  • Cool, it just sounds kinda funny with that accent. Kinda like there's a hint of slang...

  • Thanks, I hate my accent ;)

  • One question- I have a different translation of the dojo- kun, which is more correct?

    Seek perfection of character

    Be sincere

Put maximum effort into everything you do

    Respect others

    Develop self- control

(the meanings are similar, is important to folow them...). Thanks for the video :O)

  • Hi,

I would suggest that yours is a more accurate translation; mine was my interpretation of the meaning of the words from when I was younger. I strive to keep them in mind in whatever I do - it's a sound and very clever philosophy/path/way to seek/follow.

    Cheers, Peace.

  • from kaibara Ekiken?

  • From Funakoshi Gichin, the founder of 'Shotokan' Karatedo.

  • Seek perfection of character

    Be Faithful

    Endeavour

    Respect others

    Refrain from violent behaviour

  • Thanks

  • Pleasure, thanks for the video.

  • moralidad el dojo

  • usted está sí correcto

  • So what does that mean?

  • Hi,

I cant remember the exact translation but generally it means:

1- Strive to achieve your full potential

2- Always be honest and truthful

3- Develop the Self or Spirit

4- Respect yourself and all others

5- Use your knowledge and skills wisely

  • Thanks! Nice proverbs, or whatever!

  • Cool - I didn't mention before, it's the ethos of Karate. Each practitioner is meant to strive to achieve these goals and keep them in mind, both while they train and in everyday life. Like a set of rules to follow or aspire to ;)
