@terentii Untouchables First aired: October 15, 1959 and Last aired: September 10, 1963. You can find the opening in my 1959 TV Show Intros Part 1 of 3. Great show!
@alleycat62021 One of the all-time best, especially the first year and a half. I remember "The Roaring Twenties" was on about the same time. Did it never make the Top 10 or 20?
How many years did "Danger Man" (a/k/a "Secret Agent") run?
In 1960 television was 10-years old and still spreading across America. Color television would not go mainstream for 13-years in the year 1973, even though many television companies would film in color. That is our grandparents Internet, television was the Next Big Thing, and it changed American culture from dining rooms to TV Dinners at the family entertainment center named television.
I was 10 years old this year and I remember all this stuff! Loved the music and everything was so nice back then! Oh how I wish I could go back in a time machine and stay there!
Very true! The credits shown in this clip are NOT from the 1960 opening season (those would have been in black & white). The ones shown in this clip are from the beginning of the 1965 season, when it began to be filmed in color & when the late great Bill Demarest joined the cast as "Uncle Charley" (due to Bill Frawley having to leave the show due to ill health). THANKS for your comment!
Yikes! It's bad enough that we were forced to watch commericals with every bit of entertainment during the era, I certainly won't give their names again, even if you could still buy all the products. LOL
Now the music of the fifties and sixties I LOVE, so classic and classy. Elmer Gantry, fantastic film, Burt (swoon!) really deserved that Oscar. Hitchcock, Bonanza, TZ, ES, I Luv L, all terrific shows...I like Perry too. :) Bugs Bunny presents! Woohoo! WOW, i never saw that early Flintstones credits! Ooh, Thriller with Boris Karloff, I've heard of that show, but never got to see it. Don't have thriller channel. This was so nicely put together with the music clips and everything.
What, no "Untouchables" among the top shows of 1960?!?

A little corrigendum-William Frawley came before William Demarest.

I just LOVED 1960.
Figuring out my age? Cut it out, LOL.
Have a nice holiday.

If TV commercials were to be listed for that year, among them would be for Brylcreem and Pepsodent.

Well I'm glad I'm getting into the stuff you recognize. I think the one I just posted for 1965 with stats, you might like too.

You can rent the Checkmate series from Netflix. It's a little dated, but I loved Sebastian Cabot.

What a great time capsule, really well done. I hadn't heard of "Checkmate". Thanks.
