Look closely... they're all white. That's not saying that they're not gang members, they're definitely criminals, but the odds of them using stolen shotguns in any real criminal activity is almost nil. Furthermore, they didn't steal ammo for them which means they will have to acquire ammo from some other place. Odds are on them scratching the serial numbers off and fencing the guns rather than keeping them. Shotguns are not a weapon of choice for street gangs.

Central Indiana is a suburban neighborhood with a predominantly white community, meaning that these probably were not gang members, since you're so apt to profile people. Well...with complicated alarms these days,such as multiple silent motion detectors to disarm. A thief cannot be sure he has accounted for them all. That is why they use the smash and grab because it is the quickest way in and out. being discreet is not an issue and no matter what security measure the store has it is rendered useless because by the time the cops get there they are long gone. Oh and by the way I'm sure the had a getaway car out on the street. That's why they got away : )

Divide that by at least 5 guys needed to get the job done and you'll get less than $6k per guy. I don't many people that'll risk years in prison for a few thousand.
