The director in the beginning was telling him that he didn't have to make the shot, just kick it in the direction of the basket, that they would edit the rest later. I doubt he would bow down to him, like he was, if he simply kicked it towards the direction of the basket. I've kicked a soccer ball through a basketball hoop before, now I didn't dribble the ball like he did prior but its possible. Professional soccer players have an incredible sense of accuracy with their kicks.

Actually there were others that captured it. It was meant to just be a crowd reaction while it looked like he was kicking it in, but he actually made the shot, thats why they go so wild at the end
