My little Sophie who's a Yorkshire terrier is close to the end of her days and it brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. She's turning 11 in 2012 and has been with me since I was 9. I (almost) lost my dog to a pitbull fight. The pitbull started to attack me, and Devo, my husky, stood in front of me and protected me. He risked his life to protect me, his owner. He barely could stand after that. He was just a 2 year old husky, vs a full grown pitbull. The pitbull, got destroyed though..(Sad for the owner..) And ever since them, because of the loyalty my husky gave me, The only dog breed I even consider, is a husky...
My Sammy died. We had to put him down because he had TERRIBLE Epilepsy. It's nearly impossible to adjust when they've been such a vital part of your routine, your life, and then all of a sudden, I don't have to put the doggie bowl out anymore. I don't have to sneak him a piece of steak at dinner. I even missed hiding his Epilepsy pills in his food. He was only 4, and I still cry although it's been a year. I can't wait to see you again, Sammy Boy.

i'm getting myself ready as my dog Rocky turned 16 this past Feb. and he is completely deaf has really bad arthritis i carry him out to do his necessities and carry him back he still has a good appetite and knows what's going on,but quality of life is shit when he can only lay in his bed. got him at 8wks old in 1995,he would walk my 3 sons around the house to the back door everyday when they'd get home from school then go back to the front door and guard his kids Jesus we're going to miss him
My dog... My best friend for almost eleven years... She passed away in Nov 2010... She was exactly 2 months from her eleventh birthday... I hadn't seen her for weeks before I found out she had eaten something weird from an over flowing trashbin *doesn't live at home*. She had stomach infection. Thing got trapped in her GI tract. She was too old and too little to survive the surgery. I've missed her everyday since wishing I could have said good bye to her before she was put down.

It's odd we allow these tiny souls to come into our lives and then in what seems a heartbeat they are gone. They give so much to us and ask for so little. I hope that when I go across that I meet some of my furry friends. Dogs, complete us as humans. They are always there, never ask for anything, except for a romp with a worn out sock or tennis ball every now and then. But they give so much to our lives. I hope that when I die I can come back as a dog. A well loved dog.

Ya it's a hard thing to do but atleast you she lived a long good life. Was she suffering from the tumor and not eating or could she have lived longer? I know my Greyhound lived till 13 and he had many "fatty tumors" on his stomach for a few years but he eventually stopped eating and arthritis kicked in so it was the most humane thing to due. It's a hard thing to do but it does actually help to eventually get another dog, not to forget but you feel better.

I know how you feel. I lost my 16 yr old cocker spaniel nearly 2 years ago. But losing her was not nearly as painful as watching my best friend suffer.

Aw that's sad :(
I almost lost my puppy cause he had parvo.
But he survived it. It sucks. I cried that whole day.
I don't know what i would do if i didn't have my koda bear.

Man im a 21 years old guy,i love fighting sports and never cry if i have pain.But when i saw this vid i cried so much especially at the end with your cat and the other dog.RIP your dog im really sorry what happened with her.Dogs are better than human friends.They are never cheat you,they are not selfish,they can truly love unlike most of peoples + they are loyal.Nice vid man

Ya it's a hard thing to do but atleast you she lived a long good life. Was she suffering from the tumor and not eating or could she have lived longer? I know my Greyhound lived till 13 and he had many "fatty tumors" on his stomach for a few years but he eventually stopped eating and arthritis kicked in so it was the most humane thing to due. It's a hard thing to do but it does actually help to eventually get another dog, not to forget but you feel better.

yea she lived good, im sad to hear about your greyhound =[, i think my dog had the same thing, im sure that was the end for her, she was just getting to that age , you know?, ive thought about getting a new dog, cause i have a cat , and since he got lonely, i went and got a little kitten to keep him company when no one is home, i could tell the cat seemed depressed after a few days of my dog not being around =[

Same thing happent to my dog about 1/2 months ago, same thing in the stomach, my dog ARGO was 9 year old.

I know how you feel. I lost my 16 yr old cocker spaniel nearly 2 years ago. But losing her was not nearly as painful as watching my best friend suffer.
