  • what does this have to do with Cthulhu?

  • Who else clicked to see Ctulhu?

  • what 2007 upload? and alrdy in 16:9?

  • LOL @ TwoBlumen! Hilarious!

  • Tori Spelling is the single most frightening aspect of any film.

  • that is a piece of shit bad acting low budget horrible script maybe

  • I saw a comment that Lovecraft was asexual, yet his wife called him an "adequately excellent lover".

  • 1:02 How posh is that - having a fish tank with a polar bear in it !

  • Why is there a woman in a Lovecraft based movie??

  • This sucked.

  • stupid hollywood, this is not Lovecraft

  • Pure shit ! Why is Lovecraft always fucked up by cheap idiots retards directors! sorry for my bad english!

  • July 7th is my birthday o.o

  • a movie about chthulhu, without chtulhu

  • 1:24 he comes Zalgo !!

  • Looks boring.

  • @meganinsteiner22 - plus it has Tori Spelling, the old and unholy one!

  • 338-338!

  • Shit that has no relationship with anything HP Lovecraft wrote but just trades on his good name.

  • Um this is actually a fairly good movie. The fact that the main character is gay unfortunately drags every immature idiots attention away from the content of the movie. Besides, can anyone name a better lovecraft movie so far?

  • @hanaryukoku The Call of Cthulhu, Whisper in Darkness, The Dunwitch Horror. This is the very, very worst film ever to try and cash in on Lovecraft.

  • @hanaryukoku Sure. The HPL Historical Society's "Call of Cthulhu" is much better than this. They're now doing "Whisperer in Darkness."

  • there i made likes and dislike equal :)

  • @shadowX50 Nope, more dislike now

  • @shadowX50 i made Dislike more XD

  • this has nothing to do with Cthulu. It looks like some sort of Psychological movie. where is the cthulu creature?

  • ,.i.. >_< ..i.,

  • This is total crap.

  • it just made me lol tbh

  • If it's not the official trailer, don't say it is. That is dishonest and stupid.

  • I though chtuhlu was some kind of octopus god demon

  • This movie is terrible. I should know, I wrote and produced it. Sorry.

  • a gay movie? WTF!?

  • Epic trolls are epic

  • i hope cthulhu eats your soul

  • It is real look it up lol its an actual movie it just doesnt have anything to do with Lovecrafts Cthulhu

  • yo dagon, yo cthulu, Zi dagon anna lu, zi dagon cthulu!

  • does it even show the cthulu?

  • Thought it was real... got really disappointed though

  • 0-0 wtf i just saw i rather watch the south park one

  • The 322 people who liked this are shitheads. The 290 who disliked it are TOTALLY FUCKIN RIGHT!

  • Thanks for making one of my most loved urban legends a complete laughing stock.

    Bunch of fags you are.

  • L/C or no L/C , this is some scary shit....

  • Hhmmm - think I'll stick to the books

  • Great. Fags can taint even the complete ruination of mankind. Now I suppose Cthulhu will be voiced by Morgan Freemman, and played by by Edward James Olmos with no makeup.

  • This trailer sucks. The movie is actually pretty good and creepy, but it has nothing to do with Cthulhu. It's from another Lovecraft's novel: "The Shadow Over Innsmouth".

  • Cthulhu is not for holywood, dont worry, everyone souls will be taked at some point

  • . . . is there some secret pact out there in the movie making world that says that 99.9% of all movies that have anything to do with H. P. Lovecraft is to be wrong, horrible and/or make fans wish they could stone the creators?

  • This is a real movie, not a fan-made trailer. Haven't seen it, but the director and writer said that the protagonist is gay, and the movie is an allegory about the "horror of returning home". No Cthulhu anywhere that I'm aware of; apparently the Great Old Ones are actually homophobes....

  • Oh my God is Nyarlathotep!!!... Wait... ufff it was just Tori Spelling.

  • Was that Tori Spelling? She kinda counts as a horrifying Elder Thing, yeah? I may see it, I may not...

  • you will be banished to a dark oblivion for making this shitty trailer

  • WHERE THE FUCK IS CTHULHU

  • I'm confused. Does Cthulhu get any action in this movie? ;) Remakes gotta be good for something. I mean, Nosferatu managed to pull it off, didn't he?

  • Cthulhu? That just looked like some guy freaking out on tori spelling. That's anybody's reaction to tori spelling. not worth making a movie about. If i could convay a fart noise via text, i would do it right now.

  • Russel is just an average gay man, living the dream with his partner in the big city

    UNTIL ONE DAY!

Russel wakes up to find out that his partner, isn't so "human" after all!

FROM THE MAKERS OF "I SAW MOMMY KISSING C'THULU", COMES THIS SUMMER'S COMEDY BLOCKBUSTER WHICH WILL MAKE YOU LAUGH, CRY AND CHEER AS ONE MAN TRAVELS BACK HOME TO INNSMOUTH TO INTRODUCE HIS LOVER TO HIS FAMILY!

