (left, one i had surgery on) you know i can tell cause the picture i see dont have as much in it as it did before i covered an eye and i dont know also because i never knew what it was like to see with both eyes! =)
hey guys if ya wrote me and asked to see the helpful do's and dont's and my whole story!! and i wrote back saying i couldnt find them all were i wrote them down at so i tried to remember them off top my head...well please message be by my hotmail cliff.shanes.baby@hotmail and tell me you would like to see them cause i just now found them all and i would be more than happy to fwd it to you!! and srry for all teh trouble of finding them lol =)
@Deemarbella hey the doc told me that my eye probally wouldnt be straight right after surgery that it would probally move around for about a month then it would go in the spot that its gonna stay in =) and some of it is probally due to swelling! lol and yea double vision is temporaly it should clear up in about amonth! =) and i never felt my stitches they never botherd me most people say they feel like a hair in the eye! lol but i hope you start feeling better!!
This is an amazing thing, you were looking quite bad and now you are beautifull,it was the best decission you have made, all the best.. greets from Poland..cheers
Hey, i just had my surgery done two days ago, my question is, was your eye too far outwards after th surgery? Or was it in the exact spot you wanted it to be?
@13smileymiley hey my eye was straight right after surgery i do beleive but the docs did say that your eye(s) could move around and not be in the spot there suspposed to be in but in a months time if there still not aligned perfectly then you may have to hve another surgery...but within a month they will drift...need to know anything else please feel free to ask!! =)
First of all, you are gorgeous, and your eyes are perfectly aligned now! I have a question for you, though. I got my eyes done 2 days ago, and I noticed that immediately after the surgery, the bad eye (my right one), was still pointing inwards a bit. Apparently, it should straighten out over time. But I'm skeptical about it. Was your eye perfectly straight immediately after surgery, or did it take a while? :)
@Tyrasibion hey no my eye wasnt perfectly straight after surgery! it took a couple days as the doc told me it would! :) but congrats on the surgery if ya need to know anything feel free to ask!! and try not to worry yourself over it im sure everything will be fine! =) and thanks for your comment!
@spirus1986 Wow really?? mine didnt hurt unless i moved it to the far right left up and down!! but dont worry the pain is tolerable and will soon go away!!=) congrats glad it all went well!! =) need to know anything please ask!! =)
How bad did your eyes hurt after you woke up from the sugrey .... I'm getin mines on Thursday and I'm really really really scared so can you plz tell me as much about the recovery as you can :) ( I'm also 13 that's why I'm so scared )
@jamilahrodgers2 hey you honestly have nothing to worry about i was the same way and it ended p being nothing like i htought it would be!! i would do it over in a heartbeat if i had to have it done again! i just wasted my time being soo nervous and scared about it! i actually felt like an idiot afterwords cause it was a piece of cake!!
@jamilahrodgers2 my eyes didnt hurt at all actually after surgery i dint even know i had it done! til i got home and started actually trying to use them then it hurt a little bit to move them to the far right bottom and top but other than thats then thats the only thing that hurt after surgery!! and surgery only lasts like 40 mins its nothing!! you will be soo much happier afterwords!! i promise!! need to knowanything else please dont heistate to ask!!
If you wrote me and didnt get a message back i am verry sorry ive been trying to respond by email and i guess i have to come here and do it lol so feel free to tell me if ya didnt get a message back and i will be verry happy to send you one on here!! :) and srry its took so long to respond to all your guys comments and messages :)
Thanks for the video. My surgery is on Oct. 8th and I am a bit nervous. Your video helped greatly with letting me know about the recovery time. I guess it only looks terrible for about one week or so. Do you have vision in that eye? Did the doctor tell you that the surgery is temporary?
@09cruzin yes the doc did tell me that it was temporary cause it can go back and then again it may never go back!but most people only need 2surgeries some may only need1but after the2ndits most likely2 never go back!the doc told me that mine is most likely to go back in 6 months and its been past 6 months and my eye is still straight so im hoping to not have to have another :) and yes i have vision in my eye! :):) need anything else please feel free to ask! and srry it takes so long to respond:)
hey yea my medical card covered the surgery!! and i was reserching about how much it would cost out of the pocket if you no longer had medical card sand it said about 2.000-4.000 for one eye butit idk may be different!! =) and i hope your guys surgery goes well!! if you didnt get a response from me its cause instead of goin to here i tried to send it from my hotmail so just write me and let me know somthing!! =)
Congrats. My surgery is October 7th, and I love this video. I cannot wait to be able to look at cameras for pics withouth hiding my left eye with my hair or tilting my head a certain way! Looks great girl!
I got this surgery about a week and a half ago, but the only problem is, my eye looks like if it's drifting upwards. Is this permanent or just a side effect?
good video and shows the healing time frame,, im due to get mine done at end of september,, mine turns all the way to the outside,, mine should of been fixed years ago to be honest but i wasnt aware that it could be corrected (lazy parents grrr),, thank you again for showing what i might expect
