His voice can do it, that's what counts. Not whether he is male or female. And for him as a normal male baritone, it is even more of a technical masterpiece than it was for Callas when she did her Carmen.

Who cares gay or not, his voice is crystal clear and arias are there to sing....Why travesty???Music does not have gender, and this aria is written for high voice, so what is the problem? It must have been done quite a while ago though, judging from his highs. Thank you!

@Brujicitititito Scholl's not gay. Whereas some countertenors are "proud of being gay," Scholl is not one of them. He is happily married to a woman and is a father. He grew up singing as a boy soprano in church and simply continued singing that way when he got older. Nothing to do with his sexual orientation. It's best not to make assumptions.