ITS "MOM, IM DATING A SHOGGOTH!" - ONLY ON ABC FAMILY!

warning - watching may cause insanity. c'thulu fhtagn!

  • @TwoBlumen

    I....I love you.

  • @TwoBlumen I wish you could do this as a video a la "Must Love Jaws", "10 Things I Hate About Commandments", etc.

  • @TwoBlumen HAHAHAH XD

  • @TwoBlumen Dude... thats hilarious. Hahahahha

  • @TwoBlumen

    I laughed, I cried....I went insane.

  • @TwoBlumen Rated PG13

  • What @RafaelKmargo said. I saw this movie in LA (and kinda sorta got shut down during the Q/A with the director after. Ha!) It looked great - the design and costumes were outstanding, some of the shots were phenomenal, some of the acting was good. But the story was crap, all over the place, and not even remotely close to the complexity that is HPL. Very disappointing. Nobody can make a good HPL movie. Well, maybe Dagon comes close.

  • It was mostly based on the two Lovecraft stories: "The Thing on the Doorstep" and The Shadow Over Innsmouth.

  • Advice to film-producers: the Cthulhu-mythos and all thereby affiliated themes and characters are way too complex, genuinely cult and too goddamn intricate to make a movie out of so please don't bother us anymore with your cheap-no-thrills and downright boring travesty of a true classic story...!

  • Call of Cthulhu: The CW Edition

  • the movie looks more alike a porn movie than a horror movie

  • Wow this looks like everything Lovecraft fans don't look for in a movie about Lovecraft books. Nice job somehow managing to miss EVERYTHING that makes the Mythos interesting.

  • @ChildrenofAmory Well, since I've actually seen it, I can say with all confidence that you're wrong. It captures exactly the sort of mood and themes Lovecraft used in his writings, set in a modern context. Unless by "EVERYTHING that makes the Mythos interesting", you mean obsessive adherence to canon. In which case, sorry fanboy, this is for grownups.

  • Like one of his followers, being a catholic, messed with his universe by dividing everything he saw on good and bad, not understanding that it must be looked on with detachment from the prism of good and evil, trying to abstract from the moral, and understand that some things just is there, not being good, nor evil. The same way those hollywood fucks are going to make a shitty movie which no man, who enjoy H.P.'s works will consider worth attaching to the universe, because they just dont get it.

  • @Stremaa lovecraft wasn't a complete asexual, he even was married and his wife described him as a quite good lover. And if you are refering to the ''new'' movie with tom cruise, they aren't doing it ( for now). I hope it stays that way.. it would break my heart if a shitty remake of lovecrafts great stories would make it in our cinemas.. Greetings

  • @icebarker77 Del Doro would kick your ass if he wasn't spending so much time trying to get a perfect looking Shogoth finished.

  • @im2not2cory proofs that you don't understand a single thing about lovecraft.. it's NOT about the looks..

  • and you can actually see it when he describes an atmosphere, people's faces, architecture and stuff. It's not even horrors, more like mysticism. Most stories end with only a hint or two, not revealing the end completely, which leaves some room for your imagination....

  • Well Cthulhu shouldn't be in the movie, but what the fuck with this screaming woman again, AND a sex scene? Lovecraft was an asexual (I hope I spelled it right), and, so far I've read all his stories, and his "followers" ones, and done with co-authors, there is not a single sex scene. Every lovecraft story moved you to, most likely, either england or, most of the times "new england", of a XVIII-XIX centuries...

  • I ain't even gonna bother to see this film...Cause I bet that it will be an utter pain to watch it ...At least for those who actually have read the story by Lovecraft.

  • shouldn't ''The Call of Ktulu'' from Metallica be the theme song?

  • I can see where this ties in with Cthulhu. It wasn't brilliant, but I'm willing to bet 90% of the comments just haven't read the story.

  • What the FUCK is this shit?

  • Oi, where's the squid?

    He's not even there!

  • Er...Why's it called Cthulu, and there's no Cthulu?

It's like watching a movie called Hellboy, without the character in the movie to justify its name.

    DUH!

  • I Bet Cthulhu Isnt Even In The Movie Haha

  • i have to agree with haloid

  • i have to agree with haloid

  • i have to agree with haloid

  • i have to agree with haloid

  • wtf is this? this aint based on the story is it?

  • Um, sorry but your film does not meet the criteria of "lovecraftian"

There are no sanity shattering revelations nor horrible squid beasts, please try to read a lovecraft novel before you make a movie about it.

  • thumbs up if u only look at the chicks in the sex scene!