@mashiemalloyd Hey srry it took sooo long to reply...but yea you will be able to go back to work after a week my doc was gonna send me back to school in just 2 days after surgery lol and It took me 4 days to start holding it open as long as I wanted but I was able to open it a day after surgery :)and srry for rambling on if you need to know anything else please feel free to ask I will be more than happy to help you!!! Good luck with the surgery hope everything goes well !!!
If you dont really know much about the surgery if you have an email address I will send you my whole story I wrote it all down....how I felt after surgery, going into surgery what it was like after evrything, lots of helpful tips,do's and donts, or if your just curious and nervous about the whole thing :) :) :) I was going to post it on here but it limits you to how much you can type on here so yea lol. so here is my email if you would like to email me to let me know cliff.shanes.baby@hotmail.com
hello! glorchick! yes your under local anesthesia and you are asleep through the whole thing (40 minutes)!! :) when I had my surgery done the nerve medicine they gave me put me to sleep. I didnt even get to see out of my waiting room! then when I wake up im in the recovery room. I felt like I never had it done!! it was soo quick!! but you have anymore questions feel free to ask!! I would love to help you!!
Hello. My name is Yuri, I'm from Russia. I have a vertical strabismus and I'm planning to have a surgery soon. But I have a lack of information about it. So my question is: Is the surgery performed under a local anesthesia? You sleep during the surgery, right? Sorry for such a stupid question, I'm just trying to get more information about it :) Coz my parents are against the surgery, they think it's too dangerous and so on, but I want it.
yea you will have a strange feeling in your eye thats probally the disslolvable stitches in your eye :) and i ust to use the meds like that and somtimes i didnt get to use my eye much at all. but thats all normal!! doc told me to use it as much as i could as long as it didnt hurt and if it did just close it and give it a rest :) the 4th or 5th day will be much better :) and your welcome!!
@cliffshanesbaby i got mine a week ago and still no results this is my second strabismus surgery. i had one when i was a kid and one july 7th. how long did it take for you to get results?
@mackeyst3 also by the fourth day i could see perfectly and very little pain and little double vision..now there is no pain and the redness is 99 percent gone and no double vision...had my post op today as well
@mackeyst3 ( i replied to you and it showed up on here but when i refreshed it, it went away so i sent it again) well as soon as i could open my eye it was straight!! :) but my doc said that it would take a month for my brain to actually get ust to having my eye straight so during that month my eye could go any way...and after a month that is what my results would be. and thats great that your eye is almost healed!! and i hope you get the results you whish for!! :)
@cliffshanesbaby they almost didnt do the surgery because when they were about to start they notice that the muscle they were goin to work on was already done when i was a kid so he did the lower muscles at the last moment. he told me that if worse case there is no results that he still cant do more surgery cause of the risk..but i think they saw something and are not telling me..
@mackeyst3 he also told me before the surgery it may take up to 3 surgeries to straighten out the eyes (its both of them) which is why i cant figure out why he changed his mind.
@mackeyst3 hmmm i wonder why? &yea they told me that i had a 70% chance of it not going back but that was for people who had good vision.&i dont (in my bad eye i have 20/60 which is horrible!)&70% was really low in medical terms. he said if i wore glasses/contacts then it would be an 80% chance i want have to have it done again.&that most people do have to have 2 surgerys...within 6months the eyes start turning back if the surgery not goin2work :( and i hope your goes as planned :) good luck!!
well you will always have to continue using the meds for your eye every night (cause the meds make your vision blurry thats why you use it at night) until the doc says so....it took my eye 4 days before i could really start opening it as long as i wanted!! :) and your english is not bad!! :) feel free to ask anymore questions if i didnt help you!! i been through this and i want care to help you one bit!! :) good luck and hope you start feeling better!! :D
my surgery was free cause i have a medical card!i was reading somewhere that it said it usually cost 2,000-4,000 for just one eye! which is horrible! i couldnt beleive in just 40minutes i could ever be this happy&no it didnt hurt to much infact not even abit after surgery i didnt even think that i got it donebut when i got home it hurt to move it to the far left right up and down!!&thats the only part&the pain with that was only 4or5days!if i didnt help you feel free to ask lots more!!
hi! my name is socrates and I wanna ask you how much did you pay for the surgery,'cause I have a similar problem with my eye but instead of going in ,mine goes out ,what I'm trying to say is that my left eye does not stay straight it goes to the left when im seeing something ,you know how it feels when people make fun of you. and did it hurt too much ,how long did the pain last.
Have you ever had problems with double vision?? I had two strabismus surgeries and since my first one (when I was 9) I see two of everything! My next one is in a couple of month because my strabismus keeps coming back! (I'm 16 now) Fingers crossed that my eyes are going to stay straight! I really hope you're eyes stay like that because they look really good! ;))

