Ope. Did some more quick research, and there is alot of talk about the knew DMC team doin a "Reboot" to the DMC games, so if that is the case, then yeah, it's pretty much a completely diffrent chracter in a diffrent world with the same name, who is not to cool to smoke.

And C. Capcom has ruined DMC by making it in a more "modern" time and giving Dante a new "modern" look and is throwing in a more "Emo" plot line to show the "Emotional" side of the new "Dante", just like every other game out there with 2+ sequels. And god i hope it hasn't come to that.

Allright man so, I am going to give you my guess at the to the DMC5 trailor. So first MAJOR thing first, the new "Dante". Ok so I'm seeing 3 options here.

A. New chatacter, not Dante. Hoping I am right on just this one.

B. Dante has had his demon powers stolen, or related issue, tunring his hair black and making him more human, hince being able to keep him chained up, and making him result to a new wepon. Also his gun fight and movements seemed alot more, less crazy and human-like as well.

I said I had all the DMC games, so ignoring Dante's backstory (Which was never explained in the games), I think the majority of DMC gamers know what to expect him to look like. If his old name was Tony, why does he say ''My name is Dante''? And why does he look so much like that cunt Tameem Antoniades?

But another explanation is that mundus the demon captured him, it says that in the novel. And it's called character modeling, almost all games now days find someone who looks like they want it model it after them.

I have all the games and even some action figures of DMC and my reaction was the same as you except I added in a rant about who turned Dante into an emo little b*tch and where can I find him and hurt him for it? My friend and I came out with a theory that this isn't Dante but some sort of long lost skunk looking son or something... We are heavily in denial and I hope they scrap this current design and go back to the much cooler original.

You may be right: it's Dante in another dimension so it's not the same Dante because it's a reboot...which is stupid because we asked for a 5th, not a "reboot". The thing I'm most angry about is that this Dante was modeled after one of the directors so he basically wanted to ruin the franchise by inserting himself into the game. Egotistic prick.

Aw mate I felt exactly the same way you did, and even if they hire Reuben Langdon for the voice acting, I highly doubt It will be the same. I am not willing to give ninja theory a chance unless the game is based 100% in the DMC universe we all know and fix the emo gay look. Ninja Theory is actually more focused on Gameplay than on the dmc universe which is not always a bad thing when developing a game. But when it comes to DMC IT IS a fucking bad thing! and that really makes me feel frustrated.

I'm a Huge fan of DMC and i was at first a little "WTF is this...Dante? O hell no" but after watching the trailer like 327 times, i've realized that the game looks kick ass and i cant wait to buy it. Sure he looks different but it's just a look, im pretty sure the game will be BAD ASS. But hey, thats just what i think.

Plus in one of the art books theres a design simular to the one in the trailer, but still, what was capcom thinking. I hope its a clone.
