@hanksteelbranch Hi Hank, This instrumental was a dedication to our friend (and my cousin) Mel (Cudgie) Waycott. To my knowledge Johnny only put it on his very first CD which was just a local (Maine) release. This was a time before he started recording nationally. Cudgie and Johnny used to play shows at the Woodland High School together along with Carson Leighton and the rest of us. We were all a bunch of nuts so we always had a great time. lol.
@music04777 Thanks for posting all the Johnny HIland tracks. I think he's one of the best pickers in any style, and it's interesting hearing some of his earlier work. If you have anything else, especially early recordings, I would be interested to hear them. He must have been really something to see up close.
@music04777 I also have a CD that Johnny made when his uncle Ricky passed away in 2003. There's only 4 songs on it, I did post all four of them on Youtube. John was supposed to play at the wake but couldn't because he and his uncle were close so me and a few friends of mine took his place. I live right up the road from his aunt Terri and I see her around quite a bit. Usually when I play around this area she'll come listen.
You can find this track on a compilation CD called Nashville Guitars. It's on Amazon.

What cd is this from? I have both of Johnny Hiland's and this isn't on either of them. If it's from the Don Kelley band cd do you know how to get it?
