@TheMudbogger79 how much money have you put into that rig? I have a stock 98 silverado extended cab z71 and I want to mod it out for wheelin hard core. I want to build something like your truck so I'm wondering what the price range is
dodges are way better truck hook a big bloack to a 5.9 and that big block can have 54s or whatver the cummins will take it to town so squeel all power and still go through holes big blocks go through
you say that a 5.9 common rail cummins cant spin those 54s like you do check out chester hensley on here and he will show you that the 5.9 will out do any big block
what is it with people telling u you need torq... i have a 2003 chevy 1500 with tractor tires 51'' that we swapped a 5.9 cummins in it made 500 fpt and 230 horse needless to say i hated it! went to a small block stroker 500 horse now i have fun... its not a school bus anymore lol what ya need is to keep up the good work nice truck!
@Dirtymax66lb7 i think i will stick to gas for mud riding all the guys i ride with that run diesels cant turn the tires now where close to what i can and , they might make more trq but it wont touch my hp and rpms to sling mud , they are better left for hual trucks
This is probably the worse mud to drive through at river run park , but we have driven through the length of this mud hole with our 6x6's both forwards and backwards until its not even a challenge any more.
i know you say you don't want to cut the tires, but that motor sounds way to expensive to me to say you can't afford to try some cut boggers or tractor tires... nice truck. looks like plenty power, just needes more traction.
@mustangstephen its definatly noy a money issue , i break shafts with them now uncut , but last week i got some 2 inch ouverson shafts so now im looking for a set of tractor tires to run but i do not want any with deep tread i like slinging lots of mud and putting on a show and the boggers do that verywell even if i get stuck a little more often that the guys with tractor tires , i just like having fun and getting stuck is just part of it , but we will see what the future holds
@TheMudbogger79 I put a pair of 31-15.5-15 tractor ties on the back of my tacoma every once in a while and play. All I can say is it is night and day difference between my MTs and those. They only have about 3/4" of tread too. throw mud decent in 2wd... tends to push the front end if I turn tires and gas it. lol But it still aint to hard to get stuck if the hole is big enough. All I can say is definatly get your rig ready if you run tractor tires though. anyway, keep having fun!!!
@LSfreak84 i have but i still go to a few mud races with it and if i did it would put me in a class with the 3 second trucks and it does real good now so i will leave them like they are
@xcrunnersrock removing every other lug and cutting the rest deeper to create a bigger void in the tread......makes it kind of like a paddle tire........very effective in the mud but you have to run in a different class when you do it.
how do you keep everything cool when youre giving it so much heck?