I am about to have this surgery. I am 26 and have a turned eye. I was wondering if they put you to sleep all the way or just where you wouldnt have any pain durring surgery and still sorta awake?
pennylashay 9 months ago
@pennylashay - are you still waiting to have it? or all done? I had it 5days ago....its def getting better, no pain at all and no pain killers either
MsKellyko 8 months ago
@MsKellyko I had it 3 weeks ago on monday. I had pain killers and was asleep for the whole first week afterwards. Pain killers have a strong affect on me. My eye is a little pink but its healing quickly. I do have some pain here and there but not much. Are you having to wear glasses too?
pennylashay 8 months ago
@pennylashay -dr. said if needed to wear them but if they bother me to take off the glasses. It happened after a car accident and my vision went from 20/60 to 20/40, and that was 2 days after the surgery. He said it looks good and will continue to get better. The white part of my eye is red but better and ilittle closed. :)
MsKellyko 8 months ago
@MsKellyko - Same here. I had both of my eyes done on June 27th. No pain and no pain killers. I was really surprised, because my eyes are very sensitive.
If I have to have them tweaked at the end of six weeks, I'd RUN to the surgery center. And that's saying a lot, because I have a very low pain tolerance level.
Good luck pennylashay! =)
vShaede 8 months ago
@vShaede - i have a follow up the first week in Aug. , i think they are not straight but we'll see what the dr. says, I have no problem with doing it again, my vision is double but it was before too, it less anoying but i can deal with that to have straight eyes...:) my eye is slightly pink in the corner it looks less open than my other How is yours?
MsKellyko 8 months ago
@MsKellyko - I still a couple red blotches and the stitches in my left eye (the left eye was a lot worse than my right. He had to do extensive work on it), but I'm doing fine. Went to my follow up appointment with my surgeon last week. He said my eyes are doing great, but it's too early to tell if I need any tweaking. The muscles have to heal first.
I had double vision for 5 - 7 days after my surgery. Wow, that was freaky. (lol) I'd never had D.V. before.... (Continue next msg)
vShaede 8 months ago
@MsKellyko - Part 2
Denise
vShaede 8 months ago
@vShaede -- lol i hope thats it, as far as thhe swelling goes. My eyemjust dripped alittle blood th first 6hrs after. It hasn't bothered me in any way. I don't want to sound crazy but as long as it looks normal i can deal with the double vision. :) My Dr. had a plastic surgeon there just in case he needed him to pull upy lower eyelid but he didn't need him.

