WOW!! How the heck do you do that!? I want to learn to play the recorder and talk too. Amazing. Now that I got that out of my system. If the recorder is made by Yamaha it is Boroque if it's not than I don't have a clue.
i taught myself how to play this, along with pans labrinth and harry potter and right now im half way through playing amazing grace. i prefer teaching myself. but great work on this video
Do you have a purple transparant recorder?? Is it good, because I saw one that I might buy (and it's probably the same one) and I want to know if it's any good.
This has helped me alot, I can play MY HEART WILL GO ON and AMAZING GRACE on my recorder flute, but I have ALWAYS had problems with Star wars, and the Superman theme.
very nicely done i like how you said the note over the music so i didnt have to go through and wright it down my self...and how did you know i was going to ask if the thumb was down the hole time?
this is great ..can u show me the notes of my heart will go on ...i dont know hhow to read the notes but if u cann etell me the notes like you did on ode to joy playing and sayinfg the notes ..or u dont have to play ..but the notes please ....but notes with letter i can read only so please...
i do improvasion more than rememberising a song so if i play a ramdom song off the top of my head then ill sound like a pro but if they ask me 2 do it again then i'm screwed
i did not follow that. I have not learned the bottom notes( the ones played with the right hand). If u may i have seen it done with just left handed notes and i was wondering if u may learn that and post it on youtube for me. Thx! :) BTW love what u do. U make utube a learning place for the students, good idea. Most people show inaproprete stuff.
Thanks so very much for your recorder lessons on You Tube . I have only resumed the recorder again after a 40 year break. I find it so very easy to follow your videos and I really appreciate your posting them. If you would like to post anything else I would use it too Thanks again.
This is an emus recorder. Unfortunately, the company changed the "recipe" and now the recorders sound like garbage so I wouldn't recommend. I would recommend the angle halo recorders from Peripole. I play that one on the Ode to Joy video.
Pretty good, but it's a bit too fast for a beginner to learn off of. I had to go to another one of your videos, and listen to what notes you were calling out, check what they were, then play that, I wasn't really able to tell from just this video. A higher quality camera might help too. Or maybe just better format for the videos you upload.
Yes, this is not a beginner song. Start with BAG songs like hot crossed buns or mary had a little lamb. When you do this, jot down the note names on a piece of paper so you can practice w/out the video. Then feel free to pause and rewind parts to practice with.
I was wondering how to do different octaves on a recorder? I'm looking at some flute sheet music, and it involves different octaves. Is it possible to do different octaves on a recorder? If so, how?
See if you can find a recorder fingering chart online. It involves "overblowing," but you may also have to uncover a hole part way or something. I only teach my students low C to high D, so I'm not too familiar with the sharps and flats and the upper register. Good luck!
well... A = La, B = Si, C = Do, D = Re, E = Mi, F = Fa, G = Sol... in most of the spanish - language countries it's very common to see this system. "La" is pronounced like the "la" in "lamp". "Si" like the "sy" in "system". "Do" like "do" in "door". "Re" like the "re" in "rest". "Mi" like the "mi" in "miracle". "Fa" like the "fa" in "farm" and "Sol" like the "sol" in "solo". That's it "musicteacher44". And thanks for the video!
I had never heard of "so la SI do" but apparently a lot of people use it. One is for movable do, and the other is for fixed do. If "do" is always C, then you call ti "si." Its all new to me too!
Thank you! I hadn't noticed that before. I think the "si" means it is fixed do which means Do is always C. If anyone has any further corrections on this topic, please post!
hi i have a question... ok well i was wondering if you could send me the notes... i know you say it in the video, dont get me wrong your really good at the recorder. just ya when i get the notes it doesn't sound anything like yours :P o well thanks anyway! ^^
I didn't realize they used solfeg in Mexico! I THINK, it would translate to C=do, D=re, E=mi, F=fa, G=sol, A=la, B=ti. Does this work? Maybe someone else can answer this question better than I!
Oh thank you! Boy was I off. I really appreciate this. Me playing this will be the opener to my next video. I'll definitely put a link to you in the side.

how to write the one where you do thumb on bottom plus first four fingers
Randomizer77 2 years ago 2
Thumb and 4 fingers down is an "F." However, you should play it with 3 fingers on top (not including your thumb) and 1 finger on the bottom.
musicteacher44 2 years ago
I don't get it... it doesn't look like a German recorder to me. hmmmm