  • This is not Call of Cthulhu this seems to be "Shadow over Innsmouth"

  • this movie was actually really nice. the lovcraftian undertones actually shined through! didn't think it would be good at all. but it was, and it doesn't show any monsters except some fishmen, but those are living in the sewers in this movie... which is actually quite strange since they are usually afraid of the shoggoths.

But hey, I say watch it:)

  • w.t.f that chick from beverly hills has to Loveraft arts, omfG?

  • This probably sucked every bit as much as The Dunwich Horror movie.

  • lovecraft is spinning in his grave

  • WHAT THE HEACK!!?? THIS IS SHIT SHIT SHIT! IT ISN´T LOVECRAFT .i.

  • @TheWatsonRlz Actually, it's loosely based on The Shadow Over Innsmouth.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sorry video what was that you showed me? It was kind of hard to see it through all of the BULL****!

  • There is a distinct lack of horrible squid faced monsters.

  • I hate the people that made this video to fuck with people, and I hate the people stupid enough to think this is real, and I hate the people who call themselves "REAL FANS".

    I hate everyone.

  • @Necrokeryx It is real, I've seen part of it. It's just really shitty and has basically nothing to do with H.P. Lovecraft except for a few minor similarities to Shadow over Insmouth.

  • @Necrokeryx I hate you.

  • @Necrokeryx This is real, this is actually a real movie, very, very, very loosely based on The Shadow Over Innsmouth.

  • @Necrokeryx News Flash, numbnuts. It is real. You can rent if from NetFlix. I wouldn't recommend it, but you're wrong about it not being real.

  • @Necrokeryx A lot of hater there..... HATER!!!!....

You know what htey say about haters..... Am i right Hater?

  • Why do they have make a complete balls up of HPL stories. They should keep to the plot and not have some sort of gay sub text.

  • this is blasphemy! iya cthulhu!

  • i'm with all the other REAL fans here... this is NOT Lovecraft

  • Poor Lovecraft...

  • whats this movie about?

  • 0:47

    you ARE sucking dick

  • @Bootcherthe

Well, at least you tried, mustache man.

  • so...where's the giant octopus monster?

  • They couldn't call it Dagon, because there's already a movie called Dagon. It's called Cthulhu because that's the next best name.

If you don't like it, don't watch.

  • This movie is a piece of shit. They were more interested in making a gay interest movie than anything based on Lovecraft. If they wanted to make a gay interest movie, that's fine, but don't waste the title Cthulhu, and our time!

  • That had nothing to do with the Call of Cthulhu. Who ever made that never read the story, that's for sure.

  • FHTANG! ^//|\\^

  • am i the only one who actually liked this movie? give it a try. it's one of those which seem pretty bad at first. it had an unique feeling, but no way anything lovecraftian.

  • I've ever knew, tory spelling must be a reptilian or something like that, I agree with people sayin' this shit doesn't smell like lovecraft's work...

  • This feels more like a slasher film than a movie based on Lovecraft's work.

  • shit, I just wait lovecraft's work!!! this is shit!!!! do you know???

  • Might fine trailer! We are the new producer/director teams for the feature film version of At The Mountains Of Madness (since del Toro dropped it in March). Check out the fun trailer for the just-published audio book on our channel here and our online platform at sjlume.com, join us, and please stand by. We'd love to hear from all Lovecraft fans and will be holding contests, info sessions and more!

  • @sjlume Sorry but if you consider this a "mighty fine trailer" then I'm afraid I'm a little leary about your At The Mountains Of Madness film. I hope I'm wrong.

  • People read Lovecraft for a good scare, supernatural beasties and otherworldy monsters beyond imagining, not subtle social commentary on the plight of certain minorities in small towns. I am so sick of people hijacking popular source material to vomit out their personal philosophies(The Last Airbender being an anti-war message) instead of bringing to life a wonderful story in a grand scale.

  • Is there even anything about Cuthulu in this movie?

  • @TheRocketJocky A kid says "Cthulhu" at one point. Just "Cthulu" that particular piece of dialogue one word with no coherent reference.

  • @sandorsbox llllllllllllllllaaaaaammmmmmmmmeeeeee

  • Many fundamentalists would call the film's protagonist an abomination, but in truth, it was the whole film. I'm gay and was so excited to see an openly gay protagonist in a film, but being a fan of Lovecraft transcends amoral preference. The incoherent writing, poor acting, convoluted story and abuse of the Mythos left me really wanting to find out who I could blame, call them up and yell at them a lot.

  • @sandorsbox Its Blaspheme! Us followers of Cthulhu will not go easy on those fools!

  • me and the dark lord cthulhu! together we ride away! smoking my friends with cthulhu, and blowing them all away!

  • its funny how fucking kids that learned about cthulhu from south park come to this trailer and go "OMFG NO LIEZ DER IS NO CTHULHU IN FILM! FAKE?@#@OJ#I!"

you fucking faggots really need to look these things up before coming here.Cthulhu was said to communicate with people TELEPATHICALLY! Lovecraft neve explained what cthulhu actually looks like, only that he looked like an octopus/dragon/human.