Hi
I'm very happy for you, people with squint are so fucking unattractive! Now you look a billion times better!
I think about doing the same surgery, I don't have squint usually, only for few moments when I'm tired, but the imbalance in my eye muscles that make me squint once in a while also make me have a massive headache almost everyday.
So what do you think? Do you know what's the percentage of the failing surgeries?
LOL I wish I was a girl with a long hair to hide my eye after the surgery :D

Great result, had mine done last year..eye drops hurt like hell for the first 3 days then it was easy after that.. all pain gone after a week but I don't want have to get it done again lol
sniperdudeuk 1 year ago
A couple of days ago I had my strabismus surgery done a third time. First time I was 2, second time 15 and now I'm 23. It has been "overcorrected", which wasn't the case the first two times, so now it looks like I'm cross-eyed, whereas before, I had the exotropia kind. This should correct itself in about three months time and I was told it could only look better than before. Just hope it lasts now. :) Double vision should go away eventually and you don't always need to wear glasses (I don't).
Evemoi87 1 year ago
I have had surgery twice and still have strabismus....once at age 5 (both eyes) and once at age 17. Sadly, over the years, the eyes have resorted to their old wild ways.
I'd do it again, but now have no insurance, and the anesthetic made me hugely sick!(Try vomiting after eye surgery...NOT fun.) Your results look fabulous, but just be aware that as years go by(I am 59) things may need 'tweaking'. All my best to you!
MissPickletoes 1 year ago
I know the feeling of confidence that comes almost immediately after this surgery. I had mine on December 16th. Just past 30 days, I often find myself looking in the mirror frequently to see if it is wandering again. Urghhhh. In any event, I am wondering if all of the redness goes away? I still have redness and a very small amount of swelling almost 30 days post op. What was your experience?
Erick39Mia 1 year ago
@Erick39Mia when i had mine back in December, my eyes were swollen for about a month. i just put a lot of ice on it. it numbed out the pain and reduced swelling. however, my eyes weren't swollen a month post-op. however, it maybe normal.... you should talk to your eye doctor about it. (:

@hostelgway hey no I didnt wear glasses mom couldn't keep them on me lol but the doc did say if I would have wore them it would have fixed my lazy eye :( lol
cliffshanesbaby 1 year ago
im so happy for you, i can just imagine how you must feel having corrected the problem. THANKS FOR ANY INFO I APPRECIATE
hostelgway 1 year ago
@hostelgway hey, i have this problem with my eye too and was just wondering cause i will refuse to wear glasses 24/7 if i have to, but if you still wanted to, could you pay for the surgery to be done or did the doctors say absolutely not no matter what? or did they just reccomend, that you wear glasses??

I apologize if you answered this question already but can you tell me how long you had the double vision for? I always had a lazy eye in the outside corner of my eye. airsovereigns23 1 year ago
@airsovereigns23 well i had mine done on the 22nd of December and my swelling is pretty much gone now. I used a cold rag for the first few days, however after that you have to let you eye adjust to it's new alignment. So it should go down within the first three or four days.

Anacchi 1 year ago
Good for you. You are lucky to get it fixed and results are amazing! I had similar problem along with ptosis (?). Doc messed up and cut my lid and now I have dry eye every morning I get up. Both of my eyes still can't see straight......life really sucks as child and teenager but now I dont give shit about what people say, but this thing has given my lots of problems and complex thoughout my life. I have no complaints (especially with GOD) but people could have left me on my own. Love!

yem8000 1 year ago
@yem8000 hey!congrats on the surgery!are ya happy?well should i say you will be much happier after the swelling goes down! :) my eye stayed swelled for about 4or5 days give it a week or so&if the swelling dont go down have another check up with your doc you could have an allergic reaction to the meds you are using! but i was put on tobradex eye drops and cream stuff you have to squirt like sav in your eye!! but then one kind they put me on kept my eye red and they had to switch it. :)

@cliffshanesbaby ...hmm..seems to me that you;re really happy with your new eye huh ? (who wouldn't be, I mean isn't the eye the most important sence organ in our body?)hahaha thanks anyway
thekilmer09 1 year ago
Hello, thanks for the video. I have a question for you. Do you have binocular vision now? Do you use both eyes when you look at stuff? I had 2 surgeries, one at 7 and one at 24 and though my eyes looked better after both surgeries I was never able to get binocular vision and eventually every time my eye started squinting again. It took 8-10 yrs for the eye to start moving back. I wish I could fix my binocular vision because it's the only way to keep the eyes straight forever after the surgery.
ahunt1976 1 year ago
@ahunt1976 hey im not sure if i have binocular vision cause when i close one eye (left, one i had surgery on) you know i can tell cause the picture i see dont have as much in it as it did before i covered an eye and i dont know also because i never knew what it was like to see with both eyes! =)

