Well seeing Mario:25 Pacman:31 Pokemon:12 or 13 Sonic:20 crash bandicoot: like pokemon.Well sonic has been taking sort and large steps in sonic colors maybe more in generations but mario's getting better...by ALOT just look at Super mario galaxy 2!Still no one knows what's happing with crash bandicoot.Pokemons taking LARGE steps too like pokemon black/white.Pac-man...um nothing yet.

Mario may have influenced a lot of video games, but I think there's one video game character especially who owes a lot to his existance. I think you know who he is. This character was created as a vanguard to compete with Mario. How can he come into existance, if there was no Mario to compete with? There can't be a "Pepsi" without a "Coke".

Mario is one of the main reasons why this character even came into being to begin with, and may be the reason why he got popular himself.

I'm kinda disappointed with the fact all you got was the original Super Mario All Stars game plus a CD soundtrack and a booklet about the history of Mario games, they could have added so much more like throw in Super Mario World, had interviews from the likes of Miyamoto had wallpaper for your PC just stuff like that would have made me a lot happier. Still happy 25th anniversary Mario lets hope the next 25 is just as good :)

Why do we still call Mario USA mario 2? The real 2 is out of the bag now. Everybody knows lost levels is 2. We can call the US 2 it's proper name now. Kinda weird they stuck with the old numbering system outside japan with the US/EU releases. Nintendo should just come clean about the lie and number the games properly. Mario even holds up 2 fingers on the disk system cover in the all stars menu.

The whole game is written off as a dream at the end of it to make up for the fact that it's a completely different game from the rest. Nintendo lied to us calling it super mario bros 2 but it's not. @HoennMaster Nintendo didn't create the game to be a mario game. If somebody owned Doki Doki panic played through it, beat it then picked up this game they'd say it was a hack and they'd be correct. Don't get me wrong I like the game Doki Doki panic is a fun game but it isn't mario. Super Mario bros 2 is the lost levels. If you look at all the JP releases it has a 2 on it. Even nintendo of America couldn't conceal mario's two fingers he flashes up on the Famicom Disk system cover in allstars.

Players could only compare the game to previous Mario titles, which had no similarities in terms of gameplay, and few similarities in terms of theme. There was no reason to say, "This doesn't feel like Mario," because the "Mario feeling" had not yet been established. In fact, in terms of gameplay, Marios 1 & 2 were the closest any two games featuring Mario had ever been in the US at that point.

Super Mario Land wasn't part of the actual Super Mario All-Stars list. It was just included on some versions of Super Mario All-Stars but I agree, Super Mario Land should have been included on this re-release.

Maybe they'll re-release all the SNES Super Mario games for Super Mario Worlds 25th Anniversary.
