Excellent collection. Is there any printed collection (i.e. a book) of Serov's works that you would recommend? Is there any with as much scope as the one you've displayed here?
Why do I prefer Valentin Serov to all the other Russian artists? I think because he was the perfect balance between realism and impressionism, and he had such a vibrant, joyful way of capturing everything he painted with such an artistic flair. Not an illustrator, but a true artist. and such a genius! Entering the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, his paintings are the first you are likely to encounter.
I really don't care a whole lot for the pictures, thier nice :] but I mostly just love the nocturne! One of my favorite and one of the hardest too. :]
Wow! This is playing of Chopin at the highest level! The singing of the piano under Kissin's touch is amazing in this Nocturne that has so much musical depth.