13smileymiley 1 year ago
@13smileymiley hey my eye was straight right after surgery i do beleive but the docs did say that your eye(s) could move around and not be in the spot there suspposed to be in but in a months time if there still not aligned perfectly then you may have to hve another surgery...but within a month they will drift...need to know anything else please feel free to ask!! =)

jessatorrefiel09 1 year ago
First of all, you are gorgeous, and your eyes are perfectly aligned now! I have a question for you, though. I got my eyes done 2 days ago, and I noticed that immediately after the surgery, the bad eye (my right one), was still pointing inwards a bit. Apparently, it should straighten out over time. But I'm skeptical about it. Was your eye perfectly straight immediately after surgery, or did it take a while? :)
Tyrasibion 1 year ago
@Tyrasibion hey no my eye wasnt perfectly straight after surgery! it took a couple days as the doc told me it would! :) but congrats on the surgery if ya need to know anything feel free to ask!! and try not to worry yourself over it im sure everything will be fine! =) and thanks for your comment!

Thanks for the video. My surgery is on Oct. 8th and I am a bit nervous. Your video helped greatly with letting me know about the recovery time. I guess it only looks terrible for about one week or so. Do you have vision in that eye? Did the doctor tell you that the surgery is temporary?
09cruzin 1 year ago
@09cruzin yes the doc did tell me that it was temporary cause it can go back and then again it may never go back!but most people only need 2surgeries some may only need1but after the2ndits most likely2 never go back!the doc told me that mine is most likely to go back in 6 months and its been past 6 months and my eye is still straight so im hoping to not have to have another :) and yes i have vision in my eye! :):) need anything else please feel free to ask! and srry it takes so long to respond:)

I got this surgery about a week and a half ago, but the only problem is, my eye looks like if it's drifting upwards. Is this permanent or just a side effect?

Thank you for the answer!

yea you will have a strange feeling in your eye thats probally the disslolvable stitches in your eye :) and i ust to use the meds like that and somtimes i didnt get to use my eye much at all. but thats all normal!! doc told me to use it as much as i could as long as it didnt hurt and if it did just close it and give it a rest :) the 4th or 5th day will be much better :) and your welcome!!
cliffshanesbaby 1 year ago
@cliffshanesbaby i got mine a week ago and still no results this is my second strabismus surgery. i had one when i was a kid and one july 7th. how long did it take for you to get results?
mackeyst3 1 year ago
@mackeyst3 also by the fourth day i could see perfectly and very little pain and little double vision..now there is no pain and the redness is 99 percent gone and no double vision...had my post op today as well
mackeyst3 1 year ago
@mackeyst3 ( i replied to you and it showed up on here but when i refreshed it, it went away so i sent it again) well as soon as i could open my eye it was straight!! :) but my doc said that it would take a month for my brain to actually get ust to having my eye straight so during that month my eye could go any way...and after a month that is what my results would be. and thats great that your eye is almost healed!! and i hope you get the results you whish for!! :)
cliffshanesbaby 1 year ago
@cliffshanesbaby they almost didnt do the surgery because when they were about to start they notice that the muscle they were goin to work on was already done when i was a kid so he did the lower muscles at the last moment. he told me that if worse case there is no results that he still cant do more surgery cause of the risk..but i think they saw something and are not telling me..
mackeyst3 1 year ago
@mackeyst3 he also told me before the surgery it may take up to 3 surgeries to straighten out the eyes (its both of them) which is why i cant figure out why he changed his mind.
mackeyst3 1 year ago
@mackeyst3 hmmm i wonder why? &yea they told me that i had a 70% chance of it not going back but that was for people who had good vision.&i dont (in my bad eye i have 20/60 which is horrible!)&70% was really low in medical terms. he said if i wore glasses/contacts then it would be an 80% chance i want have to have it done again.&that most people do have to have 2 surgerys...within 6months the eyes start turning back if the surgery not goin2work :( and i hope your goes as planned :) good luck!!
cliffshanesbaby 1 year ago
well you will always have to continue using the meds for your eye every night (cause the meds make your vision blurry thats why you use it at night) until the doc says so....it took my eye 4 days before i could really start opening it as long as i wanted!! :) and your english is not bad!! :) feel free to ask anymore questions if i didnt help you!! i been through this and i want care to help you one bit!! :) good luck and hope you start feeling better!! :D