  • @EphedPrankZ Although Cthulhu communicates with people telepathically, the end of the story is about the Norweigian seaman's encounter with the creature; it even explains the death of some of his friends to the creature. Although it is past tense and told in a flashback sequence, the story does technically contain a part of his emergence. Another thing, Lovecraft did explain what he looked like. The octupus/dragon/human was the FIRST description, and was of the statuette. Towards the end,

  • @EphedPrankZ more descriptions are told in heavier detailed, such as his "claws", "tentacles", "feelers", "red eyes", "miles high" body, and etc....it even explains how he looks sitting upon his throne in R'lyeh. I do agree with you on that kids are sheep when it comes to gaining literature knowledge, but the other parts of your argument aren't entirely correct....

  • @Kira90Bliss I own the Mythos and actually reread Call of Cthulhu last night for the 2nd time. If you don't believe me, I can past some quotes, if you'd like.

  • @Kira90Bliss *paste

  • the 7th art just can´t have its cthulhu version. lovecraft didn´t write screenplays, they way he described things was just the opposite.

  • @itsmylife93 I wouldn't call the effects in 'The Call Of Cthulhu' horrible effects, certainly they aren't the latest in CGI bluescreening, but for a small budget Indy film like TCOC they're pretty damn memorable for stop motion animation, the best way to describe the effects would be "What if Merian C. Cooper and Willis O. Brien had in the 1920s decided to create a film based on a Lovecraft story instead of creating King Kong in 1933?"

  • No way in hell this was based on Lovecraft's work.

  • @spacecowboy5000 Hey! I'll have you know that Lovecraft was highly renown for the frequent appearance of raunchy love scenes and polar bears in his work!

  • @NikolaiCarpathia ROFL!!!

  • @spacecowboy5000 judging from all ive seen about this the only thing i can think of that this would slightly resemble is a shadow over innsmouth. but thats hardly even a resemblance there

  • @dudster9867 I picked up a microscopic amount of "Shadow Over Innmouth" too - but not enough to fill a condom. It's as if someone made this movie, figured there was some weird sea stuff, and thought they'd stick the name "Cthulhu" onto it. Seriously, they didn't even try.

  • @spacecowboy5000 true. this film is a disgrace to love craft and to the cthulu mythos. the only lovecraft based movie i found to be entertaining is from beyond

  • @dudster9867 That wasn't bad. But honestly, I don't think Hollywood can handle the vision or the inner horror Lovecraft had. It's too big for them.

  • @spacecowboy5000 they could. they just won't spend the money to do it.

  • @dudster9867 Yeah, but they'll spend billions on Twilight. *barf*

  • @spacecowboy5000 oh god. did you have to mention twilight? that ruined vampire films for me.

  • @spacecowboy5000 Well the Cthulhu mythos has streched far beyond Lovecraft's work, so no, it's probably not based on his work.

  • @spacecowboy5000 yup looks so bullshit!and where are the deep ones???i hate the 20 century filmindustry well not everything but pretty much

  • @punkjames2 21th century, I think. Everything is a lot of flash and effects. A good Lovecraft movie needs great writers and actors. We should only see the creatures briefly until the end. I really don't want to sound sexist but when was there a woman in a Lovecraft story - let alone a sex scene? Hollywood would try to make Chtulhu in 3D. Everyone working on that one would die mysteriously, horribly. Muahahaha!

  • @spacecowboy5000 the guy who directed pans labyrinth is working with james cameron to make the mountains of madness should be interesting

  • @spacecowboy5000 the fishmen and cult of dagon are from his work

  • @spacecowboy5000 You could say exactly the same thing about any of Brian Yuzna's "Lovercraftian" movies.

  • a porn movie with a story?

  • @UltimateThrashAttack Not even that compelling.

  • where is cthulhu???

  • @baladonian hes not in this movie

  • @baladonian i know its like some gay movie thats called...the hobo but about a tree

  • @baladonian Chuthulu is smoking a joint!"

  • What is this I don't even...

  • @Domercuri Celebrity hate mail

  • Comment removed

  • @Luffy511 Is an awesome vid.

  • where was this shot? it all looks like its on the hudson river in ny

  • cthulhu..nooo ****** coon and friends alert...alert you guys..seriously

  • God....I'm tired of the noobs asking who Lovecraft and Cthulhu is, he and it are probably one the most underated influences of horror, but I like to think modestly he's the best.

  • god where have i seen that big crate thing with the hands sticking out???

  • WTF?! This is crap...

  • Tori Spelling as Cthulhu ~ beyond awesome!

  • @wulfemom She's wayyyy more terrible than poor, poor, old Cthulhu. He's no match for her, especially in her g
